Ophion has a point. If there were not lvl reqs on runes than the whole normal difficultly would eventually become nothing. as with gear, I bet runes have a lvl req to use them in your skills.

As for if runes can be upgraded by combining lower lvl ones, I hope there is a system where you can do something this. Idk if it'll be as simple as combining 2, or 3 lower level runes to upgrade.

posted a message on Verizon iPhone Tomorrow! 1/11/11
It's been a damn long time comin', the Verizon iPhone is to be announced tomorrow at Verizon's news convention in NYC.

I follow Mac Rumors very closely for the latest rumors, and news on Apple. For months now everything has been pointing to a big event from both Apple, and Verizon. Between break cuts from both companies, the two CEO's seen out together, and ATNT's iPhone contract running out mid last year, it all pointed to it. Now, we have news from inside sources who've been proven consistent before.

SoldierKnowsBest is a youtube broadcaster who reviews mac products and news. If you're interested in Apple reviews, or news, follow him on your youtube channel, he makes quality videos.

Verizon claims it can handle the millions that will be switching over, and using the iPhone. Guess we'll have to wait and see!

All this talk about how duel crossbows are terrible, and impossible to use, you should comparing the other crazy things that other classes/skills of the DH do in contrast to using 2 crossbows. If you're going to boo about something not fitting the lore, or "realism" of the game than at least compare it with other extreme surrounding examples..

Crossbows feeling to much like guns? I can see that, mostly through her animations when she shots. I don't mind it honestly, I just see how someone could make the comparison.

Just reduce the damage in PvP, done.

Yeah that's kinda what I was thinking lol. Not only would that solve the problem, but there's no real other options.

Jay already said every skill in PvM would be in PvP, so they're not taking it out.

They could decrease the range in which the skill can travel, though I'm decent sure that's already part of the traits of the skill as you level it up.. Don't quote me on that..

The other tips offered in posts are viable, but cause new problems, thus is the nature of the beast though.

So really damage modification, and or mana cost (I forget what it's called for the Wizard) are the only sure fire options I see. Though I'm open for ideas I'm missing!

Idk if you're hinting at WoW, D2, or both lol. Either way, that kind of combining is a great way to help along the economy, and help the unlucky manage to get some decent runes.

Kinda not related to this post but...Does anybody know what level of rune was shown at blizzcon? Was rain of toads the first lvl or 3rd...or 7th?I wouldn't imagine they would show the highest level, but it seems like the wouldn't want to show the first lvl either.Or, because rune lvl just amplifies the original effect, does it not matter what level the rune is...

They did an example of a level one rune on magic missile compared to a level 7, the rune they used gave multi shot, level one was 2 shots, level 7 was 8 or even 10 shots, couldn't really tell. They show this at 2:42 in this video.

As for more runes, I highly doubt it, as Ophion said it would add more work ( ALOT more work, animations, concept, balancing ) as it would also add more confusion.

    To much choice causes paralysis.

(I think over 1/2 of my posts are in this thread lol, I love runes )

In pure Xdamage single element builds will probably be more powerful. As was said earlier, debuffs from cold, combine with some other kind of build could make it more efficient.

I don't think the D3 team will have one elements debuff superior, but combining two elements might make for more efficient kills.

I'm excited. Multiple types of damage is always fun. Why have to focus on just fire when I can have fire, lighting, and meteors?

Exactly. I'm really glad they got rid of the tree system.

If you can have it all on one char, the urge to play again with the same class decreases drastically, that's why.

This may be true to some degree, but the fact still stands ours first builds are not going to be perfect. The reskill feature they've added will help a small amount, but again they've said it will not give you the opportunity to restat/skill your whole build over again. So to perfect your build you're going to have to play a few times through.

Jay stated that they disliked how players had to do that just for one useful skill, thus why they got rid of that skill system all together. D2 was broken in many ways that they admitted to, and are doing their best to fix in D3. Seeing as now you don't have to build up to skills in high tiers via using your skill points, that problem is already fixed.

Some skills and deduffs will surely be more useful than others at points, such as Insane Courage like you said. I'll be playing a Barb, and likely always incorporating that into my build. Though as far as damage types are concerned, again there's really nothing I can back up my claim with other than that I feel having one damage type be more effective, whether it be just from its debuff, or it's damage output, just seems very against what they're trying to accomplish for PvM. As you said, I'd bet they'll tweak the numbers underneath the skill to balance them as much as possible.

    I hope at least

Though there's no information to be certain, I'd place a wager that the D3 team wouldn't force such a thing onto its players. Especially after all the work they've put into build possibilities.

I'm absolutely looking forward to all the runes and ranks, don't get me wrong.

Oh, one thing I wanted to ask was: does anyone know if having a rune on a skill is ALWAYS better than having no rune at all? I have the skill Hydra in mind when i ask this, because of the following: normal hydra is fire damage; then you can put all those runes on it to change its damage type, but do they add damage as well? if they do, it kind of sucks if you're specialising in fire (+fire skill dmg on items and such), as you'll have to leave the Hydra un-runed. Unless you find the one that gives you Hydra firewalls....

That's a good point. I guess in the rare circumstance that you need a certain type of damage type, that already exists in the unruned skill, and all the runes happen to change that (such as hydra) than I guess it'd be best to leave it.

Though, than you have to ask the question, did blizzard see this flaw, thus why they made at least one of the runes give hydra better fire damage? I sure hope so~
