Basicly, you collected 3 different items (and a recipe), combined them at a special vendor at a hefty price, and woosh, you got a nifty item that could have all kinds of more or less awesome effects.

I see. But how did the Talisman play into it? If it was just the items and recipe combined at a vendor, there seems to be no use for it. Or is the talisman the recipe?

ofc i wasnt but it is widely used in wow which actually is a blizz game...what was the last blizz game that used a gold exchange system?...Thats right WoW

That's like saying "Diablo 3 wants to use weapons to attack with? They totally stole that from WoW!!"

Gold being used as currency wasn't invented in WoW...Nor was it invented in video games for that matter. If gold is going to be there it better be worth something.

They probably just kept it up-and-down so that it acts like mana, in the sense that out of the corner of your eye, you can see it is full because its at the top. But because they glow and pulse and what not, it wouldn't really matter where they were oriented since you will blatantly be able to tell whether you have any fury built up or not. Triangular would look pretty cool I think, and it would get rid or that traffic-light look.

Or maybe Like a bulls-eye pattern, where no fury is empty (obviously), once it builds up to the first orb, it appears in the center and glows yellow. Next tier it hits it gets bigger, fills up 2/3 of the orb and glows orange, then when it reaches max, it fills up the whole orb and glows red, but maybe like a fiery-pulsing red so it doesn't look like another health orb.

I'm hoping they do a melee/agility fighter. Kinda like the sin, it could duel-wield and have some sort of weapon block, but with any 1-handed weaps you want instead of just claws. It would obvioulsy be very fast, and do lots of lower damage attacks. They would have to make sure it was different from the berserker-tree barb though. Maybe even add in some ranged skills with it, to open up with nice debilitating bow shot, then close to melee and finish up with some quick blade work.

I also really like the idea of a battlemage, I've always wanted to make one. Either a sword-and-board style where you could enchant your weapon to do some nice damage, or just a more heavily armored mage with some sort of shield or brace that casted melee-range spells, like the touch spells from Oblivion. Or maybe a conjure-mage that conjures a nice otherworldly weapon, again a la Oblivion. So I guess Battlemage (or whatever) is class, then the 3 trees are Conjuration, Touch Spells, and Weaponry.

Im sure that after using them often enaugh we will easily get used to the icons gameplay wise.

Totally agree. In DII, I know which hotkeys do what, but sometimes I still have trouble remembering which skill icon is battle orders and which is battle command hehe...

Once we've played for a while, it will all come down to muscle memory.

I really like the waypoint idea, but i think there needs to be more to it than that. Just walking up to a waypoint and putting a coin in the machine so you can use it seems like a laundromat or something. Maybe instead have some kind of item that you buy from vendors (or find better quality ones) that has a charge on it, a certain number of uses that you could pay a mage NPC to recharge for you.

Well hell, maybe that's what the Talisman is for :P

I went enlisted. Marines have OCS, but I hear it called other things too, they change the names of stuff way too often heh.

Thanks for the warm welcome :)

By the way, is there a way to track topics?

Hey everyone. Long time player, short time lurker, first time poster. I picked up DII very soon after it came out, and haven't really put it down since. I did have around a year-and-a-half absence, though, since I joined the Marine Corps 2 years ago. But now I have some downtime so I figured I'd catch up on the latest DIII info, since it was announced while I was deployed. Anyways, I look forward to hearing from you all and getting some good info.

    Vae Victis
