    posted a message on Your thoughts on piracy/illegal downloading
    Even creating a police for it is kind of mute, because of the same fundamental problems with policing the internet: It's global. It crosses nearly all borders and you'd have to have a global police force to do so, which is nigh impossible. Sharing will continue no matter how mad you get, corporate CEOs.

    My stance on piracy is that I try before I buy more often than not. Demos aren't as common as they used to be and I think that if you want my support for your game/movie I should know exactly what I'm paying for. I've played a couple of games that I would only buy if they were twenty or so or less even. That's why I love Steam. :D

    You can outrun creepers, and you can also lead them away. They only time they'll explode is when they feel they will get you, so run away from your built stuff and kite them with a sword or bow. They will go down eventually, just watch out for that beep when he's going to explode. That way he'll explode no where near your stuff, and you'll get some free mined stuff outta the ground. :D

    Yeah, gold is only good as a decorative block, sadly. :( They used to be resistant to explosions but not anymore. U.U

    If you downloaded during the weekend you may not have gotten the sound files. I had to redownload because I didn't. In any case it a was a free weekend for Alpha because of the server going down.

    Minecraft got way too popular for this humble server. I've had to disable everything fancy to even get it to run. It went down on Saturday, September 18.
    It will probably go back to normal on Tuesday, September 21. I hope.

    If your launcher is giving you download errors, please update the launcher by downloading the latest version from this page.

    The following things do not work at the moment:

    * Registering an account
    * Purchasing the game
    * User verification for online servers
    * Sounds and music for new players

    The following does work:

    * Actually playing the game
    * Player skins

    Until this all gets sorted out, I'm officially calling a "free-to-play weekend", or however long this will take to fix. You will need to have a paid account to play it later on when this gets fixed though.
    If you want to keep track of the latest developments, please follow my blog. I also post stuff on my twitter, but there's a lot of nonsense there as well.

    If you're speaking about the creeper looking a little doofy, it's because it was the first attempt at making a pig. Yeah. Now it's even scarier than a muffled form shuffling towards you in the dark that explodes.

    If you tried it today, then it might be because there was a weekly update and the servers were overloaded to the max. Had to wait forever to download the newest version. :\

    You can die and your inventory will scatter around you, then you respawn where you did when you first booted up the world. You can gain back items but whenever I've died in SP I've always been out in the boonies exploring and then get ran at from behind. You can't really lose the game per say, as it is open ended, but watching all you worked for go off in a creeper explosion can be brutal.

    The more you explore, the more enemies will find you. If you pump up the difficulty they can take half your health in one swing, and creeper explosions just downright suck around your stuff.

    Our spawn started literally right next to a hollow hill that winds all the way down to lava and some water was already there making us some nice obsidian. Haven't had the time to mine it but I marked it so we'd always know where it was:

    Oh yeah, and while I'm running around making wonders of the world, my mates were busy working on a reincarnation of Grunty: It has most of the level areas done and stuff. lol. We made this map when server side inventory got introduced.

    It creates a small section of the (your) world, and as you walk, it continues to expand and get bigger, randomly generated as you go. It can and will fill up your hard drive. (as it gets bigger, it, obviously, takes up more space on your hard drive) A tip for monsters, search for their dungeons during the day. You can take out spawns near you to have a less hectic night and thus get things done with more time.

    I've been playing for quite a bit now, and Alpha version is actually coming along really well. We've got five or so people playing on a private server and building things in multiplayer is just a blast. I'd say support it if you're having a good time, the preorder price is only 9 euros. (roughly 13 bucks) It's well worth it to support an indie game developer and he's promised free updates over the course of development. (But I wouldn't feel too bad, the guy's almost made a million off it alone.) Every Friday is an update and without fail, things are getting better and better.

    As for the graphics, it's sort of a throwback 3D 8bit kind of thing. But the real power is in the texture and skin modding. You can download or create all sorts of skins and textures for your people and blocks. I'm running a Zelda 3 texture pack that makes everything look hella tight.

    But he never said he didn't want people to buy it anymore, he said that he wasn't going to obsess and fight over the pirates because most are try-before-buyers and word of mouth could potentially spread faster that way. Like I said, he's made some good flow from this so I wouldn't feel too bad, he's doing well.

    I bought a G9 and haven't looked back. The good thing is the sensitivity settings. You can perk them up or down and get them perfect. I also have it so I change on the fly between regular FPS play and sniping, for example. But yeah, don't get a wireless mouse. The delay WILL be noticeable.

    If they ever link up with Steam it's a definite possibility. That's the great part about Steam, my list is chocked full of oldie-but-goodies.

    Idk, with the new Battle.net (and as with SCII) you have to be connected at all times to the internet anyway, I don't see why it's not possible to have a character play on both SP and MP sides.

    Listen to everything back to back to back and explode with awesomeness. I love Mastodon and I love their progression over the course of every album, they really just get better and better. Not to mention their artwork artist is insane. Epic band.

    I didn't take it as a lecture at all, I took it as an opinion of his. It's great that he feels that way, but it may not be my opinion or your opinion. The 'End of lecture...' wasn't meant to imply HEY I'M LECTURING YOU FOO I don't think but more as Sorry for the wall'o'text.

    You are butthurt, Akuma, sorry mang. Your disrespect was way over his. :\ I'm not going to stop gaming until I die, it's a hobby and a way of life. If people stopped after a certain age there wouldn't be the developers and programmers and modelers for Diablo 3 and, of course, the rest of the gaming world. Saying he's a 40 year old virgin out of no where and telling him his priorities should be elsewhere is disrespectful Sorry if you disagree with his post, but there was nothing wrong with it. :\

    Rehire after a certain amount of time. Take your stuff off, and rebuy a new merc. There's no real customization other than weapons on mercs, so that's your best bet.
