posted a message on Diablo III Auction House is Shutting Down on March 18, 2014
My only problem with this is trading. How will we trade besides the spam affiliated Chat Channels? At least in Diablo 2, and even Diablo 1 you could create a game that was searchable through a lobby where the host was able to put what trade they wanted "2x Sojo 4 Shako" etc. I've played 900 hours+ on PC, and a good 200 or so on Console so far, and although yes the loot is nice on Console, I feel like my drops really don't matter except for self progression, after I am done or outgrew the item there's nothing to do with it but drop, or destroy it, vendor values are too low to even think of selling anything besides magic, and even they are better salvaged. there is no real way to trade items except with friends, and the only friends I have that play with me are so close in relation we just give the item(s) to each other freely. There's no real value to anything, there's no market, no real way to sell, or buy something you've been looking for. You just have to spend all the time yourself to get the items.

Sure, playing the game, great! But there's legendaries, and rare items for a reason. Diablo has always been about gear, but its always also mostly been a cooperative game with a market. I feel like there should be an easier way to trade, and please just open up all acts so we can manuever through the game IN a game, and not have to exit to lobby every time.

Oh lovey, another PTR extending the total time to the next patch release \O/.

Not really sure if anyone had high expectations regarding Itemization. It's become a standard where everyone hopes for better, with putting a limit on their expectations or excitement. No one wants to be disappointed and although I love this game and Blizzard, it's come to be a thing with this.

Oh, and <3 the Horadric Hamburger all the way.

Interesting idea, and I like to fuel discussion and imaginative thoughts. Although even with not changing the genre of the game, it is still possible to implement updates, content, and other mechanics that would not change or harm the genre itself. Genres are only split by thin hairs by themselves, but ideas can still cross to others without changing the style and feeling of it. Limiting based on a genre shouldn't happen, especially since there is no fine print or anything disconcerting that. For example, Diablo, an Action RPG and Borderlands, a FPS RPG are both driven by killing, and of course loot. Look at how different they are from each other, but how similar. Things shouldn't be limited just because of what they claim to be.

New skills would still benefit Blizzard. More Skill = more builds which more builds = more different type of item builds which would then again be chained to the AH. So that shouldn't be used as an excuse.

Cost of programming new skills might not be worth for them maybe, i dont know but i know blizz for sure will never add new skills without an expansion. This is blizzard after all. However they would with massive support add a random map generator/new legendries.

If they already are using labor and expenses to further update the game, they should do so which would increase profit along with popular demand. Other companies have realized this too. Bethesda, Bioware, Jagex, etc. They are starting to realize that consumers drive this industry forward and without them their game is essentially hemorrhaging money.

They would gain far more profit to create skills or items, then they would if they made randomization, Paragon, changed how monster affixes worked or make the game quote on quote "easier".

Why not have survival dungeons, better PVP, even skills like collecting, gathering, cooking like an MMO would have?

Because we don't want an MMO?

To the same degree I say this, WHY do things have to be limited to certain genres? Just because it was used in one game or what type of game doesn't mean it cannot be used in another. They are not trade-marked to the genre, just like fighting enemies is in any type of RPG, but also in First Person Shooters, and even smaller arcade titles. No one should consider anything limited to a certain genre. I hate that mentality. That's basically being stereotypical in a non-personified way.

What do you expect to do? It's a game about farming, loot, sometimes interesting builds, building a set of items that suits your needs, doing some brawling if you feel like it and that's pretty much all. This goes for all ARPG games. What bigger purpose do you want? Random maps in PoE - farming acts in D3. A few updates in the coming months should balance things out a bit when it comes to farming different acts with the same efficiency. But the core is that you just farm. What ideas do you have for ARPGs in general is my question?

My input on this matter is this. Why be limited to such? Why does it have to be about, and driven solely by loot, why would anyone want to take a great name franchise and limit it at every turn? Sure, I've played Diablo 1, and Diablo 2 way back when they were freshly created. I've seen what they have become, what they have accomplished. As time goes on, and as life and technology progresses, so to does the desires and taste of the community. Not only that, the gaming industry grows larger with each passing day, week and month.

