Gentle your post popped up. I'm probably leaving after I type this.

    Expectations it couldn't fulfill?

You've somehow got onto some sort of "Forgiveness" train.

To prove it, go to metacritic...

    It was BAD.

It still is bad, they've really taken the ADULT out of that game.

And by loving it, they're not going to improve.

Also, people here should have seen the boards blow up on launch.

A lot of it was from server problems, where people had booked time off work to play Diablo 3.

But there was a good chunk of it on how the game was garbage.

Very generic and bland. The story was just terrible, and in the end seeing the new "Diablo" walk like Marilyn Monroe.

    Ugh ...

It was like Reading Rabbit Diablo 3 in Spring time sponsored by Disney.

I heard there's "Rifts" or something, where you fight enemies from other popular game genres.

    OMFG on that one...

I heard they made a whole level devoted to Unicorns.

I'd be funny to pass by a Unicorn in Tristram or something.

But Blizzard actually had people grinding unicorns for loot.

    HAHAHha aha....ha...................... hilarious ...... nice one, ..... A+ Blizzard.

    Garbage.

posted a message on Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls.

In another post I made here within the last month I said I'd be back in a few years.

With the exception to this post/thread.

I stumbled across the opening cinematic for Reaper of Souls on youtube and felt the need to post this.

(The 3D part of the animation was actually done really well and gave me chills, the stupid comic book **** they did with the rest is still garbage.)

I've got quite a timeline leading up to the launch of Diablo 3, my perspective on the game at launch and my perspective now on this website.

(2010 - Present) So I'm here to add another to the list, quickly.

I want to let everyone know that Diablo 3 had such a rough start that I wouldn't buy any Expansion packs that came out and that I'd be very weary of any of Blizzard Entertainment's future releases. Which I have been.

I want the record to show that I've never purchased the expansion and won't purchase future expansions.

The "it's so much better then when it was released" is clearly propaganda probably touted by Blizzard.

The core of the game was/is flawed, you can't fix that.

This isn't a true "Diablo" title.

I have played Reaper of Souls with my friend briefly on console.

And about 10-15 minutes in I had to ask him why we weren't dying.

(I hadn't noticed because I was so bored of the game from the start, but he convinced me to try it.)

It turns out we were wearing heirloom items and I'm assuming we were getting some kind of experience boost on top of it all...

or some kind of WoW bull****. (And WoW's a good game, not as good as it used to be, and it isn't Diablo)

He then told me about the leveling system in the game, and how with hundreds of new iLevels or some junk, how he almost maxed out in a day.

    Ugh...

What a peice of trash, I never experienced all the new stuff but good Riddance to the Diablo Franchise.

I guess it was fitting that greed and deception would be the series' death.

To anyone out there that may read this one day.

Who hated the "Vanilla" version of the game ... and went and bought the expansion because they heard that the game was improved.

I hope you've learned your lesson.

To repeat I still won't buy any of the expansions, and no I don't need to buy them.

I'm only one person but I'm doing what I can to send Blizzard the message.

A quote I wrote within a week of launch.

Blizzard Entertainment, you %#$%ed upp BIG TIME.

Read my previous posts from years passed.

Thank you, and I'm Sorry to both the few that have remained and/or the ones that like this game for reasons I can't fathom.

Sorry I had to bring this back.

    Was Diablo 3 hyped? Yes.

    Was it over hyped? No.

People just thought Blizzard couldn't make a bad game.

80% of people back then polled no. Diablo 3 was going to be the sequel to remember.

Keep in mind that during this year, plenty of info was released.

    Blizzard you dun ****ed up.

Honestly. I'm coming back to read this after however long.

And I know it's Diablo "FANS" and all.

But here it definately seems that the majority of people like the game.

So, whoever's been freaking out for 8 pages about the vocal minority being all negative...

    I don't know.

But this game isn't Diablo. It wasn't even finished...Honestly. I don't think that's even debateable. It's a piece of garbage. I've liked some games at first because I liked their predecessors. Until I took a step back to see, that it really sucked.

    It'll come.

    ***PVP***

I remember making up character classes with their own gear. And not being able to kill Anderial Act 1 Hell. But they did fine in PvP. So that's what I remember most about PvP from Diablo 2. That you really could just hop in there and have fun.

    Quote from Plocer

We? you mean the small minority that posts on forums while the real majority is actually playing the game?

If d3 was almost exactly like d2, people would complain that nothing changed. People would complain no matter what.

I call it COD syndrome. Call of duty modern warfare series started out with everyone loving it, then mw2 came and people complained about the similarities and some differences, then black ops, and people complained that it was too similar, then mw3 came and people further complained that it was too similar.

The point is that even if a game is similar to its popular predecessor, people will complain about lack of changes.

TL:DR People will complain whether it was exactly like d2 or 100 percent different.

We have no idea how many people like and how many people don't.
The random people I played with at least agreed with me on the story.
    And with some games.
There are always people who will waste their time on complete @$%^.
There are always people who continue to play THOSE games.
I'm sure you're one of them.

"Diablo 1 had a fairly exciting Skill selection"

    You're kidding, right?

