Personally, I think the only people bitching about vanity stores are the ones that game too much to actually work and earn money.
There is absolutely NO reason to prevent vanity items from being sold by blizzard. None. Whatsothefuckever.
Vanity Items (for non english speakers) is being defined as different clothes, some pet that cannot do anything but follow you, some set of wings, or a lame looking guitar skin to disguise your weapon.
Purchasing said items have absolutely no effect on gameplay other than allowing customization... the same customization most diablofans scream as necessary.
So freaking what if your broke-ass cannot afford it. So what if you cannot give your female barbarian angel wings. Who cares... you get the benefit off some nerdy girl who decided to actually purchase it, and therefore prolong the life of Diablo 3.
As for other items sold in game store, I still see no problem with it. As long as you do not have to pay for actual patches or content. Dungeons and Dragons Online does a decent F2P system other than expecting you to pay for new zones, classes, races, etc (i'd rather this be in expansions than new content that has to be purchased every 3 months).

I do not give a fuck about your arguments about removing LAN and mods.
Blizzard did not make this decision to personally fuck over you mod players. They made it to fuck over the pirates.
If you are a pirate, then as a software professional I'm saying this to you, Go fuck yourself, and burn in hell.
As for whether or not they supports mods, I do not give a shit. But your arguments about eliminating LAN play fucking you over just piss me off.
** And yes I know I used the f-bomb 5 times within this post, and normally would be considered excessive. I just really need to emphasize this point. -

would have the same concerns had i not known they're making a Star Wars game compatible, not sure if it's Force Unleashed II or something else. you obviously need to move, exactly as you should move playing Diablo. perhaps moving your hand in a certain pattern for each spell? (very much like Harry Potter did for Wii with spells). i don't know, really, just brainstorming here. They didn't even say it was gonna be Diablo III, could be just some sword/shield, dual wielding, spell slinging action kind of slaughter game they're thinking of.
I personally think the move would be more compatible with RPGs. The lack of buttons what so ever on the kinect makes it kind of hard to switch items/ switch spells/ use spells/ etc.
The move wand actually acts similiar to a mouse in that you can drag and drop, point click (it has a cursor in some games) and it comes with buttons. You also have the navigator which can be used to move using a stick.
Lastly, the kinect kind of lags compared to the move. The fact that it needs to BOTH draw a wireframe and then analyze each move of the wireframe per command takes a slight bit longer than just watching an orb move and apply a gyroscope. -
Nov 15, 2010Sabvre posted a message on Blizzard Explores ConsolesActually people are forgeting 3 things... :Posted in: News
1) PS3 and XBOX360 can both hook up mice / keyboards
2) The new motion sensor technology.... Specifically the PS3 Move. The wand can be used similiar to a mouse
3) Hack and slash = Click spamming on PC and button mashing on a controller. I can name a few PS1 and PS2 hack and slashes that were fun, and had multiple skills... -

My prediction: June 29th, 2011. Perhaps slightly sooner but no later. It just makes sense.
How come no one has mentioned that quote recently where Bash said something like "Who says its coming out in 2011 ;)"?
SC2 required a 2 month beta due to 2 factors:
1.) Test Battlenet2.0
2.) Balance for Tournament play
Diablo 3 may come with PVP yes... but IMHO Diablo was NOT ever designed to be a PVP game. This has been and always will be a PVE game with PVP as an add-on.
This being said... who is to say that they even require an open beta? Why couldn't they release it in time for the holidays and draw the Xmas revenue? -

Do you really want to see the old hag of a female witchdoctor blowing anything? -

But for me, the weapons will always "fit" the character that I am playing, because most of the time that is reason for playing the particluar character. Example, I will play a Barbarian in order to use 2h swords, axes, mauls, etc...but if I want to use a wand/staff it would be a necro or sorc...I dunno if that makes sense, but thats how I feel. Though it wouldnt stop me from playing around some
I agree mostly; however, the conjuration wizard DOES need to be able to break the common mold. This is the true battle mage !!! -
Mar 4, 2010Sabvre posted a message on Weapons, Pick Your PoisonPosted in: NewsQuote from "MasterMorality" »Does anybody else find the mental picture of a barbarian throwing down with a massive demon with a little wand in his hand really funny? I'd like to see that just for the laughs.
Also, technically, it does make sense for a Barbarian to use a bow and arrow. Why? Because as a 'survival in the harsh wilderness' culture, you're going to need to hunt your food down. A fair amount of the time that'd mean shooting it. It's not as far fetched as you'd think. Also, things like Longbows - firing an arrow from one of those takes a LOT of strength. The people doing it on the battle field would probably be built like brick shit houses.
just think about the mongolians of the Ghengis Khan era. They were notorious for their mounted archers. -
Mar 3, 2010Sabvre posted a message on Weapons, Pick Your PoisonPosted in: NewsQuote from "VladDracul" »Yea but how many people are gonna use a skill point on that? Unless it is always given to the character, but how do they explain it for a WD?
Well.... think about how it would be a synergy of the conjuration skill tree. Weapon damage increases spell power.... being able to wield more melee damage therefore increases spell damage as well. It makes sense if played right -
Mar 3, 2010Sabvre posted a message on Weapons, Pick Your PoisonPosted in: NewsQuote from "VladDracul" »You really think they are gonna add in some animation or a skill to allow the Wizard to carry and wield that sword or are we supposed to just assume that the Wizard is using magic to wield it? WD should have a scythe, altho I am sure it would be hated on because the Scythe looked the best on a Necro and Barb, what he should really have it like a Pickaxe type weapon like a short scythe.
They could always do something like the Arcane Warrior Spec of the Mage in Dragon Age.... give a passive that allows you to base the str stat of items off the magic stat -
Mar 3, 2010Sabvre posted a message on Weapons, Pick Your PoisonPosted in: NewsQuote from "Zhar" »Well no, but if they're excluding weapons due to "flavor" reasons, and the wizards use wands because they feel magical, then it's pretty safe to say that since the barbarian utilizes damn near no magic, that they won't be beating down demons with a wand.
I hope the WD gets wands... seems to fit him very well.
You know... know that i read your initial post some more... bashiok mentioned that the wand is going to have projectiles. This makes me wonder if the wand is going to be similiar to the wand in torchlight? -
Mar 3, 2010Sabvre posted a message on Weapons, Pick Your Poisonthe main benefit i can see to a wizard using a 2-hander is the fact that they typically deal the most damage. The conjuration tree seems to be based alot more on weapon damage, and so the 2-handed sword should imensely increase spell damage !!!!Posted in: News
i could really give a shit less if the monk can't wield a bow, or a dagger, or a maul... I like the weapons they already picked for him. Kinda stays in line with kung fu movies!!!
its the witch doctor i'm having trouble picturing wielding much more than a dagger, wand, staff, or 1 handed axe. I think it would look stupid to see the parkinson laden old boggy wielding a 2 handed sword, maul, spear etc.... -

