posted a message on Diablofans Diablo 3 Beta Key Contests! 450 Keys to win!
I would like to formally protest this post contest.

1.) People are just going to create multiple accounts in order to increase their odds of getting a key.
2.) The long time members are going to get flooded out by the newbs that are ONLY contributing for the key.
3.) The influx of new members normally creates an influx of repeat topics and questions that are often retarded as they are old old old news.

I suggest you go back and watch the video again, as you seem to have forgotten what was actually said. The guy in the video simply said he died in Nightmare, he said nothing about how many times. The other fella said people will get their asses handed to them in Nightmare and above. Based upon that, it's quite clear they died multiple times in Nightmare. One doesn't say something like that while casually strolling through a level.

i lawl at your niavety bud. for the D2 veterans here we know how hard nightmare will ACTUALLY be. and it will still be a breeze for ppl who arent stupid/scrubs.

i will post my first playthroughs of NM and hell and show how hard its not.

I'm starting to get sick of your cocky - know it all attitude. You act like you are some gaming-GOD sent from the cyber-heaven to enlighten the world.....

Your shit still stinks man... get over yourself please.

give the guy a break :) this will be lots of peoples first Diablo experience considering the last one came out over ten years ago.

Yeah.... I'm still one of the elitists that get annoyed at how blizzard lets anyone with a battle net account get beta. I really think you should have to have diablo 2 tied to your account for beta access (or at least a preorder).

I'm even more annoyed at all the forum noobs that came on this site just to gloat about getting beta (and have < 10 posts).

Because no of posts = being uber pro... right?

If you have Less than 25 posts and you come to this site within the last 3 days and mention that you got beta... get the fuck off this site. You do't ned to salt in our wounds. Alot of us having been checking this site daily... checking the oldtime blizzard.com site daily for diablo 3 news ... yet we don't get in because blizzard lets people that have never played diablo 3 opt in and get randomly selected (diluting the pool for thoe of use that have been truely obsessed with the game).

    Its 3 seperate factors:
1.) You (not you specifically) never played diablo 1 or 2.
2.) You get beta and suddently you are on here talking about.
3.) All these beta wave noobs are spamming the forum with new threads asking the questions that have been answered repeatedly for the last 3 years.

    Quote from exilicus

    1. So we have decided to go wtih the wow stat system? What happened to putting stats into your character i guess that allowed for to much thinking, creativity and thought. Cant have that. gotta get diablo 3 into the mmo fold.

    2. Instead of spending points to unlock abilities, which ill be honest isnt a revolutionary idea by any stretch but now we have an even more dumbed down system where you can pick from a pool of all abilities and use any 6 at a time? Can you say guild wars? Again having to put point into somthing, and make decisions is to complicated for gamers much better to just give you access to every ability and allow you to change on the fly so as not to force you to think to much.

    3. Cant even post on the official beta boards because it says my game time has expired

    4. This is the worst running beta i have ever played, Latency, stuttering, error codes you name it. I played swtor, and wow through most of there beta testing and i have to say its not even close. This game is not in the ball park of being close to release, despite blizzards best efforts to gut as much content, and as many graphicical animations as humanly possible to toss this game out the door. It will be 6 months minimum before this game releases.

    5. The auction house uses real money.... ??? i had read about this hoped it was a joke, nope.

    6. No single player option, not even an option..................theres a blue explanation but its just not valid. you buy a game you expect to be able to play it end of story regardless of what the status of your network is, part of bringing diablo 3 closer in the mmo fold..

In summary this game is bad, Real bad not in the way starcraft 2 was. You see starcraft 2 was actually a great game, however it was starcraft 1 with a paint job, not a whole lot new some polish some flair but it was the same game which was good in the fact that it didnt take a step backwards but bad in the way that i was hoping for just a glimmer of original though from blizzard. however with diablo 3 this is not the case this game takes about a thousand steps backward with the mmo style stat system, real money auction house, no single player etc. etc. What your left with is a game that looks and plays like diablo 2 with a paint job except that instead on improving the orignal by adding unique and original ideas we dumb the game down, butcher free thought and creativity, and make it so that no one who ever plays this game will ever have to think about anything.

As far as this game running like crap, its blizzard im sure that it will run fine at release however i just wanted to point out the horrid! performance because i know alot of people are waiting for this game and i just dont see how it could possibly be out qtr 1.

    Good luck fans!!!

This is why it shouldn't be so easy to just sign up for an account on this forum.

Everyone's loot is individual. What drops for me you don't see. What drops for you, I don't see.

