Blizzard should offer something unique, cool for seasonal players. The stash tab is just a pathetic replacement for that.

I don't think anyone can disagree that the rewards for playing season should be much cooler than this. Maybe give some additional rewards for players unlocking the seasonal achievements for 2-3 seasons in a row.

I agree with the fact that the stash tab is the wrong reward for players to play seasons. Stash tabs are things that NS players and HC players need more of. Seasons I believe should get the cosmetic rewards. Not sure about items only obtainable in seasons. If this was the case, I think everyone will be playing seasons sooner or later as if there was an item that was necessary for a particular build, you wouldn't want to miss out on it. I was happy with the previous arrangement where seasonal players get exclusive access to certain items for a season and NS would get access at the end of seasons.

Personally, I think cosmetics are the way to go... isn't game breaking and lets seasonal players show off their accomplishments without breaking the game.

Anywho, I do agree that ns players need the space more and blizzard forcing you into season sucks but it's not that bad.

I originally was of the mindset of "I don't want to start over" but I also am at the point of ancient hunting or min/maxing stats on my gear. So doing this was a very nice change of pace and rewarded me with something permanent.

having a plan on gear also helps as far as what to upgrade.

The starting over part isn't that bad with Haedrig's Gift. For those who have Day 1 to devote to leveling up and gearing, you can be T10 by the end of the day. Day 2 definitely if you have the weekend free or after 12-15hrs for those who are casually grinding and don't get a powerlevel (10 if you do).

I also found it useful for min/maxing to do seasons... playing 40hrs with that one class seems to improve chances of dropping what I needed. Got tonnes of upgrades for my UE DH set up in that I now have all ancient UE gear, ancient hunter's wrath, and better DML to use when I get back to NS. Also found an ancient zoey's secret with dex, vit, AR and 9% leg affix roll.

Just got my stash tab for two accounts. Bit over 2 weeks time but I was also on holidays for 4 days of it. NS player here proving it can be done in 40hrs or less if you plan properly and play efficiently.

But I don't agree with the snobs saying that NS players who don't want to do seasons don't deserve more stash space. C'mon, it's stash space... space that's needed if you were to hold all 24 sets, with different stats in key item slots and complimentary legs - probably more applicable to NS players. It is what it is but the tabs should be unlockable in both modes.

I have no choice but to accept it too, this is the way Blizzard wants it and at this point I think is unlikely that they will make a U turn. Either I bite the bullet and do it or just carry on without.
Said that I did not take into account this 'Rebirth' option that oldschool_2o4f suggested, that does make things easier. I am unsure when it was introduced but I had never noticed it until he brought it to my attention.
What does rub me the wrong way is getting these adjectives being thrown around willy-nilly... 'lazy', 'entitled'... well, neither. I just play the game in the way that Blizzard doesn't want it to be played: solo, non-season, and without being a mendicant.
As such I am reluctant to level a character from complete zero, which I have already been doing since vanilla days and farm the exact same gear I already have in non-season all over again in order to enable me to do what I am already doing: trying builds and killing demons.
It might be what the game needs to stay alive, it may not. It doesn't mean I have to like it either way. I might need to do it, but it will be one of those 'grit your teeth and get it over with' not a 'oh, all those people were right, this is really enjoyable, why I didn't try it earlier? I should have listened to the contemptuous and patronising c**ts.'
You enjoy playing the game the way Blizzard intended: playing seasons in group and begging left right and centre when your resources alone will not suffice. Splendid. You get rewarded for it era after era. Chances are you will still be getting rewarded for it until Blizzard shuts the servers down.

Rebirth was introduced at the same time the extra stash tabs unlocked in seasons were.
TBH, leveling up a character from lvl1 isn't the chore that it sounds like if you set things up well. Join an active clan with knowledgeable players and the 1-70 experience can be quite fun when you do it in a group.
Haedrig's gift also makes getting back to higher Torment levels much faster and usually by P300 I have all 4 sets for the class I'm playing.
I pick classes I want to devote a bit more time to, usually because I've neglected playing that class in NS for a while.
Season 5, I rolled Sader. The Invokers set was revamped that patch so it was quite a fresh experience. Season 6 I played Barb. Never played with Raekors and I also set up a WW barb too for farming. Also completed my BK swords set in ancient. Play DH on my alt account in S6 as that class was easy to get the tab with.
This season, despite playing some DH already, I decided to roll DH on both accounts just to make getting the tab easier. And despite playing a lot of UE DH in NS already, I got the chance to find missing ancient pieces of UE, and also get my alt account an ancient Yangs, Nat Slayer and Manticore too. I'll also be trying out other builds like the N6/M4 and S2/M2 builds.
Next season, I'll probably roll WD on my main account. Arachyr is a set I've yet to play with properly and it has an easy set dungeon. It is also sufficiently powerful to get the tab. Alt account, I'll roll Barb... IK is another easy set dungeon and I'd like to top up on some Barb gear on the alt account.
Will I continue to play seasons after unlocking all my stash tabs? Probably not. I might get a powerlevel and do the first 4 chapters at the back end of seasons to get the portrait and cosmetic item but that's about it. This year has been an inconvenience more than anything to get the full set of tabs in my stash but I admit it's something different. I wouldn't want to play the hours I have this year though after my stash is fully unlocked.

