    Deckard are you for real?

I wont even join this disscusion because it wont even matter. Retarded logic will never change and i will not get dragged down with you. Have fun on your ignorant rant. /tatibai..

    Herm.

And on topic, what can they really do when they have offline mode? Nothing, nothing at all. :) Thats one of the reasons i didn't buy the console version. And the fact that the game is worse with just a roll and a different loot table wouldn't change the core problem for me. But whatever. If those guys enjoy playing with those items like some did in d2, let them. Or rather, can't do much about it. Must take away offline mode to make that happend and introduce a ninja ladder. :)

Bagstone, just IGNORE him lol! :D

Perhaps the same options on diablo 2, I know there was some exploitation/duping on closed b.net, but the countermeasures resulted in a drastic difference in the number of cheats vs open battle.net. Or maybe they can't do anything, just food for thought.

First, Josh decided to remove the AH, then asks for feedback on trading.
But of course, it makes a lot of sense!!!

    Sarcasm fail?

After the removal of the AH, they're thinking of other ways to support trading, just more meaningful as opposed to a soulless, anti-social AH solution. it makes total sense, indeed. Sorry if you can't see that.

Anti-social AH solution? Oh i'm sorry. I'm sure all the adults want to have to deal with the 12 y/o kids/scammers/basement dwellers who are rejoicing the changes so they can go back to d2 system. It does make total sense, indeed.

Or wait it gets better. Removing AH before having come up with a replacement? Clearly top dev material.

Or.. EVEN better. Asking on twitter where you're limited to a few words? Twitter which barely anyone uses?Brilliant.

I couldn't have said it any better.

Console play dead as a rock ... 3 weeks after launch, PC play useless since AH's are in linger state and why play before loot 2.0 ... and then, the man in the lead, starts a feedback on ... twitter about trading with ... ONE liners...

Really, I defended and enjoyed this game so much, but this guy single handedly killed console play AND PC fun within 2 weeks.

I'll give him his tweet: "D3 without a controlled in game central trading system is dead in 3 weeks time. No matter what Loot table you make."

    Oops too long already.

    Idiot.

Killed? They removed the AH MOST LIKELY because the majority of the diablo 3 players already left the game due to the lackluster experience it provided compared to the other two of the franchise. I personally am glad they are going back to it's roots. I just recently bought the Diablo 3 console version despite what I've been warned about, and love playing it locally. I've yet to jump online because i'm not a fan of exploiters. Still, removing the AH is the best thing for this game.

If a huge chunk of the player-base wanted the AH, why would they remove it? I won't believe that it's because of "whining," considering how much data they gather from accounts, they probably did an analysis of accounts created / active accounts, monitored a trend, etc.

if they were to make it part of the acts as opposed to make it a separate option on the main menu, I'd like to see them integrate the endless dungeon feature wtihout making it lore-breaking. Perhaps make it similar to the arcane sanctuary in diablo 2, just an inter-dimensional design, or a rift created after the destruction of the world stone, so that it is found in act 3. Something like that. M2C

I wonder if they will ever add PVP to the beta. I understand they aren't going to further the campaign, but PVP would be nice.

Also it was a surprise to me that the scripted death animations like the ones found in the 2008 teaser fight with the siege breaker will not be making it into release. (http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/3967589584)

Unfortunately we never managed to get these implemented. They were a really cool idea, but a pretty huge amount of work. The one we showed of the siegebreaker was a scripted sequence we set up specifically for that video. It was never implemented, and never actually worked without someone sitting there typing in a bunch of commands to get it all to fire off properly. It's still something we'd like to do, though.

All things considered there are just higher priority tasks sometimes. We'd love, for example, to have the monk display his weapons during all of his skill animations. But it's an enormous animation and effects investment to get it done, and we have to weigh all of these things against other features and polish. A lot of the skills we could improve have multiple animation sets, multiplied twice for each gender, and then multiplied by each weapon type he can equip. That can be 40 or more unique animations, and then there's a full FX pass, approvals, QA testing, etc. etc. and that'd just be for 1 skill.

We have our wish lists, but it's a balancing act of resources. Ideally our choices when balancing go toward setting realistic limitations, and producing the best game possible.

What's the problem of taking 10 seconds to decide whether or not an item is for your class? Using your brain never hurt anyone, in fact, not using your brain is becoming the problem in today's society. I want to experiment with my class in many ways possible, don't ruin this for people like us.

This is RETARDED. This game is feeling less and less like Diablo. And yes I'm a beta tester.

The game was simple enough as it is, anyone who cannot figure out how to play it shouldn't play computer games to begin with. What ever happened chance to hit?? What's wrong with having PLAYERS decide what item is good for their character or not? I don't see anything wrong with gray-area items, and not super-defining items for one class over the other. This makes trading INTERESTING.

Why are you going to get rid of scrolls of identify or cain identifying? This is a symbolic function in the Diablo franchise. With the amount of town traveling you have to do anyway, using cain is not going to cause much inconvenience at all.

The only change I like is changing the stone of recall. I don't even know why you thought of changing the name from town portal to begin with. What's with the design department??

One question, Blizzard: Who the hell are you listening to about these changes? Holy shit!

I'm pretty damn close with cancelling my two collectors editions preorders just like some guy who posted earlier on this thread.

You know, trolling and bad feelings aside, I for one am no longer looking forward *as much* after a 5 hour beta experience.

Blizzard are really crap at either making games or hiring people. Because more than one person who has played beta with me has remarked that they cannot believe it took four years to make.

I defended by saying its just a beta... We'll see.
And no release date? I'm starting to view blizzard as that bully/jock at school.
You make it. Playing the beta for me made me much more excited for release. Being that the beta is only a fraction of act 1, I can't wait to see my character progress through the story and through the levels. Game design is nothing simple, even with a team. The development of Diablo3 started more than 4 years ago with Blizzard North, but drama happened, the company didn't like the direction, etc. They started from scratch and redesigned the game. This probably happens more than once in Blizzard's development cycle, some more dramatic than others. We probably only see a fraction of features that were originally planned and developed for the game. A lot of the others were probably tried out and dished out when they didn't like it. That takes time.

the idea that blizzard is going this route makes me cringe. Though, I guess it's something to expect when you see the success of other microtransaction business models, and the fact that Blizzard has been adding more and more e-products via WoW in the last few years. Oh well, it looks like we're in a new era of online gaming.

Thats where my line of thinking is, since I have to identify myself at the door, I cannot simply resell it, or even give it to my brother if I so wanted!! I'm going to assume there are no refunds, but it won't hurt to give them a call I suppose. Thanks for the quick response

    Hi all,
Just found out a few days ago that I may not be able to take military leave to go to blizzcon this year (my first year too!). This is due to a manning issue on a very critical position. My question is, has anyone ever bought tickets and were not able to go due to certain circumstances? What options do I have? I'd at least like to get SOME of my money back. Thanks.

Just toning down the force of the barbarian a LITTLE bit and increase the rate of fall on the physics, and bam, you have a great feel. It does not look epic at all to me, it does in fact look like a lunar mission. I'm with the public here, this reminds me very much of Titan Quest's insane flying dead creatures.

Toning it down will not take away the essence of the character. Diablo 2 never had any physics and the barbarian still felt pretty damn epic with the knockbacks.

And "only the barbarian has lunar skills" isn't a valid argument on why its okay. Your "only" part indicates at least a margin of discrepency, and you accepting it just shows complacency. If you're going to do something, do it right.
