Quivers are my favrite item type as of right now! They are a very cool way of improving the DH damage when bows are tipically weaker (because they are ranged...?) I am excited to see how they effect end game damage choices especially since you can use them with both 1 handed and 2 handed bows. Although it could just be that the best DH weapon combinations do not include the 1-hand +quiver. Too bad we can't yet compair high level 1 hand and 2 hand crossbows.

posted a message on Question for Blizzard: Demon Hunter's Shadow Glide, How Does It Work???
if you want a BLizzard response, you should use the official forums. This is a fan site only, but the people here are very well informed. the info you have is directly contradictory to the most recent info on the Battle.net website and patch infromation. If it is changed in the internal build, then we can't know it anyway. What they said is the most accurate information available to the public as of yet.

I generally agree, but I feel that Sacrifice s a very cool skill (I don't like firebats as much :P) It would be great if Locust Swarm or Spirit walk or Wall of Zmbies etc.etc could make it in.

Not a fan of charms and talismans, unless they'd make some seperate window for it, because in D2 to me it was a massive waste of inventory space, and i hate that. Having something taking 3/4 of your inventory just for additional buffs is meh.

The Talismn is an area where charms are placed to grant you benefeit such that they don't occupy space in your inventory, so Its your (and my) dream come true!

    Quote from EvilMunky

I have a sneaking suspicion we'll be seeing both these return in future expansions. Assuming there will be 2 expansions (fingers crossed) I'm thinking we will see Charms (or at least something similar) appear in Expansion 1, probably along with an extra stash tab. I believe the Mystic will make her return in Expansion 2. The extra item enhancements from here would make the most sense for true (fully expanded) endgame imho.

My guess is that they will add the Talisman and the Mystic at the same time and the Mystic will be the artisan who works on the talisman and its charms (pun intended) making the talisman larger and maybe mixing charms to produce higher level charms. If people are still compaining about 'No Unque Builds' they may even allow her to boost the effectiveness of your rune choices (for a cost maybe based on level or something) for a maximum of 6 runes at one time. You could go back and change which runes with some more money, but it would give the critics something that feels more impactful while not removing the freedom and making her even more mystical!

I don't like the Toad Affinity rune, you should be fine mana-wise without it and instead of horrify I would ge with Mass Confusion With either devolution (dogs for sheild); Paranoia(Additional Damage); or Mass Hysteria (Stunes up to 6 no confused enemies). The Toad Affinity may be more a taste thing, but the Mass Confusion helps you not take damage when you close to spam your toads and doesn't decrease youre damage like Horrify will.

Edit: Oh and Maninel, check out the Skill Video For Fetish Army. It looks pretty clear that they can be attacked.

If you are concerned that an Off-Hand weapon will lower your DPS then keep a sheild handy and if you don't have an Item that can compare to your best 1-hander put the shield on. You get the benefits of a second items properties but never have a poor weapon to swing. It makes sense that a bad weapon would lower your ability to do damage when you try to use it.

You're forgetting that dual wielding automatically gets a bonus 15% attack speed. It swings faster than sword and board - period. Therefore it does more damage. I believe it should decrease your damage.

No, I'm actually aware of the speed bonus. I'm a little confused about your opinion switching from one phrase to another, but whatever.
Let's try a little calculation. So your mainhand weapon does x dps. If you use it alone with no offhand, you do x dps. If you equip a shield, you may even do a little more depending on it's stats. Now if you equip a second weapon with y dps, your x dps are gone and -simply put- morphed into (x+y)/2 * 1.15.
So, if x = y, you gain 15% damage. But if y < x, you can actually get less than x dps as a result if the difference is big enough. I checked this ingame, so if you don't believe me, try it on your own.
So, to put it a little extreme: DW is only viable, if you have your one, big, amazing weapon twice. Odds are, your best two weapons at any given point will vary in dps.
As a result, the offhand plays an important role, which is good, but this role is called "mirror the mainhand or drag you down". Still don't like this :)

And here we have the problem of making DPS so important. so the Off-Hand can reduce your DPS, yes, if it low enough. But, It does not reduce the damage of your Main Hand weapon. That weapon's damage is still what it was, and will be the damage of attacks that use the Main Hand damage (like most Fury spenders and probably Leap Attack etc.) but attacks that alternate will first use the Main Hand weapon, dealing massive damage, then use the Off-Hand.

