I don't think you have it in you to actually like games if those graphics are pushing you away. Its not like its a blocky 3D mess or something. Any half decent game is worth looking passed its graphics, you shouldn't even have to ask.

The game is easier to mod than ever. The possibilites are limitless. What people could do is way beyond D2.

But only pirates will see it.

posted a message on Items dont feel tangible like in Diablo 1/2
*people say it'll be different in the full game*

*they get the full game and it'll be the exact same*

*happens with so many things in any beta i've seen*.

So what about we stop using that excuse to try and end a discussion prematurely, uh?

Items just feel a lot worse in this game in general. I totally get the "tangible" feeling he's talking about. They just don't feel the same at all.

You shouldn't have the choice of where to farm.

    Why?

    Because farming is stupid.

Blizzard got the idea that designing anything in the game around such a stupid concept as farming wasn't good.

PC is an example of a market that has changed for the benefit of both sides. Ease of access, constant deals (look at Steam), prices from GoG to indie games are lower than ever. Everything has changed.

But for consoles? The values of everything is dropping but everybody knows they'll be paying extravagant prices on release for less than before.

Consoles are such an archaic, overpriced bullshit in the first place.

Music is an entire different things. The internet has brought so many wonders to us. And the internet as well as games in general have one word we have yet to understand: sharing. You either understand that we live in a world ever more sharing, or you prioritize profits and go back to the pathetic stone age of capitalism.

There are still musicians making a living: plenty of them. People give money to whom they love. There are places to buy music easier than ever and support the musician you love DIRECTLY. I mean, what, they got 5 cents from you buying in a store, now they get a much bigger part of the profit. Things just change. But it was NEVER easy for musicians to make ANY sort of living. It was always excruciatingly hard. I'd dare say now, with YouTube, with the sharing, its much easier to be known and eventually, much easier to maybe do something great, and become something.

And any musician that went into it for the money is a complete and utter moron, by the way. You choose Art or you choose Money. You don't choose both.

posted a message on Abusing 2 min. cooldown abilities
I'd personally just point out that I think skills with a cooldown of more than 15-30 seconds is a skill that shouldn't exist in Diablo. I completely disagree with the concept.

    Meh.

I wanted to run through the games again. I ran through ME1 again: saw the potential. Then I played ME2 a bit and it hit me:

This series is a failure. Its epic in its non-interesting, shallow, non-replayable kind of way. I admit, hearing about ME3's didn't quite help. I'm not even bothering. Bioware is a laughing stock now.

posted a message on Permanent buffs?
Quote from Jack in the box

So in D2, there were potions and items that would give your character either stat points, stat buffs or skill points to spend. This added to customization in D2.
    What are you talking about?

A few pre-determined quest reward that everybody can get = customization? You are referring to "consumable" items of any kind that gives something permanent, right?

Just having them is no customization. Maybe some quests will give permanent rewards like those, we don't know. However they won't be giving you anything to "spend", since there is -nothing to spend-.

I think it's exaggerated so you can actually see it. If it was a slight sway, you wouldn't notice it, especially in the heat of battle. I agree, it does look pretty disconcerting at first, but I didn't even see it until the third time I watched the video that Kickin_It posted.

That sounds like a pretty stupid reason. Subtlety in details are what makes games great. Shoving them in people's face changes everything. Mind you I don't really care about this in particular.

Again, it's my conclusion that Blizzard doesn't care and seems that is not an integral part of the game or their current design philosophy.
They're a lot more stupid than I thought if thats what they think. They're hurting themselves big time with this. How can they just not care.

posted a message on Torchlight II congratulate Blizzard.
I really don't know why people ever say this. Its like "omg, D3 will keep everybody hooked FOREVER!".

Uh, no, it won't. I'll play it from beginning to end, with friends, with multiple classes. Then you're pretty much done. I'll be moving on. And come back to D3 when expansions hit.

I still have no idea what the hell can keep people playing a game like this so long and feel like nothing else is worth experiencing. Its kind of sad, actually. This isn't even an MMO where you're never really done. This is a game where after a few months, you are actually, completely done. Its like watching a show over and over 10 times and you still wouldn't watch something else. Move on, for god's sakes.

When I'm fully done with D3, I'd be very happy for T2 to hit the shelves so I can see something new and different.

I have to say, I do not understand what it does change with its clarification either.

These were pointed out already I guess, but I'll just point out what personally bothers me:

-Very low stacks. It basically brings back boss runs because of it, doesn't it? I thought the point of this would have been having people going all over the place. This certainly doesn't do that. It just means you have to kill champions in the way to the boss. Its better than not having it but... plus, if it doesn't reset after a boss, then you just go straigth to other bosses? Not sure how this plays out ultimately but its not -quite- what I had in mind.

-I still see no point whatsoever in a time limit on something that goes out when you leave the game. Make me get it Blizzard, there's no reason.

-I can't possibly agree that one person changing skill in a group penalizes everyone heavily. Thats just dumb.

I'm all for meaningful choices and this change is what has finally swayed me into liking the D3 skill system. Finally, we have a meaningful reason to stick with our builds.
There are no meaningful choices at all. There is actually no penalty whatsoever, you just have to stick to your build for the duration of the game, until you die, or until you beat a boss. Again, that changes nothing. It would have been mostly like that with or without this feature.

thank you for actually using your brain and thinking about the system. you are one of the few

Your definition of having a brain is agreeing with your non-sense.

There isn't even a semblant of permanent choices that this make at all. It does not affect the leveling process, it does not even affect how most people would have been playing end game.

I don't expect you to understand anything further than that. I am NOT for absolutely permanent characters, but the game should reward proper building of a character and using what you have.

Where is the satisfaction of building a character? A lot of it was lost and you probably don't care but most importantly, I don't think you have the ability to even understand it. Like someone that cannot understand challenge and hardships presents rewards and satisfaction from it. Absolute freedom of manoeuvre makes this game shallower.

But I'm sure I'm talking way too dumb for you to comprehend the meaning of rewards in diversity. Apparently, everybody loves to be hand-fed every possibility. Imagine a game with 2 completely different endings and different routes to this. Current generation of gaming dictates that you should just be able to -switch- to the other ending for the sake of it.

Forced repetition through builds absolutely set in stone that can't accept any mistake whatsoever (like D2 mostly was) = too much.

But the absolute opposite, while better, is by no means ideal, and much was lost. Can you see that? I don't expect you to.

yay people can stop QQing about build devotion/hot swapping on the go and boss loot. hooo-fucking-ra. praise the diablo gods

Its a band aid solution that fixes nothing.

Some level of permanency shouldn't need to be encouraged, it should just be.

This changes almost nothing on that regard. I'm not saying its not nice to have, but its not even a solution to that at all.
