I like to keep my distance and rain death from the mighty arrow. Combination of ranged and traps help me slow the enemy as I fire multishots killing large mobs.

posted a message on First time playing D3 beta today.
After many, many, many years of waiting. I got to play the D3 beta at a friends house today. I played the Demon Hunter through The King.

I have to say, this this game is really enjoyable. I did have some doubts when I first started, but having played the beta through, if this short taste is any indication of what the game is going to be like, I think I am personally really going to enjoy playing it for a long time.

You feel like a powerful hero, the sounds add to this. The loot drop rate is great and you really dont have many interruptions of gameplay. You basically jump right into the story and keep going until the end.

Nothing really will ever live up to our expectations as fans. But we will still play it to death. We always want to go back to that fealing of the first time we played the first diablo, or the first starcraft, or the first warcraft. But I don't think anything hey will do will match that initial high. That isn't to say that it wont be great.

Not to lessen your point, but as someone who has been playing online games since warcraft over a 9600 (I still remember my init string), one thing has remained a constant. Those types are on every platform.

A lot of valid points above. I would agree that controls are limited and communication could be specially difficult.

Just an idea i've been kicking around, since the only real way to communicate is through voice on the console, could they come up with a speach to text function? The software for this sort of thing has been around for a while and isn't half bad.

As for the controls, it is hard for me to say as I haven't played the beta, but from my experience in D2, the controls are overly complicated. It is certainly not like an MMO with the action bars and key bindings...

I would also add that the isometric view does make movement more optimal then a 3D MMO on a console.

Let me preface this post by saying I am strictly a PC gamer, although I own an
XBOX360 I use for Netflix and media in the living room.

If Blizz can find a unique and seamless way to intergrate consoles into D3 systems, it could offer a more vibrant and diverse community benifiting all the players. I do understand that there are technical hurdles to overcome and console controls are some what limited.

If it could bring an entire user base into the game that would not otherwise be able to play it could offer a larger and more active economy, healthier more active server populations, and overall more investment from Blizzard.

    Quote from rEDNiNE150

    Very well written article.

I personally don't really mind that much, because I'm focused more on the finished product and knowing Blizzard, that will be yet another super polished jewel that we will all love very much. I'd love to be in the beta though, but my priority really is the product on release.

Besides, Skyrim is out soon ish and that will keep me busy until D3 release.

I really don't agree with the notiion that Blizzard games when released are "super polished" or "perfect". They do a good job of putting out a quality product, but they also release a lot of patches post release. Are we playing the same games? Anyone remember playing D2 the first few months?

Even though they said they were OK with Photoshopping the image, I hope they go back and rethink what it would tell people if they veer off from their own rules. The title and description clearly say captions, not change this picture until it becomes funny.

If you change the picture, even a tiny bit, it defeats the purpose of creating a funny caption for the original.

I saw this, and I realized they most likely won't follow their own rules, but still decided to stick with the rules to be fair.

They said early on you can add anything to the picture aswell. Now you want to disqualify 99% of the post? Aren't you just a stickler.... You're still not going to get a key either way, muahaha.

posted a message on Hardcore still pure Diablo.
With all the changes causing so much ire. I figured I would atleast put a positive perspective out there in regards to game play. Hardcore mode, will still be hardcore. With the pay-to-rule functionality being implimented with normal mode, at first I must admit I was disapointed. After giving it a little though and reading a few articals, I found solace in the fact that hardcore players will not be able to buy their way to success.
