Keep in mind he doesn't actually mention Diablo 3. For all we know instead of the standard action based "RPG" we all know Diablo for, they release a turn based strategy game or something
Though I wouldn't be too upset over that, infact, I'd enjoy it.

Yes that is true, unfortunately. Blizzard has turned into a money grubbing corporation after the wallets of the moronic masses. No offense to anyone here.Quote from "Thasador" »I wish they would make it mature content too. But from their standpoint, if they rate the game to Teen, they would have more sales. They just want to make more money.
They've already got their license to print money with World of Warcraft, they should make Diablo 3 a Mature rated game for the sake of the real fans. I'll be you most "young" (under 18) Diablo players have no knowledge of its lore except for the fact that they can recite each cinematic word for word, without knowing what the hell they're talking about.
Make the next one something for the REAL Diablo fans please, and make it a real RPG with competetive elements added in to keep their old fans at bay.
To be honest, I would love to see something along the lines of Baldur's Gate 2 except with a Diablo storyline and more intense combat and prettier graphics. -

I just hope it's not like the other two. While they were great fun for my earlier years, I have matured too far to enjoy that kind of gameplay. Let's see some actual roleplaying and story telling in the next one, please?
Though, still excited, and most likely will buy no matter how much I despise the content or how similar it is to previous games. Damn you Blizzard, you have cursed me! - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

Blizzard has had problems with providing accurate release dates in the past, but I'm sure they've learned their lesson. They've been working on D3 for the past 5 years, IIRC.

They're just not releasing too much information, otherwise people will not be kept on their toes.
I think Diablo 3 could be released next year, but I don't expect us to wait anymore than 2 years for it. It's been in development for a LONG time now, and they've surely learned their mistakes in the past with "It's almost ready" so hopefully this time we will have an accurate release.
SC2 is actually due out sooner than most people would expect, and D3 soon after that.

And I know what I'm asking for is too much, especially since it would basically go against most diablo fans' wishes (except mine), but I'd at least like it to be less of "go out of town, kill, level up, do runs for loot, etc, beat game, start over on new difficulty" and more of something along the lines of morrowind except more action and where it's not linear but very open.
I want something different, let's just keep it at that.

I loved Diablo, and I really enjoyed D2+LoD. However, I have matured and now enjoy the story side to an RPG much more than the action side. Don't get me wrong though, I love action, but the story element is more important in an RPG.
I understand that it was brought up to be a clickfest, but look at warcraft. They made that RTS in an MMORPG.
And come on, you can't just say "Go play Baldur's Gate". The point is I've already played it and would enjoy a real RPG set in the Diablo universe, BG can't offer that, can it?

Now take the dark and twisted world of Diablo and make it into an RPG instead of another crappy clickfest and we've got a superior game. I'm tired of all the pointless, brainless clicking garbage that we see these days. People seem to think that if the point of the game is to level up and kill things repeatedly then it's classified as an RPG. However, that's completely wrong.
I don't want to see lv 99 God characters and lv 1 newbs who couldn't even scratch a lv 99 with an army of a million. I'd like it to be toned down and more realistic in the combat sense.
Anyone else think that this should become a real RPG? I know it'll take the franchise into a completely new direction and the brainless click-fest fans will be upset, but whatever, let them play WoW.