If your total DPS didn't drop then it would be like equipping a spoon that you never use and attacking faster with your Main Hand. That doesn't make sense. If you don't attack with your Off-Hand you don't get greater Attack Speed, when you attack with your Off-Hand, you should deal the damage of that weapon (you should not deal Beastly Axe of Critical Demise damage with you Spoon of Noodles, but instead your Spoon of Noodles damage). This results in the DPS drop if you use an Off-Hand with insufficiently high damage.

It would be like saying that x+x+x+x should always be less than x+y+x+y+x just because there are more numbers. but 10+10+10+10 is obviously going to be greater than 10+1+10+1+10. From what I can determine with some mental math you need to be within 10% to not lose DPS, and this does not seem too big a problem.

    Edit for readability

I'm pretty sure summoned minions like that don't give any XP. I've tried it with the 4 pillars event and the Resplendent chest event, none of the summoned skeletons were worth XP.

For a long time summoned minions in some of those events weren't even counting for massive blows, glad they fixed it.

I think the SK still does not grant XP for massive blows and massacres, but I don't know for jondar, sadly it looks like the character was maxed already.

Nice relatively low level build, esp if you take something like one with everything instead of combination strike. can probably finish it by the end of Nightmare.

posted a message on no summons build. possible?
The Origional build is ok, but I would just suggest putting gruesom Feast instead of Pierce the Veil. That will increase your damage, but also help with mana.
I have a crazy build with no summons that I think might actually wrk to. It's simply all of the Spirit (blue colored) abilities. It gives 2 nice damage spells, CC, a good escape, and a big buff. Rune as you like.
Here it is, But there are plenty of options if you don't want pets.

Hammers and Axes, nothing else will satisfy my brutality!. If I use a 1 hander I will likly also use a shield, but 1-hand vs 2-hand depends on build

I'd probably start in Normal because of my GF, but I think I would hop into nightmare for myself because A: 3 difficulties are plent to move through, and B: it's probably the only higher level that you can do naked (assuming you get appropriate levels when you choose a difficulty)

Maximum values for Highest tier gear affixes

effects of elemental damage other than type change (if reintroduced)

Category each skill falls under for each class (ex Fury generator/fury spender/Utility; Primary/secondary/etc.; CC/Healing/no Damage/AoE/etc.)

    Set Name and components

Chance of crafting material produced (ex. Magic Item level 32-51: Subtle Essence 40%, Shimmering Essence 50% Fallen Tooth 9% Lizard Eye 1%)

Great News post and that was a sweet video! I think that a bunch of that was the end of Act 3/Early Act 4 too!

How DPS/skill damage is calculated and what their relation is

    How DR/armor is calculated

A List of defined Key terms (Ex. Critical Hit is a chance to do X bonus damage. The chance to Critically Hit is Y base + Z +a + b.)

How Resistances etc. are affected by the difference between character level and monster level

    Monster level average by Act/Difficulty/Area/Quest

How buffs/debuffs/DoTs/etc. stack (Does no poison DoT damage stack? can different skills DoTs stack if they are the same damage type? different damage type? and how about from different players? etc.

Unwritten Skill mechanics/values (ex. what percent chance does unruned locus swarm have to jump to more than 1 target? any target? how many times can it jump? does it jump x times per second? etc. or How fast does Familiar attack, what is it's range, does it need line of sight? or Hungering Arrow Requires a bow equipped Grenades does not need a bow equipped)

How Levels change skills (ex. Cost +c/ level)

How green numbers change on any given skill. Levels? Runes? Gear (affix or damage)? Passive? Combination? Not at all? Etc.

    That's all for now
