forget d2 asgard, its just too laggy to play and there noone playing basically, I switched to diablopk, thanks to this guy:

It doesnt work if you have a static IP, which most have, what I personally do when I get a realm down is to use hotspotshield (google it) you start the program, it get you on a new temporary IP and you can keep playing, after a few hours, close hotspotshield and see if the realm down is gone, you can keep hotspotshield open all the time if you want but you may have lag issues.

I found a private server where you can get all perfect legit items in minutes, bring back some really good memories, however the server is basically dead with 2-10 players online and only found 1 zealer yet. Anyone would be interested in joining me ? I got some friends that might be interested too. I lost faith in blizzard to ever see a real Diablo 3 PvP.

edit: by hardcore I didnt meant the actual hardcore mode

damn I liked the crit/ hit crit/ ias caps, personnaly, i'd remove crit hit damage completely, or at least hard or soft cap it (dimishing returns) that thing is just too good and scale exponentially,

Diablo 2 PvP was awesome and there was no team deathmatch matchmaking, it was just fair and no pay to win, thats all I ask.

I'm really curious and I don't mean to seem to be attacking you personally, but are you THAT nostalgic about D2 that you DON'T think it was "pay to win"? You really think everything just came across all the perfect PVP gear? People bought gear - I'm not saying everyone did, but a good amount - in D2 from sites like D2JSP, and people have been / will continue to buy gear for D3.

Unless everything is BoA, it's GOING to be, in your words, 'pay to win'.

I want PVP as well, but you have to remember it's been p2w since D2 vanilla.

I know im being nostlagic a bit and what you are saying is true, both games are p2w. There only 1 difference and that difference is HUGE, in diablo 2, it was more than possible to be in the top geared PVP players without spending a cent, in diablo 3, its impossible and even if you manage to do it, no one in their right mind would prefer to keep a PVP character over 2000$ and yes, it cost around 2000$ to be in the top geared PVP players in Diablo 3, while in Diablo 2, you had a 98% perfect character for what, 100$ ? 200$ ? Ofc you could have a 2000$ character, but that character was barely 1.1x stronger than a100$ character and this is highly modified by your skills, gear setup, char levels and builds. Meanwhile in Diablo 3, a 2000$ character is 3x more resistant, faster, stronger, etc. than a 100$ character. The problem is that the items are way too random imo, (because of the auction house, says blizzard) and hopefully that new loot 2.0 can fix the problem. But I would love to see arena and PVP gear.

Like I said already, its not the same thing at all, brawling in d3 is more than unbalanced, its a lost cause, something that they could fix very very easily by tweaking a few numbers that changes only when in the ''arena''

not only that, but brawling is way too much pay to win, in diablo 2, a 5000$ character was 1.1x better than a 100$ character (lets say same class vs same class for that comparison) while in Diablo 3, a 5000$ character is like 5x stronger than a 100$ character, no matter how well built the 100$ character is or how skilled he is, there is no way he can win, no even once over 100 duels.

While in Diablo 2, I remember owning people with my level 70 fresh barb or leveling to 97 just to get a few more stats to be as good as 99% perfect characters even if I was like 94% perfect, I was still winning 47% of the games, more if I get lucky hehe.

Imagine if in LoL you could pay 2000$ to be 2x stronger than anyone, the game would die within a week leaving only the people who paid that 2000$ fight together, thats exactly what happend with brawling

The thing is, I played a LOT of PvP games competitively, from counter-strike to halo by wow to LoL. And I never had fun like I had fun PvPing in Diablo 2, why ? I am not quite sure, the duel system was indeed broken in Diablo 2 but it still delivered more than any esport or PvP based game ever did. I believe its the strategy in gear building and the fact that its a medieval themed game in fast paced combat mixed with the two things I like the most after PvP, loot and trading. PvP give a purpose to the game, PvE farming is now fun to me, doing ubers to get a better torch to replace, the fact that you can almost infinitely upgrade your gear, even if its just to switch a couple 3/17/19 scs into 3/19/20 scs to feel like you are stronger and stronger you are.

No matter how much PvP was broken in Diablo 2, its nowhere close to be as broken as D3 brawling, at all.
