This is one of the most embarrassing economic slip ups. This was a self inflicted wound, unlike all the other debt crisis going on right now. Everyone still wants to lend the U.S money, and everyone still had faith that the U.S would not default. This credit rating change is not really due to the debt to GDP ratio, or any economic fundamentals, but rather the idiocy in the House &Senate causing an increase in moral hazard.
I disagree. Most, if not all, of all the current debt crises are self inflicted. But the world still mostly runs on the USD (Though the Euro and the GP are both right on the USD's heals) regardless of whether we are AAA or AA+. This just makes it harder for our nation to operate. And like I said, I place the blame squarely on the shoulders of people like John Boehner.
There is a major difference. One of the self inflicted wound is by being negligent; almost like playing with a gun and not knowing it was loaded. The other is like taking a loaded gun and shooting yourself in the foot, because you didn't get what you want.
I've been a lurker here for a few years, but normally choose to post over on the Bnet forums instead. Considering the Beta is drawing near and all the RMT talk is flooding the forums, there really is no use of trying to have any rational discussions there at the moment.
they just talk about how the other person isn't doing their job right without actually coming up with a better idea.
Well yeah and even during this important debate about the debt ceiling that's exactly what each party did. It's a chance to win support for the next elections to mirror the agreed upon rhetoric of your party instead of just getting up there and telling people to take their damn medicine and that this is what really needs to be done.
Both major parties are guilty of this. In the end it's bureaucrats who will fix everything anyway. Whatever policy is created by Congress, it's up to the trained professional bureaucrats to actually make things work. And they do it very well as a matter of fact.
So yes, the U.S really just lost their perfect credit rating, but not because they couldn't pay their bills. It is because there are morons in the House & Senate, that are willing to cause a default if they don't get what they want.
I understand what you're saying. I mean, the economy itself isn't just influenced by sheer numbers but also by consumer confidence. And the level of confidence of foreign investors in the U.S. economy is shaken even by the petty bickering of Congress.
Well that is the point. It is no longer seen as petty bickering and posturing. The likelihood of congress not working things out has greatly increased, and thus the perceived likelihood of the U.S defaulting because partisanship has also increased. Which means lending to the U.S just got riskier in the eyes of many investors.
And when we mean defaulting on a payment, it is not like it is restricted to; the U.S is just not going to pay. A disruption in cash flows (paying late) can shake investors.

I think they would probably want testers from the low to mid range comp setups. They already know the top of the line comps will run D3 smoothly, probably because that's what they are using in house.
I feel like their should be a specialization choice. Keep the new system, but add the ability to make one (or more) skills empowered by a specialization choice. Now the buff in the skill does not have to be over the top, but something large enough that can be a distinguishing factor when comparing two builds of the same class.
Also whatever skill(s) you specialize in, than you be restricted from swapping out.
Players will naturally prefer a play style or skill that will want to use more often than other, no matter how much the developers want us to constantly use them all.
Even though D2 was pretty cut throat, you would often find kind and generous people trying to help other players out. With the RMT AH, I can see every decision to help other people being attached to some $ amount.
Even RL friends may hide gear they find, because they rather make a few buck than give it away. Can you imagine an open loot system with RMT AH?

I can't see this game being pushed back to Q2.

I think the recent Diablo.cc interview had a statement by Jay Wilson, which discussed the different difficulties and only mentioned Norm, NM and Hell.

I'll post it and see if we are lucky.
