posted a message on Potential Patch 13 upcoming changes to runes (Unconfirmed)
    Quote from Deathdefier

Taken from the diablo subreddit over on reddit:

"This is completely undocumented anywhere so please read this with that in mind. I do not have any proof to show so please don't demand it. If you don't believe me, sorry then; just wait for the Official Notes.
So here are the main changes:
Runes are no longer a physical object that drops. They will be unlocked as you level for your skills over time (all the way through 60). You will unlock a skill and then at some point, each of the available runes for that skill will unlock. There are no more rune drops or rune levels. This leaves for the ability to have +rune attributes in gear and so the runes will be able to take advantage of better gear in addition to your skills. The first runes begin to unlock as early as level 6. This way, you will get something each level, all the way to Max.
In normal, skill slots will be sort of 'locked' by type of skill (mainly for newbs who have no clue how resource generators/spenders work). This will be completely unlocked by Nightmare for everyone (possibly even before then, you may be able to opt-out but that is not confirmed). It acts as sort of an introduction. For example, for Barb, L Click may be locked to a generator and R Click may be locked to a spender. Slot 3 may be utility, etc. Again, the full details of how the skill system will be locked may have been changes recently as to whether you are forced to go through with these 'locks' throughout Normal but that's how they will present it.
I do not have any other specific changes (like DH skills changes, Chat Room details, etc.). Feel free to discuss or ask questions and I will try to answer them based on what I was told. Please don't ask who provided me this or how. Again, if you don't believe me, feel free to just move on and wait for the post (I have no idea when it will occur)."

    What do you guys think?
Look at it logically it would make more sense this way because all skills with their runes would be available, just the more you specialize the more you unlock. I for one am happy about this because i don't have to hustle and try to find or trade for runes.Just so i can have the skill i want. I would like to use that skill in particular for it to get better. Plus i'm sure they are thinking down the line in inferno mode, if you are a noob and not good with runes, you will get trashed, but if they are more easily accessible people have a better chance.

I know blizzard has stated that they are interested in creating a webpage with indepth information to support theory crafting similar to the excellent fan site the Arreat summit. I agree that skills with hidden proc rates are a big downturn and something that makes player move away from a potentially great skill.

What I'd like to see from Blizzard is a balanced flow of information through the tool tip with the added possibility of getting an advanced tooltip through options but also a skill book'esque page containing the semi hidden information of the math behind procrates, gcds and everything that makes for interesting theory crafting.

this is a good point, blizzard should include either in the strategy guide or a web page the hidden mathematics that goes into this game. like the actually attack speed of each skills, what the chance of the cast has of casting, maybe different speeds on demon hunters arrows, chance an aoe has to crit or each spell has to crit etc. Also it seems like blizzard is tryiing to make the game simplified for the new users but, what about the veteran users. There needs to be some form of advanced information the the players can access to learn about the nitty gritty of their characters.

You can be at least 3 of those in 1 build so is kind of silly to choose only one, a healer will still do damage and dodge and reflect and shit, your not committed to heal only or whatever..

that is why there is a mixed category

Picked the DPS Role because i've always been a front lines warrior sort of player. Obviously if the option of several talent trees are available i will go healer off spec :). I really hope someone sees this post because i've been wanting to play in the D3 beta for a long time now. (Favorite class was the Caster in original Diablo and Bone necro + zeal pally in D2X)
i too feel as though dps monks may be a good choice because if your enemy is dead there is no need to thorn or dodge their attacks. By creating such a good offense that you might not really need defense could be possible. Monks are good for many different things and should not be limited to just healing or dodging.

Also i hope that etheral items are included in diablo 3 and may actually be better than diablo 2. the reasons being are because in diablo 2 no one would waste their zod to make an etheral indestructible unless it was a runeword. etheral items were almost considered useless and had no real value, But it would be interesting if more people used etheral items because they could be better but could only use it for a short time causing that player to create more diversity in use of items, rather than crafting and item and sticking with it untill you get your blacksmith a higher level and stick with the next set of crafties.

In my opinion I feel the the companion should be brought back but get rid of the cute fury creatures and keep the bat, snake, and add like a dog or wolf, something that is actually trainable. also the beta should be given to people who have been posting topics not the ones who just heard about the giveaway and now are posting. Also please allow set items to be better or equal to uniques, because in diablo 2 lod the set items became worthless unless it was trang ouls or tal rasha's. I hope there is much item diversity because if it resembles diablo 2 everyone will have engima with a torch with soj and anni's. This was so bothersome because even though all the characters were different they all ended up using the same stuff.

