OathofChaos posted a message on New computer. Help!So.... I just finished building this beast of a computer. I would advise not doing what I did... because I'm a geek, and I have the money right now to build said beast, and lack the patience to wait six to eight months.Posted in: General Discussion (non-Diablo)
And now, without further ado....

ScyberDragon posted a message on New comp helpMotivates to get a new one. The old one was about four years old and wasn't to good to begin with. My brother made it just to learn how to. Like I said, I know next to nothing about hardware except adding ram. I don't think building one is an option.Posted in: General Discussion (non-Diablo) -

Umpa posted a message on Your favorite guitarist?Posted in: General Discussion (non-Diablo)Quote from name="Mephisto"s Lament" »If you are going to pick out your favorite guitarist, and vouch for him, you should at least know some guitarists from every genre, and I think it's pretty safe to say that the Metal genre has most of the top notch guitarists, with complex structures, and rhythmic intricacy being a constant in most sub genres of Metal.
The problem with this is that you assume your idea of how a good guitarist should play is the right idea and that everyone else's idea is inferior.
Maybe you have an incredible passion for rhythmic intricacy and complex structures. However, I do not share that passion. Give me a guy that can put soul into a Blue's scale and you will win my heart. Metal is great but in terms of my appreciation for the guitar I would rank stuff like Blues and Jazz guitar way above metal with all their intricacies. Not everyone feels that to have an understanding of the guitar you need to listen to metal. I know most of those bands you mention but not all of them because honestly, I can only take so much metal. It gets boring after a while.
Wes Montgomery anybody? Now THAT folks is guitar! -

Shatterer posted a message on Half-Breed....Angel/demon?Wikipedia says there are four different views regarding the Nephilim:Posted in: Unannounced Class
They were the hybrid offspring of fallen angels and human women.
They were the offspring of descendants of Seth with those of Cain.
Webster's 1913 Dictionary defines the word simply as "Giant." Thus, any especially tall, powerful, large, or mighty man would be described in ancient times as Nephilim. Nephilim may simply mean "giant," champion, or strong man.
They are not historical figures and are ancient imagery with questionable meaning.
I don't know anything about this, to be honest. All my knowledge is inside Wikipedia's hands. -

Shatterer posted a message on Possible 5th Class - DHAMPIRSanctuary was created a safe haven from the Great Conflict for both angels and demons. The Worldstone was created to shield this place from prying eyes.Posted in: Unannounced Class
Demons and Angels mated, creating the Nephalem.
The Nephalem were too powerful, so the Worldstone was altered to weaken these beings.
After many generations, the Nephalem lost their power and then they became humans. So in the end a human on Sanctuary is half demon, half angel. -

ScyberDragon posted a message on The Lighter Side - Storms and FingersPosted in: News & Announcements
Twas a Creepy Night in Irvine...
The Diablo Staff had a dark and creepy night to work in down in Irvine.
For all of you saying that the game will not be "dark", pray for some more stormy nights in Irvine to help inspire the Diablo team to make this game just that much more creepier. I only hope that the team doesn't get too scared and stop working on the game in fear of nightmares in the middle of these dreary nights.
Official Blizzard Quote:
Diablo: It's a dark and stormy night here in Irvine, which is setting the mood for some dark and stormy Diablo III development. http://cot.ag/9lWsv7
This brings some interesting insight to the weather in the game as well. While there will not be day and night cycles, there are clearly weather patterns in the game. If the team is taking inspiration from their own weather, will we not get any snow in Diablo III or smog near the cities like typical California weather?
Also, don't forget that after most rainy days, a rainbow is soon to follow.

Fingers of Fury
The Monk is known for his fists of fury but what about the fingers at the end of those fists. People often disclude fingers from fighting since they usually get tucked away in a fist but with years of training, a Monk's fingers can be just as deadly as any other extension of their body.
Official Blizzard Quote:
OR! You can explain it away by saying that she's actually punching so fast it looks like she's mostly standing still, but her fingers have broken the time barrier and exist in multiple dimensions
The female Monk's fingers are so quick that they cannot even be seen. I wonder what skills she might have with these lightning fast fingers? Perhaps a move where she plunges them into the heart of monsters and tears it out or blinding monsters by poking them in the eye. She could even have a skill that turns her own fingers into more fist to punch with (see image right).
What kind of fingers would you like to see her have in-game?

Nekrodrac posted a message on My wonderful girlfriend...Posted in: General Discussion (non-Diablo)Quote from "Seniri" »Actually just some info on me as a person, I work so my girlfriend can go to college (although I've been unemployed for two months. I start my new job this week)
When she's done college (fashion design) I'm going to work for a year or so to help pay off her student loan and raise money for myself to go to school, most likely for baking. So I cook/bake decently. Damn right she should enjoy my cooking ;p. If I don't go for baking I'll be trying for some form of computer whatsits instead.
Respect, skelly head. And if you have any idea in what you want to graduate, you can always consult a few books of the field in the meantime.
You'll be amazed at the extent of theoretical crap uni can give you. So if are a bit prepared, best for you.
My girlfriend has been insisting I learn some cooking.
Her excuse- You look so very sexy and desirable when I see you working in the kitchen....and I am hungry too.
Yes...yes women will go to any lengths to see you cook and do household work.
I am still waiting for a research study which investigates whether they are really turned on by it all.
I suspect they are... -

I peeled the skin off the drumsticks.
I cut the meat off the bone.
I cut the fat away from the meat and stripped off most of that shiny layer of skin-stuff.
I prepared and cooked it in the oven with oil and spices.
I got food poisoning from cross contamination.

Not entirely. Rape is not about sex, it is about power and control. Rapists need to hurt, feel power, in order to get off. This is why most rapists are guys, and they rape women - smaller women. A gay man raping another gay man probably isn't unheard of, but the rapist would have to be built and the victim would have to be ridiculously smaller. How often have you heard something about a man raping a man? Excluding jail.
Being a Christian is immoral IMO. Of every religion I've seen only two misinterpret the Bible and use its words as law: Christianity and Islam. A true Christian doesn't judge others, doesn't get in fights on the internet. A true Christian is accepting of everything and everybody, regardless of skin color, sexual orientation, religious views. I don't think you dislike homosexuality because it says it's wrong in the Bible - I think you're homophobic and use that as an excuse to hate them.
Did you know most pedophiles are straight, white men? Most of them are upstanding *religion name here.* Sure a homosexual man could be a pedophile, but he's part of a small percentage. What you should be more worried about is leaving your daughter at Sunday School with the pastor.
To me, God exists - but not in the form of any man made religion. God is everywhere, is the planet we live on, the life on the planet. We are god. She didn't write some book for us to kill people over, or tell us having a certain kind of sex is wrong.
Can you prove me wrong, or can you prove yourself right? We're both wrong and we're both right.
The words in the Bible are the words of man. Sure, God may have inspired them, but in my opinion it was a publicity stunt to get more money out the population as well as mind control them for generations. Question: Do you believe in Aliens? What will happen to the worlds religions when Aliens make first contact? Think Earth Religions will survive the jump to light speed, survive whatever our new friends religions are?
I can't tell from here down who said what. But my conclusion is that you're a confused, brainwashed 18 year old who has little to no world experience. Come back when you've lived on your own for a while and can form your own opinions without having to borrow other peoples (or the Bibles.)
My girlfriend wanted me to say to you, "Why don't zealots care when they hurt people?"
Edit:
Wow. Where do you get your facts from. You do realize not every single homosexual is a non-religious heathen who bashes on Christianity right? There are lots of gay Christians. Imagine how many in your flock are in the closet.
