Just like we didnt see any pictures of the monk before its announcement... we wont see any pics of the last class.

Unless the last class is the Bandit we have seen a pic of. Which I think would be awesome.

Molten Metal Arrows: An arrow that melts after it leaves the bow, causes fire and phisical damage with a splash radius (range and speed reduced).

Charged Spikes: Fires an arrow with a mace like arrowhead, explodes on impact sending electricaly arced spikes flying in all directions (range and speed is severely reduced)

Ugh... just reminds me how slow arrows go in the diablo series. Always been a pet peeve of mine. Arrows should fly fast. Then it would be alright to slow them down with a skill. But if they keep the same speed, plus you slow them more, you might as well have slow missile triggered...

Imo, arrows should fly faster than the D2 arrows, but not as fast as the TL arrows. Right in between would be great.

posted a message on Whirlwind vs Devastate
So, like many of you, I have been playing Torchlight to try and sate my thirst for D3 (to no avail unfortunately), and I've mainly been playing the destroyer, and I have to tell you, I really like the devastate skill. If you haven't played Torchlight, when you use devastate, you basically hold down the mouse button, and the destroyer will follow your cursor, draining mana as he goes. He hops around taking huge swings, and (imo) it's pretty sweet. It works like ww in a way, good for groups of monsters and it keeps you moving so you don't get schwacked.

Now, at the risk of upsetting people, dare I say I like it better than ww? Now hear me out. WW is one of my favorite skills in D2, in fact my wwsin was one of my fav chars to duel with, but it always bothered me that I was supposed to believe he was spinning like a freaking tasmanian devil all over the place, somehow not puking all over the monsters and still being able to tell which direction to go, etc. It just never seemed right to me, but I loved how much it owned, so I put it out of my head.

But now along comes devastate, and I really like it. Torchlight is ok, though obviously nothing compared to D3 (or D2, or D1) but they had a great idea in devastate. I would love to see the D3 barb use something like it. What do you guys think? I think Blizzard would make it way better, and it would be a good contrast to ww, where ww is just a chaotic flurry of steel, the new-and-improved devastate would be more of a serious of well placed blows designed to keep you moving out of your opponents reach at the same time.

Obviously this is just something I think would be cool, as I'm pretty sure they pretty much have the barb all figured out, but I'm just curious if anyone agrees with me?

posted a message on Φ The Official Eastern Sun Thread
I did a quick search of this thread and couldn't find my problem, so if it has been answered, I'm sorry to repeat it. The Eastern Sun homepage says that it can support up to /players16, but mine only goes to /players8. I'm on a PC, and I downloaded the PC version. I found the file called D2Mod.ini and when I open it, it says Playersxmin = 1 and Playersxmax = 16, but it still only lets me go to 8. Any suggestions?

    Thanks

in diablo you wouldnt ever need a healer but you could give someone a healer tree of some sort and give them bonuses for healing party members lol

like if they did release a monk class he could heal someone and gain an addition to life for a duration

or get a duration of armor lol

and make the heal sucky too so it doesnt heal all the way just enough to take an additional hit or something

they could give a potential paladin something like that too XD

but if they did bring back a paladin i could see it best as a zealot from zakarum seeking revenge on mephisto or something lol

:offtopic:Everytime I read one of your posts, all I can think about is Speed Racer saying the lines...

Ok, so I tried searching this massive thread for my problem, but didn't find it.

Everytime I click on the ES shortcut, it says "The install folder must be under your Diablo II folder" What the hell does that mean? I thought I followed the instructions on the sight, but I'm not too good with computers, so I would really appreciate a dumbed-down answer to my problem.

I do not have a copy of LoD in the drive, as I lost my disc and have loaded LoD from Blizzstore. The latest version of ES says I need the disc in the drive, but that was before you could download it like that. Think that matters?

C'mon man, if you fuck up don't blame the game for it. This would annoy me so much.

Sometimes lag was to blame though. I would click a gem or rune in my inventory, then click an empty space in my stash to put it there, but the game was lagging, so I really clicked next to that spot, where I had my 3os 15%ed archon plate, and whoops, there goes my nigma...

    Quote from "ExoditeTyr" »
I doubt accidentally socketing an item will still have the same problems given the 2 item sized inventory. Gems would be the small items, while weapons/armor would be in the larger icon tab.

    Very true, good point.

    Quote from "Airandius" »
I think it should indeed lower the durability of the weapon, and perhaps decrease the stats of the gem aswell? Like you remove a perfect gem , you get a flawless back.

Nicely done, sir, I agree. So it would cost money, and it would perma-damage the item by about 10%, and lower the quality of the gem one tier. I think this would be an acceptable price and not make people re-use the same gems/items over and over. Someone call Bashiok! :P

What I liked in Rage of Mages was that it had 2 parameters:
    Defense (chance to avoid)
    Armor (damage absorb)
Armor was hard to get by and it was valuable to characters who get hit a lot... Defense was more for ranged characters who preferred to evade things.

Lol sorry Equinox, musta missed it somehow. I frequently check posts when tired, probably shouldn't. I really do like this idea, I would be psyched if they added it.

More on the topic of the poster, I think they should split defenses into dodge and reduction and use names that fit both types. Perhaps give each armor 2 different defnse ratings, one evasion based, other damage reduction based.

^This. Love this idea. I always thought that it should be that way. Would add sooo many more build options.

posted a message on Bossruns change or keep?
In addition to making multiple bosses/areas worthwile to run, what about the idea of making the bosses harder/have better drops based on how many monsters you killed in his area on your way to him? That way if you rushed to him killing no one else, he would be weak and drop lame stuff, but if you killed every monster from the start of his level to him, he would be uber powerful and thus more likely to drop good stuff.

    LMAO.

Man you guys are hilarious. I've been mentioning an aura-support/ranged/shield class that would maybe be able to use a bow also for the last couple of months, and I got that idea from the Paragon.
Since people have a hard time paying attention only few people actually responded to the idea :P
And now when someone else comes up with a similar idea people are mentioning "hey it actually sounds like the Paragon, now here's a guy that worked like that and was fun to play, they should do it like that".

    Just.. lol.

Sorry man, I'm kinda new here lol. Musta skipped that post.

I like the idea of holy/ranged/spear class.

Reminds me of the Paragons from Guild Wars. I barely played it, and I know tha Paragons weren't that great or used that much, but I really liked playing them. For those of you that haven't played GW, Paragons used mainly javalins/shields, and had angelic party buffs. He was basically a pally/zon/barb mix, and pretty fun to play.