Our loot calculations are dependent on our own individual Magic Find. If i'm wearing alot of magic find... my loo drops will be better than yours.

As of right now its an unfortunate consequence that one person may be doing the heavy lifting while the rest leech. However, at least now I don't have to spam click everything with color and hope to god my inventory has space.

    ^ full derp

You've obviously never compeated in Diablo 2 since you are not aware that the competitions are far from always are directly PVP. There were Iron man and ladder contests etc.

    Stop behaving like an idiot.

    Quote from italofoca

Unless you're a game designer you kno nothing about balance.

This is a matter of math.

Even so, the game designers rarely are good at balancing their games. They make wonderful worlds, but rarely balanced ones.

For instance, it took the game designers more than a year to release that wind fury could proc on wind fury in world of warcraft and release a chain reaction. They also did not realise a paladin could one shot onyxia at level 60. The community on the other hand, noticed these problems within the first week of release.

If I'm wrong in my math somewhere or missing out a valid point, please raise it. As it is now you're no smarter than christians saying "if you're not god, you cannot criticise his work."

I agree... you are acting like a tool. You base balance strictly on math (DPS vs life). It sounds to me like your belief in balance is akin to Warcraft 2 (both races are exactly the same with same place styles and same units stats... even the spells are basically the same)... whereas diablo 3 is more like starcraft 2 (all 3 races play different... have different styles and stats).

Balance is not always based on math... For example:
    • Barbarian = Melee = Has to be in your face. (If not in melee range when activated... the skill is wasted)
    • Demon Hunter = ranged... can shoot, run, shoot, run.
    • Barbarian = Fury based = This costs a resource that doesn't naturally regen (unless you blow a passive on it)... in fact it degenerates.
    • Demon Hunter = Discipline = A secondary resource. The demon hunter can still hatred spam while out of discipline. Additionally, Discipline regenerates naturally.. and has additional ways to regenerate.
    • MOST IMPORTANTLY: THIS IS NOT A PVP GAME. Do not base a skills worth by comparing it directly against a different class' skill. That's akin to complaining that a pound of gold isn't equal to a pound of silver.

posted a message on New U.S. Act Against Piracy, Government Power to Shut Down Websites
    Quote from GhostLoad

Well, you're obviously very passionate about your dislike of LinkX & your stance on his anarchistic tendencies. I just want to say that maybe we could approach the whole 'pirating' situation from the opposite direction? Maybe the laws we have in place are outdated and not completely relevant to the digital age? Perhaps... and this may be shocking to some but, make it so what is considered 'digital piracy' not-illegal? Who knows, I'm just throwing ideas around.

That makes absolutely no sense. Why would a government condone... let alone make legal intellectual property theft? Downloading a pirated copy of a video game is the same as modding your Playstation and playing copied disks. You are using the software (therefore the service) without paying for it. You are recieving the same benefits (or close to it) as those of us that actually paid.

Making digital content (especially in the case of movies and video games) takes vast quantities of time and money. It takes capital to create consumer goods. Capital costs overhead. By not paying for the shit you download... you are stealing (unless the publisher makes it free). Plain and simple.

There is absolutely NO reason to make digital piracy legal. By doing that, there is no such thing as intellectual property rights and you just completely destroyed the incentive for a company to create digital goods. You just put Blizzard, Bioware, etc out of business.

posted a message on New U.S. Act Against Piracy, Government Power to Shut Down Websites
I'm honestly in support of blocking piracy/torrent sites.

I cannot think of a legitimate reason not to except people who want to download from it. Piracy is NOT free speech, and if a website doesn't want to be blocked then it should simply prevent contributing to piracy.

posted a message on Is Blizzard getting it wrong with the Diablo III beta test?
    Quote from Braveheart

To answer the original question, yes Blizzard has messed up with the beta. You aren't "stressing" the servers by only inviting a couple people.

But no, the hype is not dead for the game, just the beta. A lot of people were expecting to get in, and about .1% of them did.

1.) As Bashiok fucking directly stated: You don't invite 1MILLION people when you don't even know if your infrastructure can handle 100. You slowly ramp up so that you can learn the threshold that the server can handle before it bonks. You really don't understand that they are using a completely new archictecture do you?

2.) Anyone that actually assumed they would get in other than press... and then get angry about not getting in can fuck themselves. Diablo 3 isn't BF3... this isn't a pre-release... this is a literal fucking beta. We are lucky that they aren't keeping this a completely closed beta anyways.
