Hey everyone.
I just started using photoshop, and I made this digital painting, while playing around with the features.
It is not exactly finished, I need to add a bit more detail, and something in the background.

Any suggestions for what should be in the background?
EDIT:
I added a fairy to the scene.
As the depressed fairy passes through the dark forests, it's fairy dust starts to grow grass rapidly.

Other people have made videos far more educational than mine. You should look them up. :]
Also, I would suggest getting to know the simple (but most useful) tools first. Mainly the Brush tool (and obviously the Eraser tool). Play around with the brush settings and try stuff out. Opacity/Flow, different brush shapes and textures, etc. My favorite brush is a simple round brush with 10-50% Flow. Simple is good. :]
Also, you'll need a decent tablet to get anything good done. As one of my favorite artists said, drawing with a mouse is like cutting a steak with a brick. It's probably possible, given enough effort, but far from convenient.
The most important skills, however, are the same ones that apply to traditional art. Knowledge of color theory, anatomy, composition, etc. If you know how to use that stuff, getting to know Photoshop, and using it to make good art, should be a piece of cake.

I was actually planning on buying a tablet.
Though for now I will just follow your advice and play around with the features.

I got bored one day and just decided to draw the Triune Leader Blood Guard.
I know it's not perfect and don't intend it to be, so don't criticize on it, thanks =]
