I am not contradicting myself, I said strategy will be more important as suppose to class combinations. However, how many strategies will there be? Not very many. Why? The mechanics are quite simple, there are no healers, no buffs, no debuffs.
The most popular strategy will probably be "ganking". Now this is the most rudimentary strategy one team can pull off.
As seen in the video from Blizzcon 2010 PvP Arena, a proper gank can kill a Wizard in matter of seconds. And the rest of the team just falls apart since its 2vs3.
What other viable strategy do you see? when people will be dying left and right in seconds. Think of Diablo 2 characters bounded inside an Arena. I think you get the picture if you imagine what that would look like.

Meaning Barb > Wizard, or Monk > Demon Hunter doesn't exist, otherwise they make up for a very very... bad game
Same reason why there is no healing class. Every hero is a kick ass and the best they can be.
3 vs 3 will not necessarily come down to class but more of a strategy based. Although, mixing classes are good at times, it can also hurt you in some ways. We can't say anything about how 3 v 3 is going to work but all I know is... it will be VERY gear dependent. No matter what combination of class you have, one demon Hunter could potentially destroy the entire team if he has amazing gear compared to his enemies.
I don't think there is going to be much strategy involved in 3 vs 3, especially when each round is going to end under 30 seconds, or 1 minute at most. It will be mostly be kill first or lose.
So maximum damage output rather than high defense.
This is my opinion.

If you've seen some of the features from Battle net 2.0 in SC2, its completely and utterly crap.
You can't expect any kind of community to grow from such horrible system. I am not specifically targeting the lack of sophisticated Chat channels, but in general the custom game system is out of the flow.
The entire D3 is based on custom games, since there are no dedicated servers and etc. I am pretty sure Jay Wilson and his team has some creative idea to make it easier to find/search games. I feel bad for Jay since Dustin Bowder really fuked up SC2 and the entire Battle net 2.0
I just sincerely hope Blizzard wakes up and implement some neat features... They seem to be going back in time as far as Battle net is concerned. Other gaming companies put heavy emphasis on online interactions and community but I am unsure why Blizzard has not yet to achieve that.
It's no wonder why no body talks about Battle.net 2.0 being the greatest invention. It's utter crap.

It's been done for the past 2 sequel, and I doubt Blizzard will make Diablo the ending of D3.
Sure, he'll be back and we'll slaughter him like before, but I'd imagine something more powerful awaiting us.

I'll tell you what's lame. Ending the game by killing Diablo for the 3 consecutive series.
Diablo 1, Diablo 2, and now Diablo 3? Hahaha, I'm sure most will agree that this is a worst ending possible and it is highly unlikely to happen.
As much as you don't like twist ending, it's probably what Blizzard has already planned for us.
I don't see the death of Diablo being a viable ending to Diablo 3. It will probably be the most boring game storyline known to humanity in 21st century. Every story has a twist, and my theory is just a speculation of what that twist might be.
I believe Blizzard is creative, and has captured some imaginative aspects between the world of Hell and Heaven.
What that could be? probably Heaven turning away from us? why not?

What is exactly Bastion or whatever you guys call it?
I only have idea of what Act 1 and Act 2 will look like. But clueless to what Act 3 can possibly look like.
Does act 3 resemble any sign of Hell or appearance of Diablo ?

Max point on each skill range from 2 ~ 5 and there are 3 (tech route) you can take per class. 22 ~ 25 skill per class.
So that comes out to be 7~8 skill per tech route. (Defensive, passive, offensive) is one example.
And you can actually learn more than 7 skills. Though, you may only have 7 on a macro key from 1 ~ 7

I'm leaning towards Act 4 being in Heaven. It will be somewhat of an exciting way to finish the game, as we all know there will be an expansion. Perhaps, Heaven will be threatened by Tyrael, the keeper himself.
Act 3 - Hell (Dreadlands)
Act 4 - Heaven
Expansion Act 5 - Tyrael's Sanctuary [Not sure if this will be in Heaven, but probably near]
- All monsters in this act are raised by Tyrael the evil himself, which are even stronger than ever.
The final act Boss Tyrael, who is now fully evil as suppose to half evil half good (from D3 original). The last remaining Evil in the world must come to an end.It has the form of an angel but has both angelic and devilish power that he can both manipulate to his own.
P.S - The party cap has increased to 6 just to compensate for Tyrael's Power.

