id love to see a bard in D3 but it seems slightly improbable *sadfacee*
then with the whole 'knight' concept, just being traditional here but i just cant see a sincre female knight class
the ranger seems to...typical ?
i just dont think it will be a straight up range class with lack of magical abilities
id love to see a primarily ranged type char with auras and whatnot (like a majority of others) it just seems to work best
and then theres the whole vampire thing
lol.
and a druid-type char will highly unlikely be making a grand entrance into the new world of santuary as i think blizzard would much rather create a char with more creativity involved, rather than going "okay, lets make this guy cooler"
btw. who/what are the pictures of in the artwork pages in diablo3.com ..the two after the ones of the wizard?
you know on thoughts about the monk what if they actually give him a disarm skill i know im leaning towards wow butin pvp terms and pve it could give him an interesting skill could even let him go toe to toe with an over geared barb oops you dropped your weapon !! die !!
rightright..so how would a disarm skill work against fallen or like diablo himself ?
i third on the mask thing
its pretty awesome ;D
a lot of the artwork into the WD seem pretty damn sweet like the fireball totem-thing
as is the same with terrify
hahah yeah i sposee
just seeing as though blizzard are looking for not so alternative-type chars i didnt necessarily see it as being completely unrealistic
defintely
someone obviously need to take control of the ranged weapons..also maybe some sword/dagger/possibly some sort of magic skills an such for close range
im just sayeen i would love to see a samurai somehow worked into the diablo series somehow
O.k. so lets start with what we know. There are two missing classes.
Now that we got that out of the way it is time to speculate. Most of us can agree that we are going to get a archer/ranged melee class. We also will probably get a "holy" class. A class that might use shields more extensively and finally possibly a lighter/quicker melee char.
Now for the why nots. As far as a hunter class for the ranged. Traps would be cool but I just don't think we will get another pet class. I have said this many times before but jay said they want to create very different clas with no over lap. So what would the other tree be?
As far as pally's go. I just don't see auras making a strong comeback, maybe here or there but not enough for a whole tree (or two in the pallys case). Not to mention no more returning classes.
So here is my idea.
As far as name I'm gonna say knight, just because it is easier to picture (possibly minus the plate armor). I don't know the lore to well to offer a name that matches Diablo. Maybe some sort of horadrim infantry. I use knight because I want somebody who could be versed in many different weapons/fighting styles. Knights were also known to be holy warriors in many cases.
Here is a pic I found to help picture the idea:
tell me this pic is not epic.
As far as trees and skills. first tree would focus on bow/crossbows. knights were known for being well trained in archery both with a bow and the crossbow(my fav.. remeber the needler)
The next would be more shield/defensive. maybe some sort of support skills wielding a shield and sword or mace. He could help why damage mitigation in groups.
last would be some sort of hand to hand combat tree. Knights knew how to use many different weapons and could wield them at the same time. could use skills that increase attack speed.
All three trees would incorporate some sort of holy spells/magic in them. such as holy arrow or divine protection.
This would cover all four of the types of characters we have yet to see. And more importantly leave open the possibilities for the last class.
So what do you think?
i just think he seems WAY too powerful
the ability of ranged aswell as seemingly epic melee combat skills just puts him in a league of his own which is basically unstoppable
which, of course would be amazing but also kinda..unfair ? to the other classes which focus more on one specific type of fighting more or less
samurai much ?
he could be possibly used and an alt to the pally in a sense of great swordmanship skills and to strech it out he may be able to use holy skills
maybe in exp. or D4 --if they make them
Though i've nothing against the monk i will not choose him as my first character.
who will be ?
obviously its kinda difficult considering the game is expect to come out hopefully 2011 but im guessing youre atleast pondering out your first roll
and yeaah i guess thats true
though i guess as im much more of a melee char than a ranged one so i just kinda deal with it
i hate the wizard
no offense, kinda a cool concept but im just not the caster-type
id rather be beating the crap out of my enemies with a maul than standing back and watching them get burnt with fire bolt or some shizz
defintely poison (:
it can be soo brutally toxic
of course, any element can be extremely deadly on how stong it is/how it use it etc. BUT theres not much that can compare to the feeling of leap attacking the f**k out of diablo with my poison-infused weapons in hand and watching him suffer
I've read soo many threads/posts about people who are just constantly dumping on the Monk, saying (s)he's basically just a filler class and a weak, lame version of the pally (for now im just really focusing on the assassin aspect)
Granted, that's their opinion, but mine is that -so far- the Monk is the most underrated class in D3
Only 8 skills have been released and it's all well and good to have to have skills which could help party members, but i really don't think that's the initial purpose
And concerning the Monks 'weakness', hes built to be fragile !
An aspect of the game to be a challenge to players whom like playing a melee-based char but want an alternative to the oh-so-dominant barb
The monk is built to be a class which is difficult to start off with due to as i've said before (s)he's known to be fragile, but as you progress through the game with combo skills, buffs and debuffs will help create a VERY powerful char
With combos such as 100 fists and exploding palm, aswell as the yet to be released skills, i believe a highly skilled Monk player will defintely be not one to be taken for granted, and for the people who do just perceive the Monk as a weak-ass char who should go back to the monastery as he has no business fighting off the prime evils, will end up getting their asses handed to them so fast they won't even be able to say "lololol it's a weak-ass Monk"
I'm just sayeen.
