Well the Witch Doctor is from Teganze. That sounds an aweful lot like Tanzania or Zimbabwe (both are countries in Africa near the Congo), so I think its pretty safe to say that the Doc is almost certainly a black gentleman. So i doubt there'll be anymore black added to the palette, so to speak...
That being said, I think the next two races will likely be white/European and middle eastern (both racially and stylistically). Diablo has traditionally been a midieval style came with knights and peasants, and kings, and the like... And thus far, players are unable to play as the traditional "knight" character in D3. Adding these two races would give the game that recognizable crusade-esque feel that we all know so well...
Dont get me wrong, I'm not advocating the addition of of these races, I'm just sayin'...
I actually think a Romanian (Transylvanian) character would be pretty cool... although i dont like the idea of vampires in Diablo, i think a Vampire Hunter D style character would be pretty cool. And I'm really just talking style here, what with the cross-bows, daggers, black trench-coat, talking hand, and what-not...

Anyway, speaking of craaab people, i'll bet one of the next classes is a very Jewish Dr. Zoidberg.

Honestly, the way people have interpreted what i wrote is not actually what i had in mind. What i meant was that the king would be human. Demons killed everybody in his kingdom and he bareley escaped with the help of his closest guards through a secret passage behind the throne room... I just like the discussion that followed and the new ideas, so i didnt correct anybody.
In retrospect there are a few things i would change about the character though.
I think it would be better served as a prince/princess, and only had 2-3 guards... maybe 2 melee and a ranged/magic user... well, i hope that clears it up :)
Alos on a side note, i think the prince's armors and whatnot would look really cool as he progressed thtough the game. Starting out he would have chain mail etc (not too different from the paly in D2), but his final armors would be very intricate and royal and king-like (probably golden with a crown on the helmet).

This is just a thought, but I'll bet blizzard is going to try to be politically correct and throw a little racial diversity in with at least one of the 2 remaining characters.
My money is on either a stereotypical Asian or a stereotypical Native American type character.
If they go with the Asian, im sure he will either be a ninja, a samurai, or a Buddhist.
If they go with the Native American, he'll probably be a tracker/ranger who uses ranged weapons (bow and arrows) and talks to animals, or some kinda religous Shaman.

Both have the option of melee combined with of some sort of mystical ethnic magic/religion...

Anyways, i could be completely wrong, and i quite often am, but let me know what you think...

On a side note, i also would not be suprised if they threw a Ibn (Antonio Banderas) from 13th warrior style character in there somewhere...

Ok, how about having 2 guards? and one skill-tree devoted to each. That would also keep the guards from being the same...

And just on a side note, each of the guards wouldnt be as powerful as the hero, just as the necromanvers minions werent as powerful... good points though... :)

and on another side note, the king would be a hero. I bet he was a rowdy warrior back in his day, and he ruled a large kingdom for many years, lol... now hes just a little past his prime and needs a little help from his loyal followers ;)

ok, i think a good way to start this would be to first tell how it could fit into the lore of D3...

the character would be the former king of a kingdom destroyed by demons and minions and what-not... After days/weeks of battle, the king escaped death with the help of 5 or 6 of his most loyal servants/guardians. After traveling across some deserts or oceans or whatever he lands in the Tristram area of Sanctuary...

    Well, that was easy.

    Ok, so here's the deal:
The fallen king would be a melee character with 5 or 6 guardians. One of the kings skill-tree's would be devoded to making his guardians stronger, such as buffs, auras, damage bonuses, and the like. The player would also be able to equip each of these guardians with various weapons and armors. (p.s. i know the characters in the game will already get mercs... after purchasing a merc, he would just be like one of the crew. When a merc is acquired, it would follow along like it normally would with any other character. Actually, the guardians would essentially work the same way as mercs....)

The 2nd skill tree would probably be for the "king's" melee attacks. You know, faster hit recovery, faster attack speed, that kinda generic b.s.

