Feb 8, 2010Junction3 posted a message on Female Monk UpdateI like the concept of the female Monk. The best part about it is that she's not flaunting her stuff around like a whore. There is actually material covering her, which is almost astonishing seeing that its the female concept. On the other hand, would a monk flaunt their stuff to begin with?Posted in: News

Sep 24, 2009Junction3 posted a message on Character Energy SourcesI think that you should have to gain your MP. With my system layout you have to come into a battle starting with simple spells and as you continue using them you build up more MP as your glyphs refresh. When you get enough MP you can unleash a complex, powerful spell on whatever you're killing.Posted in: News
You saying that they should have glyphs and always have the MP, you could come into battle using complex, powerful spells. Then, assuming your MP would be regenerating, you can continue using those spells. Basically there would be no point to have the glyphs as you would never need to use simple spells.
@Seth, since quoting seems to be a pain on my phone. There would be 2 glyphs per tree. 6 total. I don't know if you meant 5 total or 5 per tree. But giving you buffs on top of it just being you source of energy would be to over powered, I would think. -
Sep 24, 2009Junction3 posted a message on Character Energy SourcesI agree that the wiz would feel better using mana and the WD using soul or whatever as their energy power, but since blizz said that the WD would be using mana, it leaves me excited to see what the wiz will use.Posted in: News
While working this graveyard shift at work I wrote down some simple ideas for what the wiz could use as their energy power. Basically, it's the DK rune system from WoW, but fitted for D3. Bear with me and my cheesy names.
They would have 1 or 2 'glyphs', depending on what would work better for the feel and pace of D3, at their disposal. 1 or 2 storm, arcane and conjure for each of their trees. Also, like the DK's rune system, they would have 'Mental Energy', at their disposal.
As they use a certain spell it would activate a glyph that would reward them with a certain ammount of Mental Energy. For a simplier spell such as an 'ice bolt' or a 'lighting bolt' (for lack of real spells) it would activate 1 of their glyphs and give them about 10 or so Mental Energy. Now, as spells become more complex and more powerful, the requirements to use them becomes more demanding. So, as you move to things like 'metoer' and 'chain lightning' it might cost 2 glyphs, like 1 storm and 1 conjure, and on top of the glyphs it could use Mental Energy. Even some spells could rely on just using only Mental Energy and have cooldowns on the spells to prevent excessive usage.
Just my thoughts, but I think that the DK's rune system would work well with the wiz for D3. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

Btw, Scyber, I was unsure of where the machine exploded in relation to the world. I assumed the US and furthermore, the east coast and even furthermore, NYC, NY. If I am wrong then I'll have to change where I live. Please let me know. If it said it, then I am retarded, but I feel like we might have discussed this outside of dfans.

Name: Christopher Williams
Age: 29
Gender: Male
Physical Description: Although the world has been ripped apart, Chris luckily avoided any physical harm. He bares no scars or injuries from "the Collapse". He is decently tall, and is slightly muscular, but nothing defined. He typically is well shaven, but in these times, hygiene comes second to survival. His hair is either buzzed or short and starting to thin at an early age. His eye site isn't the best and he is forced to wear glasses.
Job: Chris was a stay at home dad, taking care of his 5-year old twin daughters and his 7-year old son. Since his wife was the only source for income in the family, Chris wasn't able to live a life of luxury and even though the technology exists and is well practiced, he suffers from hair loss and bad eye site.
Background: He grew up in a typical family based town and attended the community college after high school. He meet his future wife, Amy, and they got married shortly after he graduated from college, four years later. After his wife and him settled down into a nice house just outside of Flagstaff, Arizona, they decided to have kids. His wife birthed their son, Jayden, and two years later, their twin daughters Taylor and Jacqueline.
Amy and the girls went to witness the unveiling of the new machine that was going to change the way the world was reborn, evidently, they were killed during the explosion. Chris and Jayden stayed home to watch it on TV and after the explosion their house was shaken by the explosion leading to collapse. Jayden and Chris made it out of the house before it collapsed, but Jayden was injured and fell ill from the injury. With the recent events and medical support being stretched so thin, Jayden died a week and a half later.
After the tragedies that Chris had endured, he found himself wandering the local area in search of any kind of path to lead him somewhere. With the rest of the town dead or already gone, he attempted to make his own path. Months after "the Collapse" he had heard talk on old style radios of groups of people join together to better their chances of survival, but he could not bare to part with his son.
Reason for Joining: Finally a group of people ventured through Flagstaff and he found it easier to leave with other people than to leave to go to find them.
Equipment: Chris wears typical cloths, including a T-shirt and jeans along with college sweats. However, he possess two very handing piece of equipment; an GTI EverDepth2 Pouch and a GTI P-89 Instant Water Purifier. Inside his pouch he carried other various object, mostly memorabilia of his family and other mostly useless items.