Sep 15, 2009Sabvre posted a message on Blizzard's Next MMO Will Have "Broader Appeal".WoW is not casual play. Only WoW sheep would say that. If you don't logon, you are wasting money... you have to pay per month and not per logon..... it forces people to logon and continue to play. Also.. have you ever been to busy to play for around a month... your guild has left you behind and or probably kicked you out.Posted in: News
As for casual play, as someone already said it woudl be like the sims. I think it could be like "real Life" or a online version of "society" (without the rl people, if you've seen the movie gamer. I think this can draw in non fantasy genre people, and they could still add a fantasy section too it. I don't know... i'm curious to see what ANY next gen mmo would be. Pretty much every single MMO on the market has teh same style play and engine.... - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

Alchemy for the second xpac artisan anyone?
On that note, the more I think about it... the faster I think we will see Diablo 3 xpacs now. Blizzard spent the first year band aiding the game (only to remove/redo many of the band aids in patch 2.0).
Seems to me that as long as RoS doesn't differ the same nerd rage that vanilla did.. they can focus on newer content.

You only have 4 rolls to get the 4 you need instead of 6. So miles is right... it's less likely.
Also note, you CANNOT roll the above 4 at the same time as vitality and/or AR.
Quadfecta means no defensive rolls.
0
All items have primary and secondary rolls now. Primary are damage and defense only; whereas, secondary is everything else. This means that a health globe roll/etc is not competing against an average damage/crit/crit damage/etc roll. You cannot have six damage stats any more... and therefore a non damage start is now worthwhile.
0
Classes need distinctions. Making barbs and monks the only dual wielders differentiates them from crusaders.
0
No. I'm fairly sure their shields are regular shields, just with crusader only rolls... and possibly slightly higher stats. If crusader shields gave + damage, it would make it the only choice and completely invalidate regular shields such as stormshield and lidless.

I semi agree. However, it's an upkeep fee for your having device.. and our sucks paying for online time if you don't log in.
My point really is that if they enforced online only... People would be forced to pay a quasi monthly fee to Sony (unless they waived it like elder scrolls online is being allows to do).

I don't think that will happen. That would require all purchasers to have ps+...

I wish I could buy the vita... but my wife made the PS4 a difficult purchase :(. However, I think I have her convinced on the vita TV whenever it releases.

I'll be honest and admit that I only have two people on my PSN friends list, but the system is a million times better than the ps3 friends system. It seems like applications can and do integrate it better.
That said... about 25% of the reason I bought the ps4 was for Diablo 3 on console. I enjoyed the demo on my PS3, but the graphics limitations and the impending ps4 release prevented me from buying it. In complete honesty, I will not be buying RoS on PC... and I used to be a PC gamer (and that's where I sunk my hundreds of Diablo 3 hours).
Its not because the console version is better... but because the PC crowd has become too tainted and whiny. Even with only 2 people on my PSN friends list, I would still rather migrate platforms to get away from the toxic, entitled community its becoming.... and most importantly the console crowd is willing to allow Blizzard to attempt to innovate rather than rage about changes from Diablo 2.
That said... how many other people are planning to buy the ps4 version?

Depending on how you try to axis this, I'd compare it to eliminating the safety nets and making everyone have to work.
0
This is such a silly argument. If I want to pull an analogy... No one forces me to go to work everyday; but , even if I hate my job... I still need to go in order to maintain a quality of life on parity with everyone else.
I damn well could lower my quality of life.. I could get welfare, live in section 8 housing, get food stamps (US rewards the lazy)... but I choose to work so I don't have to live in the ghetto, eat fatty processed food, and can afford to play video games.
People are always going to do things they don't like in order to improve their quality of life.

Just because you don't agree with me, my "logical" arguments are not invalidated.
