posted a message on Strong Evidence for 2009 Diablo 3 Release
I see what your getting at, but everything else every talked about, or shown, or introduced by blizzard speaks of a later date. Just because battlenet is going to show all its goodies with d3, doesn't mean it has to be released first. Blizzard could easily release starcraft 2 first on battlenet in a semi beta test run, and use it to clean up and patch for the release of d3 with additional features.

    posted a message on bind-on-equip
I don't think some people are understanding how it works. Considering its lvl 85+ Bind on equip, that means good items lvl 85 or higher will be bound to your character, only if that character uses the item. Meaning that awesome melee weapon your wizard picked up, will still be available to trade to your monk, or your friends barbarian if you want. It will only be unsellable or tradeable to other characters once any character actually puts it in one of their armor or weapon slots (not the inventory slots).

This is a great move for d3, because it will make people work more towards achieving better gear or pay a hefty sum for it. This will stabilize gold in the game making it more valuable, along with rare items. At the same time it only starts happening from 85 and above, so leveling until then will be simpler because of the amount of gear available for trade or purchase.

I understand people are upset about if they use an item, find a better one, and now the first item is vendor trash. But this will cause players to be more considering of what they use and what they hold off on, which is better imo than just throwing every piece of gear on you get.

i like to see a new boss (or bosses) in the D3 xpasion.

Agreed, when they do get to the expansions, it would be nice to see entirely new bosses, perhaps a higher power we haven't heard of yet that will be revealed at the end of the original d3 would be cool. Plus would rather get new classes, not just modified old ones.

posted a message on Number of players
personally I wouldn't want 8 in a group...too many players for this type of game. would take a lot of the fun out and would be left not killing enough per a player. Now 4v4 pvp would work nice :)

don't think any number has been confirmed yet, but for coop play i doubt we'll see more than 4, possibly 6 at the very highest. I think 4 or 5 is more likely. 4 being the standard from the past, and 5 allowing for 1 of each class to possibly play together

agreed. they did mention they plan on making it hold value this time around. Hopefully they will include some unique uses available through merchants to spend gold on, other than your scrolls, repair.

he's not saying it shouldn't shake. He's saying they need to adjust the shake more so than it is for the action taking place. Increase the spectrum so that minor events and weak attacks barely move the screen, where as huge boss fights or insane max lvl skills make you feel like your in the middle of a 8.0 on the richter scale.

posted a message on Discussion: The last class is NOT a ranged class
    Quote from "wtfomgbbq" »
I don't recall hearing that. From what I remember the Barb is the only returning class in D3.

Considering the monk is technically a returning character, thats already not the case

imo there just bringing the amazon back, but probably with a new name and set of skills considering they don't want ppl to complain about reusing the same classes.

    Barbarian (melee/w little in magic)
witchdoctor (hybrid range dmg plus melee with pets/focuses on magic disease dmg)
wizard (your sorceress mage class/glass cannon heavy range magic)
monk (hybrid melee with holy magic in close range)
    ?

seems to me were missing the heavy physical ranged. Basically the barbarian and wizard cover to common figures in these or mmo games. meat sheild head basher and glass cannon. then we have witchdoctor and monk, hybrid classes more versatile than others but weaker at each individually. wheres physical ranged?

posted a message on Diablo 3 not till 2011 or beyond.
I can only hope for end 2009, but doubt it considering how they've been releasing new content and all the big shows, and still 1 class to be released, still not date announced, or even beta announced.

As for wow, i agree it got dull and i stopped playing myself. But you gotta respect blizzard for how they've revolutionized pc gaming with wow and diablo. Going on its 3rd expansion, and still untouchable by anyother mmo company out there says something, along with the still over 15 million subscribers. Its their bread and butter, and as long as its the cash cow and king of mmo's, they'll drain it till its withered
