Lol, the vast majority of PvP players care nothing about balance, they just spam hammers then claim that it's all about skill. There is very little skill involved in D2 PvP anymore, it's all about items.

Lol so true, but i was talking about other pvp games, where they are hardcore and everyone has played enough to get the best of the most popoular types of sets making skill count. Diablo 3 (i hope) wont have a case of hammers and will be carefully made

I have no idea what you just said.

Oh lol, umm... If you Make a character, and you think he is good, and you enter pvp late-game and get pwnt in the face, you go and see why.
When you figure out that its because the pve people have just played mind numbingly for weeks without sleep, you may have to do the same (grinding) to make a difference, making all aspects of the pvp stage boring.

Die continuously, or grind till your braindead to not die.

From what ive seen, pvp lovers like ballance in order for their skillz to make a difference in the tide of battle.

I played a build similar to that and used Bone Wall and Bone Prison to keep monsters away and the monsters would kill themselves by the curses. It was a fun build.

Another Build I played was the Pacifist Barbarian. Let the Merc do all the killing and just use his Warcries and Passives to either boost the Merc or to tank better.

First character i played was the pally, i went straight for what i thought would be the most powerful instead of being creative *ashamed* Turns out being a zealadin is actually powerful now! (with the right aura set =/ )

PvP definately. I like both, but PvP keeps me entertained for a long time. Can only AI monsters so many times before you get bored.

You have to admit that insignificance in pvp can drive you to grind for the most effective items, making teh game boring?

I prefer Single Player Hardcore over everything. So the closest thing is PvE.

I never liked PvP. It never interested me. I do not mind it being in the game.

I like to play games at my own pace and quite often I like to build builds that people say are crappy and take great pleasure taking them as far as I can get.

Pvp for the ragers/showy and Pve for the visually needy...
Yea full game experience for me all the way. But should you devote yourself to making your perfect build; showing it off from time to time at endgame can be satisfying.

Pvp has its flaws and is risky, requiring a painfully large amount of changing in trying to stop everyone from choosing the most effective build. While Pve and co-op, while needing a more frequently changing atmosphere to stay interesting, needs very little (i would think).

As for the picture that Zhar has in the OP, that pic looks solid to me. I'm sold on that look. However, the ones I viewed at Blizz's D3 dot com site were not as forgiving. I'm of the like mind with some people here that the armor look for her, and by that, yes, I mean the shoulderpads/pauldrons, is a bit off. That aside, the concept art for the female monk is decent enough - by looks, you know she's a woman, and by skills in battle, you know that she could probably hold her own against someone like...say, Xena.

Practical realistic monk armour doesnt do it for me; big dangley symbolic pendants are the way to go.
p.s. I would love to see a monk pull some cheezy move and pull out a still beating heart from some beefy classic winged demon.

Love the silver hair, great idea. She certainly looks like what i would imagine a fem-monk would be like following diablo lore.

im happy to say that charging skills were not a problem in endgame for my driud; being fast enough to charge up off outside creeps. but in d3 it may be a different story due to the likely uncrappy pvp (having no outside monster influence).

i was sure that only one damage reduciton item worked and didnt stack in any way with the others. Otherwise people would be striving for 100%. or does it stack and lose % with each starting from the highest % in one item. (simalar to the armour system in wc3)

posted a message on Skill System Changes to Affect Respecs
i like the idea of being able to experiment with trees without releveling a character of the same class more than once

looking around, i like the wow approach to respecing. dual specs sounds like a fun idea, and it makes sense as far as i can see. as for the out of combat idea, for a replacement they could add a 1min penalty in swapping between these dual roles(or combat advantages as there is only one role in d3... kill stuff).

though this may not work with the new skill distribution style, but an alternative will be a refreshing change.

u get pulverised and facemelted. then after, what's left over is turned inside out and explodes after your bones are squeezed out. fun! =D

The boss bitch-slaps you to the ground and holds you down as he casts an Ice beam at you, you struggle but in the end are frozen trying to sit up with one arm outstretched. Your corpse then becomes a permanent feature of the map. It would be cool if different people died in different positions so the battlefield could be littered with varied ice corpses.

    best...death...ever... *pose death*