Max chain lightning, max fireball, max teleport, max golem if you were feeling extra scared. Spam that staff of Apocalypse that you ran and refreshed Aria 5000 times for. The only thing exciting about D1 was the zombies that would permanently drop your max life score if they hit you and even that got exploited by sorcerers who used a super low life + mana shield to become immune to stunlock from when you get hit and go into hit-recovery animation mode.

I agree that D3 has some growing pains and needs more adjusting before it's just right but please do take off the rose-tinted glasses before you compare it to d1/d2.

You're talking about dupes... We don't want dupes. Thank god they got rid of those though.

The reason we are mad about Diablo 3.

Is the wait that we waited.

And the lack of what needed to be changed from it's predecessor.

I'm not sure if there are any hacks in this game yet. But I've heard that people are botting. And The channels are chalked full of Spam.

The AH, I'll admit. I wanted. Now that I see it, and I even thought of this before hand. Is really cluttered. The AH, is always ALWAYS going to have the exact item you are looking for. And now that you are competing with every person in the game who's trading that item. The prices will never be anything but SUPER LOW.

I can see the prices being very high on a very specific rare item. But whatever. There's nothing before that.

Before you reached maximum level in Diablo 2. There were sets, uniques, rares, runes, rune words. Whatever. A whole variety of things to equip until you got your upgrade. Now you see that upgrade in the AH, and it doesn't have the same feel. And I can guarantee you. If you look hard enough. You'll find it at a very reasonable price.

There's nothing really. I wanted my end game character to be nothing but high end rares that were very valueable. But I didn't want it to be somewhat of a guessing game all the way to the top. All the way up there bland random generated items. For a bland grey disgusting game.

    The story is horrible. Honestly.

The bosses are horrible. And they've actually made them unfarmable. Which meh, they implemented that wrong. Cause their game has nothing going for it. Like I wanna experience that gameplay over and over again.

They made a Gold Auction house. Which I'll bet you all you're gold. Will be entirely obsolete in the next few months here. Because gold is crap, almost already. And the inflation of items is going to have a huge impact on this. There's nothing to this game. Nothing. You're gonna find everything. It's really a kid's version of the old Diablo's.

Which was proably intended to steer people towards real money.I hope for the latter though. I'll keep checking in to see if people resorted to actual item trading. Somehow. In this very random game. Trade games are no more. Like D1 or D2...

Which even Diablo 1 had a fairly exciting Skill selection. And I crave to play that game to this day. The skills in this game are horrible. And WE ASKED, I THINK the biggest thing we asked for.. Is that we have a TON OF VIABLE BUILDS. Which Diablo 2 was somewhat lacking. But it turns out. Diablo 2 just turned out better in that regard too. Along with D1 however long ago that was made.

I can't believe they tok out their original idea of lootable Skill Runes... That would have worked. Minus the AH.

And again, I've seen people saying there are hidden stats in the game. And that was something I really hated about Diablo 2. i haven't played D3 in a while here. But wow. Get those out if this is true.

There was nothing worse than making a character in Diablo 2. Where it said you did X and X and X but for some reason. They just weren't doing it.

Except in PvP, Diablo 2 was fairly balanced PvP wise. Which Diablo 3 has none.

Because it was unfinished when they released it. After 3 years. Of constant updates. And hype. They released an unfinished game.

This is so common now a days. I'm just going to guess this is a marketing strategy for big name games. Less work. The same pay out. It makes sense. It get's talked about. There's no such thing as bad publicity right?

Just terrible. $%^&ed upp BIG TIME.

    Yeah.

    They listened to us.

We wanted Rares to be the best possible items.

But there is NOTHING before that...

(And I'm starting to agree, that the AH was a bad idea)

You can get items quickly but...
You'll just see a better one up that you could afford a day later...
You'll never know if there was a better one at a cheaper price...
    Yada yada...

    Quote from HuskersHusky

    No PvP.

    - It is coming in a later patch.

    The Auction House never works.

    - They are still working out the bugs on the game, yes they have been working on the game forever but at the same time give them a little more time...

The game just doesn't feel right.

    - Doesnt feel right ? how so ? Its Diablo :3 its I hope you are basing this on not played the other games.

    It has no addictive components.

    - It has the components of having to ALWAYS get better loot and addictive ness is good because every game is not the same.

They actually added...a unicorn, cotton candy secret level...THAT WAS A JOKE.

    - I guess you cant take the hint of what they were going at for the secret level... XD

    Read the whole thing...
I've been playing Diablo since I was 10.

And you know what...YEAH PVP IS COMING...IN A LATER PATCH... (Un-Finished)

Yeah they're working out the AH bugs... (So bad...it's Un-finished)
    Items Sold get listed
The price variance is a joke (I couldn't believe it when some guy told me to search for items at max. 5000 Gold)

The unicorn thing shouldn't be in there - this isn't comedy - Maybe a slight reference or something - I never was one of those DON'T MAKE THIS A CAREBEAR GAME.

AND THIS GAME IS NOT ADDICITIVE - AT ALL.
