Yes you are. You've been whining about how unhappy you are with items for as long as I can remember reading these forums. Don't even try to pretend that you're not trying to be a debbie downer.Quote from ruksakSo I gather their lazy ass solution to these bad legs is to just add a 5th primary?
Lazy. That's really concerning. Not trying to be a debbie downer..

It's funny that you say that because this change, and many others (scorpion runs pre-2.0, Mira runs, cursed chest runs, etc.) have all been nerfed because, if left unaddressed, they become the defacto "right" way to play the game.Quote from BigEd781
DIII wants to steer you down a specific path at all times.
These things get nerfed because the way they "want" you to play the game is just to go out and kill monsters and feel relatively safe that if you choose Gardens of Hope Tier 1 and I choose the Weeping Hollow that neither of us has a massive advantage. Their "way" to play the game is that there shouldn't be a "right" way to play it, at least as it pertains to the question "Where should I farm?"
These things get nerfed because, if they don't, they LIMIT choices. If you're not doing CotA you may be having fun, but you're probably imposing a 50% XP penalty on yourself. If they did nothing they'd silently be endorsing, as Ruksak put it, Baal runs 2.0. Which, oddly enough, would be forcing us all down the same path. They're actually fighting for our ability to choose whatever path we want because all paths are (close to) the same.
That's kinda the opposite of trying to steer us down a specific path, isn't it? -

The nerf CAN'T be the problem when it pertains to XP/hr rates.Quote from BigEd781
No, I don't get it. You're blaming the players for the way that Blizz intervenes and nerfs stuff like this. I'm saying that the nerf is the problem, not the players.
When they designed the Paragon system they clearly had some general XP/hr rate in mind. Let's call that Y.
Now, let's just say they find out that CotA is equal to 2 * Y. They have two options:
1) Nerf the outlier
2) Buff *everything else* which also entails redoing the entire Paragon curve to take into account that people are now getting double the XP/hr that they had intended.
If you believe that 1 is not the proper solution then you're being argumentative because 2 is clearly not feasible or sustainable and also involves significantly more work. The reality of the situation is that outliers have to be nerfed otherwise all we end up in is some arms race. Something is 15% above everything else? BUFF. Something new is 17% ahead? BUFF.
All that accomplishes is pointless mudflation. We already have damage numbers in the millions. If the solution is "never nerf, always buff" then within a few months we'll be in the billions. What good does that serve? -

So what's lazy about that? They perceived a problem; they fixed it. Sounds like the complete opposite of Blizzard "being lazy" to me.Quote from FinderI'm not interested in arguing whether you think these are exploits or not.
The point is Blizzard thinks they are, and took care of them. -

Catalept posted a message on do you think boa will be removed?Yep. The sooner we get a functioning black-market economy with bots, trade-spam clogging up chat and forums, credit-card warriors, clan and community lists full of ad-hoc trading groups, the better... and I just can't imagine ladders being at all fun without all those factors concentrated by competitiveness!Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion -

Enty posted a message on How many expansions?I see them making One - 2 more expacs after ROS... Then just support. They've already stated this is the end of the trilogy, so any other Diablo games would be unrelated to this arc of the story. This doesn't mean that they will stop making Diablo related games, In fact quite the contrary, they could go on to create a Diablo RTS if they could make it work. OR maybe an MMO in the future. They open possibilities with this.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
As to "the game is shitty" Uh most people don't think that. Most people think this games pretty decent even with all its faults and problems. It will only get better so to say that ROS is shitty and that the next expac will be shitty too is a gross exaggeration that is far from the truth. And to think that your opinion is the majority opinion is also pretty stupid considering the people whining LIKE the game and WANT the game to do BETTER. What you're doing is just condemning it and saying this game sucks fuck it, That's much different from people saying "Put in PVP. Give us Necro, Fix Itemization." They at least provide constructive feedback that the team can use to better their game... you just give them shit for attempting to make you happy. IF you hate the game that much don't come back to the forums simple don't play the game and don't support the company. -

