posted a message on It looks like the skill UI is here to stay
    Quote from Serpenth

I don't think anybody wants the UI but as I've posted before; is it really worth waiting another month for them to change it and test it again? They feel the game is ready for release and I agree. The skill UI (While horrible) is perfectly functional and I'd rather play with it and have the game sooner. It can be addressed in a patch along with chat channels which according to Bashiok seems to be the plan.

I really wouldn't call it a sad sad day as it shouldn't ruin anyone's experience. The only problem I see is the limitation of where you can bind certain keys which I feel is really stupid. Yet most of the spells that I've seen you wouldn't want to bind to your mouse but I guess players have the right to do so.

I don't agree whatsoever. It completely kills my experience and I would -never- consider this UI release worthy if I was in charge. In fact, there's lots of some of the most simple things they just refuse to tackle that are not release worthy. Sometimes I wonder where standards went.

I would never stop to grind, except for a few small runs if I think that could (somehow) help. I'd rather stop playing and start over than waste precious time of my life on something as boring as grinding.

Thats not a good thing. Blizzard has thrown so many excuses and now, the sad, sad community has bought it all and see has they do.

posted a message on So they updated the Talent calc
The process was all set in motion the moment they decided to implement it. Separate teams on the website probably work on replicating the in-game changes in such a way. The changes are done: They can't just sit back and wait for the next UI to be done. People want that calculator.

I mean, it was a blow that they thought this UI was good yeah, nearly unbelievable, but that it was implemented in the calculator doesn't actually mean anything further, if you ask me.

Heck, the calculator has some improvement. I can actually see all the skills in one click.

On a more serious note, I understand the reason they are making these choices. Almost all of the things they are changing are to make the game more accessible and enjoyable to more people. Sadly, this sometimes means that experienced or even average gamers like the game less as a result. Yes, they want to sell as many copies as they can, get as many people to like the game as they can. Those are their reasons, they're logical and understandable
No, they most certainly are not. This day and age of gaming is dark exactly because even the very people buying the games actually look at it this way. No wonder the gaming world is such garbage.

Basically, you're just one more of that brainless mass that prefers to be addicted to something like its a drug and call it good for that. Addiction isn't good, its pathetic.

posted a message on Can you re-bind movement?
There's a new "move" key, separate from the left mouse button, that can be binded to anything you want, but it works exactly like left click.

posted a message on Basic Attack in D3
No reason to use ranged weapons with witch doctor? Wand for wizards? Melee for either?

I don't give a flying ass what they do to this game to remove this. I want my basic attack on 1 and a new hotkey so I don't NEED to use one of my skill with the left mouse button which is atrocious.

This is basic stuff. Anything else is unacceptable. I don't know why the hell anyone would think otherwise, have some god damn standards.

posted a message on When will the new skill calculator be up?
God I hope they don't update it or if they do, they don't make change its appearance. Its the only official place I can still actually see what the fuck I'm doing. If they make it as bad as in the game, it won't be worth using.

posted a message on How do you feel about new skill UI ?
You say it doesn't break the experience, but imo it does. I'm disgusted everytime I open the menu and try to navigate it, or try to look at my options, or anything. Its absolutely, incredibly bad, so much that the first time I saw it and realized I couldn't bind what I wanted anywhere, I quit. Thats actually how I react to other games with such crappy UI or systems: If you don't get basic stuff right, I expect the worse out of the game and immediately want to stop playing.

The only reason I came back is because I know D3 is fun to actually play. But that doesn't help how bad it is. I mean, there's bad, there's really bad, and then somewhere deep down there's this UI. I've been expressing disgust for a lot of smaller things, so I don't know how I can exaggerate my point enough for how I feel about this horror.

We can't use normal attacks anymore?

You can use it, by default its on right click, but once you put a skill over it its gone, and you can't get it back. I'm also sure they will bring it back.

The entire thing would be fine when elective mode is off.

When its on however, SERIOUS changes are needed. Different UI, unlocked bars, and all skills in one place. You can still already achieve anything you want, except you can't use normal attacks, and you can't put a skill a on hotkey until you unlock it (which is ridiculous). The customization isn't gone, its just a heck of a lot more pain.

posted a message on elective mode not working in beta
This UI with elective mode, how everything is split per hotkey and how hotkeys are locked is literally unplayable.

I just can't play like that. Its ridiculous. Its so ridiculous its hilarious, especially when they said THEMSELVES they didn't want us fighting over the UI. Oh my GOD the irony.