If there is the ability, and the desire to see something happen, why not to do it? Is it because of the fact of "This design isn't meant to be in a Action RPG" Who stated that, and where does such a rule exist. Why not have survival dungeons, better PVP, even skills like collecting, gathering, cooking like an MMO would have? By suggesting this I'm not saying I want them implemented, my point I wish to get across is where did all of this limiting talk come from? Great the majority of the game is about slaying demons and finding loot, awesome! Sounds fun, but oh, there's something more besides the bloodshed and repetitive? Even better!

Just happened to me in the last half hour, although I'm not sure if I can blame the Battle-net servers, or my own internet connection. I haven't played in a week so wasn't sure what to think of it.

Either way, after I lost connection I just logged off and did other stuff.

posted a message on 1.0.7 looks good, but it's missing something important!
From what I've gotten out of it, he's basically saying the current itemization system is a fail. In which I'm inclined to agree with him. The affixes, and RNG of everything is just dis-heartening. in 700+ hours I've only found 2 Trifecta items, and a few legendaries worth selling. (I.E. Manticore with 2 sockets, and perf crit, although got screwed with Dexterity/Int).

The ratio of rare items used in slots as opposed to Legendaries is gross, I thought they wanted to make it so that Legendaries were not a one stop for every slot. And the amount of "non crap" legendaries is low. I have so many Brimstones because of my unlocky rolls, or just finding items like "The Dark Shade" Or "The Tormentor". White items are crap. Blue items are crap. 90% of rares are crap. and most legendaries are crap.

I like your affix/suffix idea too.

I wouldn't use this, any outside program regardless of function is borderline. Only thing I know is okay is a multi-boxxing program that is made by people who are in contact with Blizzard.

The only time I think roll-backs should be done is when your account is compromised due to lack of security on Blizzards part. As much as I don't want to, I do agree that what happens to your account other than that, is your problem. It has been this way across many different MMO's, ARPG's, and a wide variety of games. Blizzard gives you the protection (SMS protect, authenticator, your choice in password, be it strong or weak; its all up to you).

It's hard to take sides on this matter, because my account has been compromised years back on Diablo 2, and Blizzard did nothing for me albeit it was my own stupidity that let me to go to a third-party site which put my account at risk just on a friend's simple request. It was 'my' fault and I am the only one who can control if I get scammed, and how.

If there was someway of 'rolling back' while replacing the items lost for whatever reason, to use the same item ID to make it so upon recovering the item, the original where-ever it may be would be destroyed, thus recovering the item to its proper state and owner, as intended.

posted a message on What happend?
This is because not all of the monsters in Act 2 were level 63, but were 61-62, etc. When you up it to MP 1, ALL monsters in every act are bumped up to level 63, which would make them equivalent to Act 3, and 4 in power. What MP1 does, though is make it so you can farm any act and still get all of the same quality gear.

If you're having trouble with MP1 on ACT 2, can try doing it on Act 1, see if that helps any, or bump back down to MP0 until furthering your gear.

secondly for demon hunter - sheer number of them is a proof. it's easier to find a MP game with 3 demon hunters than it is with one monk, for example. i know blizzard gave different numbers, but my personal experience is that game is swarming with DHs. or maybe just the multiplayer is

For this, as my experience with a Demon Hunter. It's because their survivability is low, and to farm effectively they need to be in a group where not everything is aggro to just them. I've paid a lot for my gear, with 450+ all resist, decent armor rating, and 44k health along with 116k DPS, and my solo runs still take twice as long as they would in Multi-player. That's not to say its not possible, just takes way too long.

And if MP is not on Public games, rarely anyone beside the elite will venture very far past MP level 3. My DH is well geared, but cannot last long in 5+. Rendering anything over that useless. I have other level 60 characters, but no where near as good. So for that I don't agree. I do understand that it's for Public games, not Private games. But there are those who don't have a ton of friends on all the time.

You should be able to select different "tiers" of multi-player in the main lobby, so when you go to try to get in public games, it'll match you up with someone based on your tier choice. (Ex. Tier 1 MP level 1-3. Tier 2. MP level 4-6. Tier 3. 7-10). Yeah, less games will be existing in each category, but all in all people will get what they want.