Yes. The reason is that people did not read the disclaimer of the beta. Here it is, copied from the invitation email:Quote from Artemix
There are always reasons behind all hate or rage, it's never one sided. It is a process, it doesn't spontaneously appears.
"While we’re inviting you to experience an early look at the development ofReaper of Souls, please keep in mind that the game is still changing and not everything you experience is guaranteed to make it to the final game. We’re still working on the game so you will see some bugs and unfinished bits."
Instead, people just went on to assume that what they had experienced on the PTR would be the final state of RoS and wasted billions on gear on live to be enchanted once RoS hits. And then they rage. There's the reason. It's a mistake based on misunderstanding the word "beta". It appeared spontaneously because it was a pretty unexpected change for some people (I think everyone who thought that Blizzard would allow 2500 DPS Chantodo's and 400 int WHs in RoS was always out of their mind).
Not sure what you mean by "one sided", however, it's a pretty ridiculous discussion anyways because no one's gonna talk about this anymore in 2 months when all 60 gear is replaced. I guess many of these people just want to blow off some steam, but eventually many of them will come back. Just let them rage... -

Decadaver posted a message on On Enchanting Legacy Gear (Repost)Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Already explained in this thread what it solves, the lvl 60 items arent competitive with everything, but its competitive against many items, many items that dont have perfect stats according to the vanilla model of gear, which was a mistake from the start and they want to go away from. Quadfeca rings, cannot exist anymore, they still gives more raw DPS than most of the lvl 70 loot bar the most rare and very best.Removing the option to dosen't solve anything. It just angers people. I'm sorry, but that is the truth.
Not solving it now is short sighting as seems to be the argument that it angers people, it angers people for like a month and than no one will care. They balanced themselves into a wall with crit/cd and AS. These stats were too over inflated on gear, if you keep adding expansion and inflating the number on the gear everytime, eventually everyones running around with 100% crit, 1000% crit damage and capped attack speed. If you dont add more of these stats every new tier, than no one even needs to get new gear.
They had 3 big ways to do that, remove the old crit/cd/ias as stats and turn them into rating that diminish in power for every level up you gain like in an MMO, so that you never hit the caps and need more of the stats that you find on stronger gear or do what they just did and kill the old itemisation mistake and make the dps rating much lower and spread out, meaning you can cap them, its harder, but youll be missing more stats doing it. The third one was having caps on these stats, caps that gear could not pass, people cried about that for pretty much the same reasons, "but my old gear", so they gave in and found something else. One way or another the old gear was gona go bye bye enchanted or not.
They went for the easy and quick way, the logical one if they didnt want to rework how these stats work. Its very, very short sighted to ask for them to buff loot 2.0 even more to work out the issue, that would be counter productive to what the change is addressing. Because evetually they have to do it, better in the first expansion than later.
But it makes some people angry is not a logical argument against their attempt to have a more balance and long term plan about itemization, if anything it shows that they did learn at least one lesson from vanillas mistake. Buffing the loot would just be making the same mistake twice. -

Bagstone posted a message on RoS Open BetaPosted in: Diablo III General Discussion
The purpose of a beta is not about giving players access to the game before release, and contrary to what some people right now seem to suggest it's also not meant to give players hints on how to prepare for an upcoming expansion. The one and only purpose of a beta is testing. Fixing bugs, balancing the game, testing the game's code and servers' stability. That's it.Quote from MetabolicFrolic
They don't need to have open beta because you can just go to streamers and watch the action for free. >_> -

Blizzard: We have this new itemization where quadfecta is a thing of the past.
Angry people: Yes but why you make current quadfectas obsolete!?

I'll be honest -- if they start releasing like 1 class per quarter @ 19.99 -- I'll probably buy them.
But they need to release something the size of an act at least once per year. (Hopefully for free).

When Joe's friend gives him a top 1% sword... approximately 99% of his sword drops will either be the same or worse. If that sword statistically takes 200 hours to find and you gave it to him at hour zero... You just doomed him to nerd rage and bitch about all his sword drops being trash for hundreds of hours.

Sorry man, but this post is ignorant.
1.) Ladders were never officially in the game. We only saw datamined info without any form of blizzard announcement.
2.) Mystic was a feature that they initially removed due it's original theme not working (think torchlight) the way the designers at the time wanted. Originally, it was a mandatory trip to the mystic to add a supplemental affix on every item you received.
Now the mystic allows you to reroll a low rolled or not wanted stat.
3.) Act 5, crusader, the new skills, btw legendaries, etc were never there to be removed.
4.) NOTHING officially announced for ROS has been delayed to xpac 2 (yet). There are some things they are delaying to maintenance patches... But nothing officially "cut".

Someone posted on the official forums that blizzard is flying streamers to its European hq.. maybe they are preparing to reveal additional features such as devils hand, ladders, and/or some pvp stuff?
