posted a message on Who did Diablo II rip off?
I don't think Diablo II ripped off anyone in the sense that it is a game based on killing hordes of monsters. Furthermore it is an extremely item based, which in my opinion made it extremely special. I have played a few other RPG's like soulstone but it has never given me the same satisfaction as d2 lod. If anything, other RPG's like d&d and all that have ripped off diablo, but the dark atmosphere, gameplay as well as storyline cannot be made better in other RPGs...IMO.

posted a message on [Blizzard] Diablo Prices over the years
Well, I'm taking my economics class next semester..so i'll get back at you..lol

Also, a good computer game hasn't sold for $20 in a long time. Most of the games sell for $40-$50.

I normally buy console games, and those are about $60.

    Lol, this is marketing, buddy.

posted a message on [Blizzard] Diablo Prices over the years
Normally a game's price goes down a few dollars after a year or two

You're talking about a price strategy called "price skimming". Remember when the Iphone used to cost around $800 0r whatever. What companies tend to do is sell at a ridiculous premium, wait for people to stop buying, then lower the price for those who are price sensitive. This tends to be the approach of most gaming companies, but I think Blizzard used a penetration strategy and to capture a large market share and keep it that way. IMO, thats why we haven't witnessed a decrease in price...

posted a message on Whats wrong with d2 LOD?
Exactly, making a PvP sin was much less viable, and much more expensive than making other builds. Builds should be relatively similar in strength, and overall cost.
Hence the lack of class balance I mentioned.

I've heard a lot of problems but to me, LoD is a sick game. The reason why everyone has a problem with it is because its been overplayed. You play for two months, make a hammerdin, a sorc, a barb and theres pretty much no where to go. Levelling to 99 isnt cool at all. But think about the first first time you EVER played it. The first time you played the sin and druid. Don't tell me it wasn't fun. D2 LoD was not meant to be an MMORP, the reason for which gold is only useful in single player. The game isnt even about killing monsters using awesome spells anymore. Its only about getting godly gear, which is why everyone has a problem with it

posted a message on Weapon Creation/Customization in Diablo III
Anyone feel like being able to customize the appearance of your weapon/shield/armor would be a sick idea?? I thought that would be really cool, and the only way we were able to do it in d2 was through jamella and other similar programs. Maybe even being able to change the attributes of the item could add a new dimension to the game, provided blizzard manages to implement a system with limitations, in the sense that you cant add 10k lightning damage, etc.

posted a message on I'm missing a dark class bad
I'm totally with you on that one. I thought the assassin was kinda dark too but i mean it has to go way beyond that. I always thought of some demon worshiper gone rogue would be pretty bad ass or the dread knight, which was a actually a concept developed by fan art.