Im sure there are plenty of cool things for the third skill-tree as well, but i think you get the point already. :)

Pros of a "fallen King" caracter:
--It would quench many people's thirst for a necromancer or a summoner.
--You would be able to customize each of the "guardians" individually, thus making your quest for good armors/weapons all the more exciting...
--It would give the option of another melee style character without just being another paly or barbarian...
--If you had four of these guys playing co-op, it would be a cool, action packed battle of an army of good vs. an army of darkness (for the bruce campbell fans out there...)
--It would be plumb rowdy in PvP. Could you imagine two of these guys with their decked out guardians going at it on the battle field? It would be chaos, lol.

    Cons:
--If you had 4 fallen kings playing the same level, there would be a lot of fighting going on all over the damn place. It might be kinda hard to follow... However, i dont think it would be as confusing as multiple necros with 40 minions apiece on D2...
--People playing as the "fallen king" would think they could just tell everybody what to do ;)

Well, let me know what you think (and remember that its all really just in good fun... I mean, im sure blizzard isnt going to read this and grab it up and put it in the game, lol) so enjoy!

I definately see what you guys are sayin... i dont think its just the paly revisited, though. For instance, imagine a character build that can cast a shroud of darkness over enemies to lower their visability (or other attributes). Then he could cast darkness onto himself to hide him from view. That combonation would make the character all but invisible. Then he would rush in duel-wielding (limited to one hand weapons), and start wrecking shop. Obviosly the melee damage wouldnt be as strong as the barbarian, but coupled with spells, it would be a fun character to play (well, hopefully more fun and different for you guys than the paly...).

On a side note, i know clerics are only supposed to use blunt objects or whatever. i'm just generically using the term "cleric" to describe a character that has both melee and magical skills.

On another side note, i think i may have been unclear earlier when i said the "light" skill tree would be very "team oriented." what i meant was that spells, buffs, etc. in this skill tree would be for the character casting them, but they would also help any team members who may be in range. In other words, this skill tree would still be very useful in solo play. Thanks for the comments everybody! :)

Thanks Zhar for the welcome, :). I agree with you both and thanks for the comments.

Quick edit: I think the character at higher levels would be able to cast a spell of darkness/light, surrounding the chracter in darkeness or light, making him more powerful... and the higher the level, the longer the spell would last. Really, i guess it would almost be like the druid turning into a wearwolf and becoming more powerful for a period of time...

Ok, i may be a complete idiot for thinking this, but i would like to see a malee character that also utilizes magic. I've noticed a lot of people comment that they would like to see the paladin and the necro make a return... I doubt either of them will. And i think this might be a feasable (sp?) solution:
The character would be clerical in nature with one skill tree being light magic and one skill tree being dark magic. The third skill tree (assuming there will be 3), will be dedicated to melee attacks.
Should the player choose the light magic, the player would have auras that would heal team member, buffs, and other defensive attributes. Kinda like the paly. Also, the higher level light magic "cleric" may even emit light which would be visable by other players (increasing their light radius). This would be a very team-oriented skill tree.
The dark magic tree would be more offensive in nature. He could have auras that would increase damage to enemies, and probably some kind of life leach attributes. Higher level dark magic "clerics" would have a darkness surrounding them, which would also be visable to the other players.
Basically, the character would specialze in smaller weapons, shields, and maybe have the option to duel wield (?), being less powerful physically, but slightly faster than the barbarian.

Finally, i think what would make it cool is if the light skill tree is chosen, the characters skills would be more powerful in the lighter areas of the game, such as outside, near fires, and and in well-lit cathedrals, etc. The darker "cleric" would be more powerful in the darker areas of the game such as dungeons, and shadows, etc.
When not in their element (i.e. a dark "cleric" in a brightly lit room) the player could cast darkness, which would veil the "cleric" in shadows temporarily, thus increasing his/her skill power.

I dont know if D3 will have daytime and nighttime (like on WoW), but depending on the time of day, you have to use different spells.

Anyway, I think it would be a good alternative to bringing back our beloved paladin or necro... if its worth discussing, let me know what you think... If not, well i guess thats cool too.
