I like the Shannara Series by Terry Brooks. Great author, wonderful books.
He wrote a series about a fantasy world set after "The Great Wars," filled with magic and such. Then he wrote a new series based in our world where magic was starting to surface. And finally he wrote a series inbetween, connecting the two. So you get to read about our world falling apart and turning into a new world of magic. Pretty awesome. His stories are spread out over like 3000 years with the link connecting all of them being the magic and evolution of the races (Elves, Trolls, Dwarves, Gnomes, Man.) Quite different since you don't actually follow the characters through different books. Or if you do they're older and you're now reading about their grand children or decendents. Very good series.
Is there any other new content besides the Essences? I've been told the essences drop from the following bosses:
Essence of Suffering (Andariel/Duriel)
Essence of Hatred (Mephisto)
Essence of Terror (Diablo)
Essence of Destruction (Baal)
If you cube them all apparently you get a Token of Absolution which is a respec. If this is seriously the only new content there is I'm not sure I'm going to play anymore lol.
SC2 is sure to blow the socks off the rest of the PC gaming market; MW2 is nothing. You thought millions of sweaty teenagers lined up for that 3peat, wait until SC2 hits the shelves. It wil be the true return of PC gaming.
People fail to realize that PC gaming is NOT dead, blizzard is just sleeping.
Who else remembers when SC:BW and D2LOD and WCIII AND WOW were all top hits?
You used to be able to type a random string of keys "asdfadfhadfgsDFASFDH" as the gamename in d2, and it would already exist!!
or a run would say "dankbaal-002" 1 person. When you join, it would be full.
Remember having to wait anxiously for hte joingame list to refresh? Now its just 15 games, 8 bots and 7 people looking for ptorches.