Yeah, all 15 characters I have do double duty as mules too. I have at least one stash tab empty so I can offload my inventory when I play a character and have to put it back at the end of that game.
Though, I do think that with some proper planning all players can get their extra stash tabs unless they play less than 40hrs per season.
I've just come to accept the situation. My guess is that the dev team needed to show their changes and ongoing work required with the game is successful and Seasons was the biggest addition so participation needed to be up there to justify to Blizzard management why the game needs to continue being supported. Whilst this isn't the perfect scenario, we at least have an option for getting more tabs. It could have been worse... we could have been stuck with just 5 tabs still.
And this is coming from someone with two D3 accounts so I have twice as much work to get my tabs unlocked.

Your only option is to "rebirth" the character, and get your stash tab in less than 30 days, so you can reclaim your stuff from the email.

Or plan ahead and not accumulate too much new gear between seasons like what I'm doing. Though with the 9th stash tab gained now, it's a bit easier to manage gear. Also helps that the tab has allowed me to put all my FnR rings in one place and delete the ones with absolutely no use.

Know what's a true casual for me?

A guy that plays couple of hours on weekends when his children go to bed. And it takes 3 months for him to accomplish what he wants in season. He barely makes it in time and asks for help at the very end of the season because he is simply unable to play for "2-3 hours every day" and do that god damn gr75. .Now think, if this guy needs a stash tab or not.

So your definition of a casual is someone who is hopeless... clearly you're out of touch with what casual playing can accomplish.
How long has RoS been out for? Over 2yrs? If someone was only able to for 1hr for some wind down time, every second night of the week, I'd deem that to be rather casual. Guess what? Before this year and having to unlock the stash tab via seasons, that was me. And guess what? I had a full stash and full character inventories with almost every set for all classes as well as decent complimentary legendaries. It was full to the point where emptying one character for seasons meant I couldn't play NS until I unlocked the stash tab.
Some of us have been playing D3 since day 1 and despite being casual, we rack up a fair few good items too which we need space for. We may not put 10hrs in per day... why would we? We don't repeat the same thing every 3 months... we have lives to get on with so we plan ahead, keep good gear so we don't have to unnecessarily hunt it down again and still get to enjoy the game. We know how to follow a bloody gearing guide and do better than GR75 still.

Or you can get a rank 30+ hoarder, 10-11k gold find and do the cursed peat event on one of the new torment levels instead of farming up 100 or more bounty caches.

And agree that it's around 40hrs to get the stash tab. As a primarily NS player, I've gotten mine already and am doing it for my alt account too. And I've had a 4 day holiday on the Monday to Thurs after season started!

I personally dislike seasons as such; but I really enjoy the opening weekend, playing with friends and getting the stash tab as soon as possible. If I had more time I'd just play non-season.
This is where i am with the game. Was never a big fan of seasons as the "fresh start" is not progress which is what I'm after with this game. I'm just doing it for the stash tab. I enjoy the starting weekend too but I can't say that I like sitting down for the number of hours required. I've got 3 more seasons in me... two to get the full stash on my main account and then one more to get the full stash on my alt account. Then I'll probably call it quits from seasons for most part unless there's a cosmetic I really want. Luckily I only need to finish Chapter 4 for that.
Ironically, it's because I don't have much time that I prefer NS. It allows me to chip away... an hour or two per night and show results. That play rate in seasons with the reset just doesn't get anywhere before the next season starts.

there must be playing in Europe servers from AUS and NZ?

So that you're clear, you can play on the European region from Australia
And as you are aware, the AU server is tied to the Americas region, but even if the AU server was tied to the European region in anyway, if the host of the game is outside of Australia, you will still get bad ping. This because the game instance is hosted on the server closest to the leader of the party. And if you were the host on the AU server, all your EU friends will have bad ping so someone will lose out because of the geographical distance.
But I concur with the advice on getting out and about more while you're in Australia, and just spend the 40-60hrs getting the stash tab in Seasons so you don't miss out.
And yes, there are lots of animals in Australia that can kill you... you just need to be mindful of these things depending on where you're venturing to.