How many issues do you think Blizzard expect us to find with 1 ~ 2 dungeons to play ?
you have to remember we're not given the entire game to fix or balance, unlike SC2.
SC2 took a whooping 5 months because they had to fix the "entire" game to meet balance expectations.
In Diablo 3, they are not going to balance anything. [It would be absurd to do so, as I said we simply dont have time to encounter 100+ different item combinations and not to metion there are 15 gems and 7 runes per each skill and item.]
That being aside, D3 are going to fix/test the basics.
- Server stress test(Probably will invite 250,000+ in the end)
- Battle.net 2.0 integrations
- User Interface
- Minor Bugs in the game.
Such as Movement, item being stuck in salvaging mode etc..

What I want to talk about is the ending act, the Act 4. From a game developer's point of view, I would hate to end another diablo franchise by killing Diablo. I strongly believe they have changed the story or put a twist to it.
My own speculation of how and where Act 4 is going to play out.
(This is just my own idea, if you have your own please feel free to share!)
Act 4 will start with a cinematic video introduction.
- The clip is the continuation of what happened after Tyrael throws his sword at the red evil chamber? in Baal's Throne.
- Tyrael finally thinks this world is free of evil, as he himself was the one to eliminate them and witness with his own eyes.
- However, little did he know that by destroying the evil chamber, he was vulnerable to being corrupted despite him being wholly good.
- *Twist* Tyrael is corrupted but not fully. He's inner goodness is still fighting the evil thats inside him. Now he is half evil and half good, hes decisions are immoral at times. He still has access to heaven and hell.
The world wants us to eliminate Tyrael before he turns completely evil.
We might have to travel back and forth from hell to heaven in Act 4, to trace down Tyrael's whereabouts and etc...
Again this is just my own thoughts
I also want to hear your own versions of Act 4
P.S - I didn't want to include my own version of Act 4 from start to finish. I kept the important part of my speculation. We will obviously kill Diablo in Act 4, but he is probably the one who comes just before Tyrael, as Tyrael > Diablo.

I don't think that is the case.
Jay Wilson quote on quote said "Beta will begin 6 months before the release" in the last Blizzcon.
Was there any official post on whether the beta is going to last 6 months? I havn't seen one let me know if there is.
People are still wobbly as to how long beta will be, as of now all we know is it will start 6 months before the release.
If you take packaging + final fix on bugs and finishing touch.... that's going to take at least 2 months.
So It's safe to assume the beta will be around 2 ~ 3 months, to compensate for any major error that could occur. Perhaps in the packaging department or the game itself. Always good to leave enough time to work, never want to be under strict schedule. example, release beta -> fix -> packaging. That cannot take 6 months exactly, that should be done well under 4 months and half to 5 months. So beta is most likely going to be a short one 2 ~ 3 months, just to check that everyone can run the game, and no minor bugs or glitches between character movement and UI selections etc...

Just dont... ok? I don't want to play Diablo 3, I never waited your games for 8 years and I'm never going to wait.

Yea I feel like the 6 months beta for an action RPG is an overkill. SC2 only took 5 months because the game's popularity depended on the whole concept of "balance". On the other hand, Diablo's balance is somewhat more flexible. There are too many variables which can counter what one may call "unbalance" by using different items/skill runes/ traits/ tactics.
In my opinion, we won't get to the final stage of balance, which is maybe 1 year after the release of the actual game. This is going to be a working progress, and you can't just blatantly say something is imbalance in PvP when we have not discovered through other 500 variations to counter it.
Matter in fact, a game like SC2 is arguably still unbalanced. And a well known strategy for balancing by Blizzard is they release small patches to sink in with the players, and want to see how it plays out. Which is better in my opinion rather than, removing a whole unit or critically making some unit utter crap.
[With the exception of reaper and hightemplar, which was obviously broken to the max]
I don't think PvP will be a main focus now, although that's what I thought initially. There is no way, they'll even consider a possibility of changing even 1 skill during the Beta, because they simply wont have gathered all the data neccesary. For god sakes, we'll probably be stuck on one item.
P.S - People at Blizzcon were given a SC2 Beta Card, it had the beta code for SC2.
I'm pretty sure everyone in Blizzcon got it, just not all of them played and registered.

Just use the secure method of randomly choosing beta testers and automatically registering D3 Beta on their acc.
Giving beta keys in the goody bag is like giving free $500, probably more since high demand and low supply of keys.
Just announce it during summer and be totally safe with black market deals.
