So yea we lose a bit senseless customization like having a wizard wield a maul twice his size (in the real world it would be like putting a medic with a rocket launcher in the front line, kinda wierd huh) but on the other hand as bashiok has said they will put the effort of senseless customization and direct it towards more skills , skill rune effects, so basically adding a lot more meaningful depth to each individual class. I prefer that idea over being able to use a freakin 2 handed pillar as an archer. I hope i was clear.
I'm sorry, but you just bought his whole silly excuse which is nothing but a joke to make you think exactly that "I prefer that over this".
His excuses makes no technical sense.
I don't disagree entirely with the decisions, I mean the wizard can't use big two-handed stuff, the barbarian can't use wands.. I mean, that kind of things I couldn't care less and won't affect the game much, except those that really love to try anything.
All I'm saying is, Bashiok doesn't deserve any credit for his comment. Sweet, he's talking to the community, but his text is there for nothing. A few lines would be saying the same thing.

And this was just show off of the horrible, horrible characters and faces their engine can do. I'm going to have nightmares. This was an absolutely disgusting video, an insult.

You can already mass buy in D2. There is no information about it for D3 I believe, if they can give us a bit more control over it, that would be nice, and I don't see why they would not.
I have no idea what you are actually asking at 2. But skills are supposed to be easier to use, because you shouldn't have to individually switch to them AND right click to use various skills.
There is absolutely no information about an upcoming gameplay video. Only speculations.,

Health and XP they give is increased by 50% per additional player, up to 350% more.
Drops are affected in various more complicated ways, but they -are- and monsters generally drops more with more players.
The damage one is the only hard one to notice. You can find that information here:

To be honest, however, I would prefer to not have them simply grow stronger, but also grow in numbers. For example, each additional player there are 25% more enemies, and they are 25% stronger. Things that don't multiply well (boss, etc) would be 50% stronger instead.
Numbers are nothing but examples.
I personally would prefer something like this. It would actually give a better feeling that you -need- the people around you in a bigger game, because there are more to deal with. This might not be to everyone's liking, though.
I wouldn't expect that, though. But I think it would be nice. What you should expect for sure, though, is a similar scaling to Diablo 2. I still would like to hear it from them, though.

Well, again, like I said, if they can spam and fill 1/2 or even just 1/4 of your screen, then there is a problem with the chat system. Not only should it not take that much room when filled, but even if it does there should be small spam limits so one can't spam too easily. And like WoW, a simple one or 2 click way to ignore a person and report their spam to Blizzard.
Can't say anyone or myself like having spam come up, of course, and I think it shouldn't be possible (or at least you should be able to turn it off) to receive such spam from someone out of the room. All rooms should be relatively "private" and only friends can contact you in there.

Do you have any good way to stop them? No. If the game doesn't include so much random stats on items, its also one less of a problem. Its affecting you too much only because you care too much.
There is nothing you can do about it. Nothing Blizzard can do to fully stop them. All you can hope is that the game does not have so many flaws, like D2 had, that bot/farmer can take advantage of too much.
Thats still less than WoW, which is mainly what I was talking about. Yes, D2 had that system, and if it didn't you can only imagine how worse it would be.

Its a game. There have been game where you act as a terrorist - its never so specific and this game is not as specific either.
This is reacting on things that are not worth reacting for. Be it religious or whatever, god damnit these discussions are stupid, and I have seen them all over. And yes, its stupid. Get over it, asking for change is even sadder. It just proves, to me, that you do not seriously take this "issue" at heart and all you want is to remove something you do not like from the game, by using some big ass excuses.
If you are not happy about their decisions to such a level, then don't support the game, and don't buy it.

In WoW, they can create trial accounts and spam, if not with channels, they use Yell or whatever. Even just spamming with /say at the right place will work almost as well and for free.
If Diablo 3 does not let anyone get in battle.net without a valid, non-banned cd-key, then how can they come in and spam their crap? As long as we have a quick and easy way to report spammers, of course.
Of course, not saying it will stop them entirely, but when you can't get any sort of free access, it should slow the spam down.

I don't see how that is of any help. Its just a punishment for the others.
I kind of agree. I have been banned twice here and there for no reason, and couldn't play anymore, yet I never did anything. Its extremely frustrating to know that what you paid for can be halted forever in a single click from someone, and you don't even have the rights to say anything about it.

You have to do it manually, however. If you really want these features in game, you can just get PlugY. Resetting stats in an editor takes just that bit more time for vitality and energy (just have to know how much a point give and remove that from your health/energy/stamina).
For skills its easy and fast, however.
I don't consider that cheating, because with games like this, it SHOULD be possible. Heck, I blame it on the fact that this game is old. If you want it more fair, make it cost something.

I don't see why people panic so much about it. Blizzard can't stop it entirely, and yes it will affect the economy, its not a -good- thing but its not going to kill the game. People need to stop getting so paranoiac over these. "OMG MY EXPERIENCE WILL BE RUINED BY CHEATERS". The only reason its going to affect you is because you care too much. Stop it. Stop living in other people's world and just care about yourself and your experience.
Things happens around you in the game and you can't stop it. Its not going to be as out of control as D2, Blizzard is making sure of that, but a lot will still happen. Stop caring and live with it. Please. Because it won't ever stop.

Yes, some class will have some ways to cross obstacles. But there should always be alternatives routes - always a way to go there completely on foot with no tricks.
I also hope any form of teleport is much more limited.

I personally think 4 is a bit low, but at the same time, 8 might be too big. The problem is, whatever the max is, a good bunch will only play this. I know thats how I do. So a max of 6 would probably be much better.
On topic, boss shouldn't respawn... no point at all. And don't expect more than 8 players. 20? Thats just silly thinking. However, that players from all over can communicate with each other (as you can in a MMO), these are probably the kind of things bnet 2.0 may offer. Who knows. But 9+ players in a game is -not- going to happen. This isn't a fact, but I'm pretty god damn sure about it.

WASD to control your characters in the 8 directions on an overhead game is absolutely not unheard of and it plays very well. If there is no cast time as that you can move and cast at the same time, then geeze, the problem is not in these "new controls". Even in Diablo 2, you cast, and then move your mouse and click to run. Sure, its true that its a bit harder to do that with the mouse. Doesn't make it bad.
To be perfectly honest, sometimes I wish I could move my character with WASD and click for all other actions, simply because it would be much less annoying. But is it so wrong to give the OPTION? "OMG, THEY HAVE A TINY TECHNICAL ADVANTAGE, AND IT WASN'T IN OTHER DIABLO! DON'T LET ANYONE USE IT!"
That kind of attitude makes me sick. And the last topic about this was full of that as well.
Still I wouldn't expect them to include that, it could be technically hard to put in the game since it wasn't designed around that, etc. But I see absolutely no other reason not to have this possibility. It doesn't change anything, it would work as well. Stop creating silly reasons. No wonder gaming hasn't evolved at all for a while.
