I don't know guys... I think the BESERKER would be awesome. His wicked attack is what Jay Wilson is afraid of in the Gameplay video!

Thanks!!! That's awesome. I can do whatever I want now pretty much.

Ok, so forgetting about the whole talent point calculaters, seeing as they mean nothing really now, using the skill trees for looking at different skills, What skills in combination do you think will rock???

Those trees are radically out of date. I think it was either in one of Bashiok's posts or in BlizzCast 8 that they told us that all three trees are now one and that spending points in the first tier of Battlemaster will unlock the second tier of Berserker, etc.

Can you find the source on that? That'd be cool to see where they said that. I'll go try and find it.

Here are the 3 Barbarian skill trees at the moment, from Daemaro's thread in Class Discussion: "Φ Complete Barbarian Skill Tree! "
These are definitely not the final version, and you can find here why they are not : http://www.diablofans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18940

    Berserker Tree - Dual Wield/Speed : http://diablo3x.com/classes/barbarian/berserker-skill-tree
    Juggernaut Tree - Two Handers/Stun/Strength : http://diablo3x.com/classes/barbarian/juggernaut-skill-tree
    Battlemaster Tree - Weapon/Shield/Critical : http://diablo3x.com/classes/barbarian/battlemaster-skill-tree

Using those links to LOOK at the various skills, come up with some cool combinations. Don't worry about points and that kind of thing, just look at the skills and see which ones work best together.

Personally I like the idea of Frenzy, from the Beserker Tree and Cleave, from the Juggernaut Tree working together. What other skills do you guys see working together?

posted a message on Thinking about Disintegrate...
Hey! I just thought of something. I'm pretty sure Starcraft 2's Warp Rays (Protoss) work similarly to Disintegrate. They steadily increase damage until a point, where they are doing max damage. I'd imagine that Disintegrate would work similarly, where even if a boss or mini-boss was trapped by your wall of 3 barbarians, you could only be doing max damage of disintegrate per second, instead of having exponential damage on the beast.

I am pretty sure that this is NOT correct. I recently watched these videos and I distinctly remember him saying that the longer your beam is on a monster uninterrupted, more damage the beam does as a function of time. I remember him describing it as if you were heating the monster up so it would logically take more damage. Now, you may think that this is over powered, but consider this. You are a mage, and as such, you probably can't take much of a beating. So if it were you vs. the thousand pounder, you wouldn't be able to just sit there and fry him. He would run up to you and smash your brains out. For this reason, you aren't going to be doing uncontrollable amounts of damage.

It's a cool spell idea, and I'd imagine it burns lots of mana per second, so it could obviously be balanced, just like everything else. Like umtwademel said, this kind of spell won't help too much against a boss or mini-boss with the AI system, (unless the boss has summons, of course) because they are moving so much that you probably cant stand in one place for too long. Check out the last battle in the gameplay video- Constant movement with an occasional fireball.

Personally, I don't think we can say it's overpowered until the game comes out in 2010. Cause that's when they are releasing it. They said it was possible for 2 releases, and they weren't going to say the names of those two. I swear, if they throw in an expansion of WoW I will be pissed.

WoW is not going to die anytime soon. Its population is still growing, and I believe 2 more expansions are expected by the majority of the community.

Bnet has been confirmed free, with possible "special" features that requires you to pay, but no need to pay to play online.

Has Bnet been confirmed free!? AWESOME! :offtopic:

Ok, yea, I wouldn't worry too much about Blizzard's plans. They will release a game when it's ready. However, I doubt they will release Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 within 3-4 months. They already said they would release Starcraft 2 by the first half of 2010 and my guess is they will release Diablo 3 the second half of 2010. If not 2010, then 2011. Any more waiting and I'll be pissed cause i'll have to play during college...

I think the bow class will be some kind of desert warrior

    Nice concept art

Wow you seem to have the same idea as blizzard. Check out the other thread in Class Discussions. "There's your ranged class!"

It kind of looks like Prince of Persia, with a bow. haha

    Hmm... Perhaps, nahh.
I'd still like to see Diablo's sword from the first one as a real item, not a hacked one... As for sets? Tyrael sounds cool, but he's not dead yet... but all of his equipment is sick!
Hmm, I know. They'll make a SoulStone set, where you can collect Diablo's Soulstone and Baal's and Mephistos and you can stick em into your forhead and become those demons! Mwhahaha.

    Ok but no. Tyrael Set.

posted a message on Barb = Awesome!
As long as this is on a Barbarian thread, I'll just like to say that spellcasters, although more strategical, are often found running around casting spells, and can't take any damage. If there's anything I hate when playing games, its running away, and I'd imagine that you'd get tired of using Slow Time, running past, then bombarding the enemies with magic missles, and then doing it all over again. Well for me anyways that gameplay just pisses me off.

So I'll stick to the hand-to-hand combat with my barbarian, and just go on rampage, not even worrying about mana, but about FURY!

    BARBARIAN is the BEST!

    Quote from "Elyk" »
I think we need a type of class made specifically for swords without being too much like the paladin. Better yet, a class that can either be a bowman or a swordsman depending on what skills you choose.

He is very rugged, kind of like you picked him up from the tavern or something.
You know what, just think Aragorn from Lord of the Rings. Almost exactly like him. I know, not very original, but we need a hero like that. In D1 and D2, your heroes were just... there. They didn't have any character or anything, they were just heroes bent on saving mankind. I mean, sure, you hit the keypad, they said something cool, but that's about as far as it went.

The way I'd want the story to evolve is that your hero starts out in his homeland, does a couple cave runs, comes back, then the main events of the story start out, just to give a sense of knowing who your character really is.

Okay, back to the class. I'd want his skills to be mostly combat, some healing, and then some minion summoning, such as wolves and maybe some Wendigos or Blood hawks.

    What do you guys think?

Wow, you know, I couldn't have said this better myself. It's kind of funny, cause i was thinking about the exact same thing (excluding the summoning, but a minor pet or something) and I came up with the same name, Ranger, and the same description as Aragorn from Lord of the Rings. Man that is strange! In a good way I suppose.

Another weird thing is that today I was thinking that I'd like to see a sole-swordsmanclass, like a blademaster or something. Man you have the exact same ideas I had, but I guess more courage for starting a thread.

posted a message on Life Leach in D3
    Quote from "Ivaron" »
Health orbs are the new life leach. It's the exact same mechanic, except a little more pro-active on the side of the player instead of passively gaining health all the time. Imo it's better.

It adds more thinking and action to the game. Instead of having the knowledge that you will get a certain amount of life back and live versus the uncertainty of a life orb drop that will mean life or death... It's kind of obvious why Blizzard would not add life leach,

DESPITE how EASY it is eh Equinox?

posted a message on getting cornered
The path of the Barbarian, the Wizard, and the Witchdoctor is not to flee. It is to annihilate all in the way. If you are cornered, a cheetah on a tree surrounded by boars, then lash out! Fight to the death, and hopefully a couple of health orbs will drop after an AOE spell or two.

Be strategical. As much as Diablo 3 will be a hack and slash game, it also is a tactical game. Just press the button on the wall and have the chandelier crush them all! Like Zhar said, "Don't stand by a f@#$ing corner" I guess that's good advice if you have a choice in the matter. And like Ahrek said," Always have an escape strategy."

So be smart, be strategical, and most importantly, have fun :D
