Feb 12, 2011Winged posted a message on Activision Blizzard Q4 2010 Financial Results Conference CallSeeing as I'm jumping into this thread in it's midlife, I'll just chime in my thoughts.Posted in: News
The longer we give Blizzard the better the game will be. Period. This also brings to question how much control we have over Blizzard's choices on release. A whole bunch of fan sites bickering, not much effect on its own. Their stock dropping, A LOT more. An since with bickering comes stock drop to some degree, both have some effect I'm sure.
At this point we've waited so long I have zero problems with waiting until 2012. Let them innovate systems, and perfect them. Let them balance skills, and polish every pixel with a toothbrush. I want to be playing this game until I'm 30 (21 right now). I only hope the D3 team is strong willed enough to shun out all the bitching and perfect their baby. -
Jan 15, 2011Winged posted a message on Andy McKee Plays Diablo IIII'm sure IF he made any music for the game, it was well directed by the D3 team.Posted in: News
As for his own music, he's an amazing acoustic guitarist. I learned Drifting last year, though his original sounds better I'll admit.. I played it at a seaside boardwalk talent show and won first, most people had never heard it, amazing. -

Sep 29, 2009Winged posted a message on What Do YOU Want To Know About Diablo 3?I would like to know how much very high class gear will stand out from lower classes gear in appearance.Posted in: News
I understand gear in D3 gear is made to be more logically sized/decorated than WoW, but I would like to know if there might be items with for example, if a chest piece is named after a fallen angel, might thus might have small glowing wings on the back. Or if a shoulder piece is named after a demon, might have dark fog flowing out of it.
Things like that =) Btw I don't post much, sooo hi guys lol -

Very true. I'm really excited to see how each rune will effect each skill, I'm sure some will be outstanding! Runes and animated high level armor must be the things that I'm most giddy over.
Not problem, check out Diablo3Inc on youtube, click the Diablo 3 uploaded section, and watch till your hearts delight. It took me a good week to get through them all, but you pretty much know everything there is to know after it all.

Oh, but I am over excited :woot: the usefulness of that 1 extra lighting jump is insurmountable considering you're using it 40 times a minute. With a mid level rune you're doing a good x5 more damage per shot. As Jay mentions, not all the runes are equally useful, as you said a chance for a monster to explode causing damage isn't all that useful. Though in my opinion is freakin' awesome, and worth having just for the fun aspect, (that's why we play games, correct?).
Kind of like the Zombie bears for the WD, uber useful? Questionable.. Awesome? I'd say yes.

So not only are their 5 runes which each changes the traits, and animation of the skill, there are 7 levels to each rune, which is a HUGE amount of customization.
Figure 30 skills per class, 5 ways to change each, so that's already 150 different ways to change your skills. Now add the 7 levels to each of the runes, to each skill, to all 30 skills.
It comes out to 5250 separate skill variations per class.
Found it!
Skip to 2:40 in this video, though I honestly suggest watching all of it, in fact, watch the who 1-4 panel if you haven't seen it.
Knew it was hiding somewhere...

I own 5 guitars; An A13C Alvarez, my father passed this down to me, it's stunning. An EXP Deluxe, Taylor Grand Concert (Spent 2 months of pay checks on this one.. I think you can see it in one of my gallery photos), A cheap-o fender, and a Epiphone Les Paul Black Beauty 3 <3
Honestly I have no real favorite guitarist(s), I hear so many things I like I've never settled on even a small list of favorites. On that same note, I don't really follow any genre of music closely as to what I play alone.
I've been part of a band for 5 years called An Open Ended Sky, we play gigs at The Stone Pony and local bars, we were playing in the back ground at Shark Bait bar in an episode of Jersey Shore (God I hate that show..) as they were recording the boardwalk, I though that was pretty neat though lol.
I've been playing since I was 13, never had lessons.. Self teaching sucks, learning how to play comes with practice, learning how to read and write music, not so much lol.
Anywho, glad to see some others!!
Shred the Gnar boys~

I don't think Sacrifice is much a straight forward as that. You're not going to summon zombie dogs, sacrifice them, summon zombie dogs, sacrifice them, over and over. It's a very useful way to get more damage out of them as they approach the end of their life, as we saw in the Siege Breaker boss fight.
Sooner or later your pets are going to get mauled, and what better way to do massive damage to that mod than to blow up into chunks!

All the female demons would fight for him, it'd be great! lol. Really though, I couldn't care what he looks like.. Mostly because I'll be playing a Barb :whistling:, and to me the barb looks awesome. Plus this is all based off opinion anyway, most of what there is left to talk about is all opinion~
Let the opinionated discussions commence!

Though I'm not 100% sure those items are custom made, definitely under a strong lighting effect, but could be models.. Also might not be.. I can hope models will look that good lol.

So say you were looking for a maul with some kind of elemental enchantment. You stroll over to your blacksmith and just look and see if there is a maul around his shop, and if it has a lightning, frost, fire or any other kind of aura around it.
It wouldn't work so well with the jeweler though, seeing his items are so small.
That's what I meant
Again though, you're right that it would probably be a lot of work for the little eye candy.

I talked it over with my 2 friends who play D2 and they liked it, one of them is in fact a programmer in schooling, though he admitted to having no idea on how hard it would be to do so late in development. Though the fact that they built their own engine to run the game would mean it's definitely possible.

So I was thinking, what if the items an artisan has in his/her inventory at any given time, transfer to what items you see in their shop actively in game?
Sure the effect would be more apparent for the blacksmith contrast to the jeweler, but this could be an awesome UI.
On top of the standard listing that you get when you talk to the artisan, you could hover over the items, live in shop and see their stats. Or spot something you need at a glance.
Sure, it wouldn't do for a replacement for the regular UI, but I think it's a neat concept.

I'll ignore the part of your post about this, since you're obviously being nit picky. Yes, I know that scoliosis is, thus my mention of the witch doctor and his obvious back problems lol.
Guess we'll have to agree to disagree~
Anywho, (LMAO) at the second pic Azriel XD

I agree that sexiness as a selling point is lame, but they did the same thing in D2. Take the Amazon, Sorce, and Andy for instance lol.
The hunched over posture would certainly set him apart from the male wizard, who has a very straight, leaning on his heals kinda stance. As they've stated having the class'es silhouettes be easily identifiable is very important, makes sense. In game cam I'm sure he'll look great, but from a front on view I don't care how big your lats are (take Bruce Lee for instance!!) you do not hunch over like that. Though again, as said, stance must be over done to be noticed from game cam.
Edited for terrible grammar.. Been awake for 21 hours X( no more posting lol..

Not to make my first post an objection, but I don't feel this is very "Diablo". The predictability of getting a certain weapon from a certain type of monster is much more WoW than Diablo, and not a feature I personally would like I see make it's way into Diablo 3. When a rare item drops from a regular mob, it's like getting a Christmas gift in July