One skill's wording(backlash) in particular needs to be changed, it says "Successfully dodging an attack has a chance to create a burst of flame dealing 78% weapon damage." This turned me away from the skill because unlike every other skill it doesn't tell you the chance it has to cast, so i don't know whether is it a 50% chance to cast or a 10% chance to cast. hopefully someone else notices that blizzard should include the statistical information in backlash because its uncertain how valuable that skill really is. If you have any more Constructive Ideas and Really Really want to get into the beta. Post your comments here.

i will be the ramming monk check my signature, i can consider him a damage reduction build right??
I was thinking about making a dodge build that would be able to deal damage every time he dodged an attack Using mantra of evasion with backlash, but the wording of the skill itself seems odd. It says "Successfully dodging an attack has a chance to create a burst of flame dealing 78% weapon damage." This turned me away from the skills because unlike every other skill it doesn't tell you the chance it has to cast, so i don't know whether is it a 50% chance to cast or a 10% chance to cast. hopefully someone else notices that blizzard should include the statistical information in backlash because its uncertain how valuable that skill really is.

posted a message on Creating your class build - What to look out for
When i create my Builds, I examine all the skills, familiarize myself with what they do, since i do not have the beta yet i look over youtube videos that are related to the skills and how they are executed, how much mana/spirit is spent, how long it takes to regain mana to spend on that skills and compare it with other skills. I find the most essential skills, and begin to specialize in what kind of character i would like to be. whether it be a dmg barb, a dodge monk or archon wizard etc. I find what skills combined with the passives compliment each other.

Found it. I am thinking of going to two generators but I really do not know exactly what I want or where to go with it. Input would be lovely honestly.

    - You got one nice synergy: "Mantra of evasion" indigo with "sixth sense. Also, if you dual-wield, this would also synergize well thanks to the 10% increased dodge chance.

    - I would prefer obsidian over indigo for "crippling wave". But, if you could successfully use it to kite and keep your distance while generating spirit, it could be interesting.

    - I would never go for "near death experience" without "exalted soul. Since you get 35% spirit back from NDE, exalted soul makes it more effective giving you a 35 extra spirit (87.5 instead or 52.5) when you get back from the dead. This can come handy if you where already in a troublesome situation. You probably should drop NDE for "seize the initiative". You will most likely boost up your dexterity as much as you can (extra dodge) and try to improve your crit chance to a maximum (sixth sense).

    - I really like "serenity even if it is on a 45sec cooldown and the alabaster rune will most likely be deadly if you pull out a lot of mobs with cyclone strike just before so that you take a hard beat.

Need to wait and see how "cyclone strike" will work out with "breath of heaven" following since it is spirit consuming. When you get short on spirit after usin CS-BOH combo and serenity is on cd, you will be down to using only "crippling wave" which could end up being troublesome. The "mystic allie" as no synergies, it's not bad at all but it could be replaced for something else if needed but i do think that this will definetly come handy in hell mode. I recall playing a javazon in D2 and i could not really go on without a valkirie allie in early nightmare and hell runs. I guess this allie might prove to be very usefull in D3 as well.

When i create my builds, i do it in order from left to right, Creating a system in the order that i will use them in. for example 1,2,3,4,5,6 with 1 and 2 being left and right click. When i Create my builds i think of a goal in mind, whether i want to go full dodger, Full Damage, Damage reduction, a healer or even a mix. So when i pick my skills i pick ones that will compliment each other and not just be all over the place because they sounds cool or look cool. Here is an example of one of my many builds
    • http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/monk#cURZjW!aYU!ZbZZZc This build is based on Damage amplifying moves, To produce at least a bonus of 37%Dmg to a maximum of 102%Dmg. Plus Spirit Regain with exploding palm and the ability to heal while doing all this damage through soothing breeze, and transcendence. On top of that, every enemy you hit will reduce their damage by 30% and all your resistances are equal to your highest. Also if you had to rely on a merc in diablo 2 hell, what kinda pansy are........ nm thats besides the point. the point is you need to find what you will want and perfect it.

I feel that the enchantress is being overlooked right now, She has probably some of the coolest buffs that will absolutely play a big role in inferno and thats not just speculation. How do i know, any time you take someone out of the fight, you gain an advantage. So by using Disorient, she can stun the crowd and then you can, pick them off one at a time. Also Scorched Earth is insane. It produces 50% more dmg from all attacks, slows enemies by 75% and causes 50% arcane dmg for 3 seconds. I for one, will use the enchantress.
