Well, last year they winded up making the legendary drop rate permanent, thank blizzard. I would like it if they added some other buff, Double XP/Goblins is always nice.
To be honest, they should just have the buffs on a random weekend rotation. 100% buff to xp one weekend, 100% buff to gold next, double blood shards next, ect, with special events granting 2-3 buffs for thier time period.
I do not feel your pain, this is a game of grinding, you either have fun grinding towards something or having fun using what you grinded.
Now you have the possibility to compete with other players, 48 is a joke for a softcore WD like someone said earlier. Maybe you should try to improve your build, tactic or gameplay in general, you can always have fun that way.
Coming here to share how unlucky you are is just not productive at all, go outside, be with your partner/friends or find some if you do not happen to have any, crying on the forums wont help you.

I'm sorry sir, but there must be something that makes you hate dying and that actualy sets you back for it. There is no point if it isnt the case.
You can always join the hardcore community, I'm sure you won't complain about a 30 seconds timer

- do not die so often
- develop patience, with patience comes wisdom, with wisdom comes power, with power comes domination over all things, even d3 death timers or the force.

The same indeed. The background color is there to reflect their quality, legendary and set respectively. While changing the art of the item is quite cheap and easy to make, reflecting these changes into the 3d element itself is another issue entirely. That's why in same cases they make the choice of reusing certain elements.
What I a saying however is that is way cheaper to paint another art block for a consumable, which does not appear in a 3d capacity, then to change a piece of wearable item (like armors). So it's not that fair to compare a Gift with a helm. Different type of items, different time spent bringing them to life. For a gift is as easy as drawing an emote in Paint as a visual cue, jump to armors, and then -> better/more complex art, 3d version which has to look good with all dies, on multiple classes/genders etc.
What does that have to do with the argument this isn't real because it's the same as another art block, just different color?
The point is that same art block, different color is rampant throughout D3 and therefore it's not a valid argument against it's validity. No one's addressing the 3d artwork of any piece when it's worn, or it's cost.

You play as you wish to play. Stop all this "OH DUDES, XP GEAR IS MANDATORY" , it isn't.
I do not use it, only when I feel like it, and when playing in a group, it doesnt bother me that other people use it.
