Thanks for compiling all this information Phrozen,
Here is my score
5/5 Easy
2/5 Medium
0/5 Hard
0/1 Master
That was much harder than I expected. ( read the first book about a couple months ago, and I am working on the 3rd one now, while reading Archive at the same time )

Real cool. I was actually wondering about this today.
I got to Hell difficulty for the first time today, and I was wondering... Is this the end? I hope not! (don't get me wrong it is hard as is)
I always wondered why there were all these special pandemonium and uber bosses in D2. (never got there though)
Great news to hear! It is also good that they are making all areas of equal level once your reach that inferno difficulty, it should be more fun that way.

P.S: Now I understand why Blizz Replied "ORLY" when someone mistaked D3's accessibility for easiness. -

Jun 13, 2011ZTZaorish posted a message on Sanctuary Speculation: ImperiusDisclaimer: Although I have not read the Diablo books, (As I am not in the U.S currently and have not been able to get my hands on a book yet.) I have tried to keep up with a majority of the posts about Lore and Lore discussion.Posted in: News
I also believe Lore may at times lead to too much speculation and not enough core ideas about what the producers may think is good for the game. (but don't get me wrong, I love Lore)
First of all,
Great article!
Second,
I would like to discuss when we will see Imperius.
I am going to assume that the boss from the D3 cinematic is going to be last boss in D3. Since Blizz always seems to show last bosses in their cinematics. (D1,D1 Hellfire, D2, D2 expansion)
I am also going to assume that Imperius is way to cool/powerful to be an earlier boss.
This leads me to believe that Imperius will be a final boss in an expansion of D3, probably the first.
Why?
What else would make me want to buy the expansion more than having the ability to fight a badass angel boss being included?
...
Well... nothing really.
For some reason I feel that if they included fighting angels in the basic game, then they would not being able to introduce it as a "new" idea in the subsequent expansion.
Please let me know what you think.

Here are a couple choices:
a. The Sin War books
b. Diablo 2 story/cinematics
c. The Sword of Justice comic
d. D3 released cinematics
e. The Diablo 1 story/cinematics
I tried to run a poll for this but I have not been able to, having some issues on this computer.
Personally I will focus on the Book of Cain and the D3 released cinematics as well as a little look at the Sword of Justice comics.
What about you?

It is canon. I have the Book of Cain and it does mention Jacob.

That being said, minecraft isn't everyone's cup of tea. (I never thought it would be mine *no pun intended*
I also am leveling a barbarian solo and trying to get him to Baal. Unfortunately I am stuck at Act IV, the mobs are just in too big of packs for my barb and barb merc to handle! :/
So, I spend 30 min- 1 hour a day leveling him.
I would play other games, but my computer is too weak.
I also recommend Civilization 5. (quite alot of depth to it.)
Additionally, I really enjoy Rise of Nations, especially with my friends. (Strategy game buff :D)

I agree with you about the non-canonical lore. I also believe it will not be related.
I am glad to hear that the comic is canon. (Where did you hear this?)

Yeah, of course. I just use non-canonical to refer to the books.
Thanks for your opinion, I hope more people post about this. I thought this thread would be a little more popular.

This has brought me to wonder, as I am sure many of you may have wondered in the past too.
1. How much (if any) effect or mentioning of the events that happened in the non-cannon diablo books will be mentioned in Diablo 3. (or reffered to)
2. Do you want these tie -ins from the non-canonical books to occur in D3 at some point?
-ZTZaorish

He is right. The book of Cain goes a step deeper in to the details of the story.
Additionally, it helps you speculate into the events which may occur in Diablo 3.
If you want a really in-depth version of what happens before Diablo I (which sets up the story) you can check out the sin war novel. They may not be the most exciting. (In my opinion) They are helpful nonetheless. These books do not describe everything that happened before (like details on the mage clan wars) but they are quite helpful in giving you a good base.
I just wish the other stories were cannon. (legitimate)

This is GOOD news: "We should expect more details of a release in the upcoming weeks." How is this not good news? They actually mention that they will inform us of release date in the following weeks. This is as close as we have ever gotten to them actually stating the release date.
As for the Q2 not possibly being early 20120 I am confused by people's anger.
Don't tell me you were still expecting the game to be in your hands by Q1, it is Feb10 now, Q1 ends in March right?
Additionally "EARLY" just means what people perceive it to mean.
If blizz had said "Our definition of early is the first 4 months, and we will release the game in that time"
And then they messed up I would understand. But they didn't say that.
They just said they are trying to get the game out in "early" 2012. That is all.. "TRY"
I view early as anywhere until april, maybe even May.
So please, quit your complaining. Because the people complaining today, will be the ones complaining if the game comes out too early and isn't up to their standards.
Love you guys,

I will probably pick a male character. This is because I want to play the monk and I don't like the female skin/look that much.
How about you?

Wow, how ignorant...
I live in South Korea right now.
Gaming is not a past time here, it is a plague.
I don't know about you sister's students, but I, never see any of my middle school students out late at night. (3 am)
This may depend on how good the school is. Maybe your sister is working at a school with a lower ranking and poorer students.
Poorer students tend to mess around more.
Anyways, South Korea has a "bali bali" lifestyle.
Meaning they live life on the fastlane. They take this fast living to the extreme. They work really hard, they study really hard. They try to meet their friends no matter how little time they have, they eat really spicy food.
Everything they do is based on this "bali bali" ideology. This is one of the reasons they have surged forward as a world economy from being a war-torn country.
Additionally the after-school activities are usually taking part in a Hagwon class. This is basically after school school. Yeah, that's right. After school school. It is a private institution / academy where students go to study the various subjects that they study at school. Some of them stay there really late. (9pm-12am finishing time) Education is paramount in South Korea, and parents push their kids so hard.
I am not surprised your sister's students are doing that. The boys really love gaming, and they are so busy with these Hagwon that they are not able to have some time to relieve their stress.Basically, they live life at such a fast pace, that these kids even consider sacrificing a couple hours of sleep in the morning to be able to game. I guess you could say it keeps them going.
Anyways it is sad that things are this way, but they are.
All I can say my friends, is consider yourself lucky because man if you wanna succeed here you need to live and breath studying.
I hope this helped you understand.

My pick is exactly the opposite.
I believe Auriel gives hope to others. That type of person/angel is the best way to end the suffering in the world of Sanctuary. If Uldyssian and the Nephalem had med Auriel during the sin war in a personal matter. They would have felt that Heaven is not an opponent, but an ally. They could have perhaps even made an alliance against hell. As we all know though, things didn't go that way.
Imperius on the other hand reminds me of an overzealous Crusader. He will slay all that is in his way, and will take his allies down with him in the process. Mark my words, his overzealousness will only cause trouble for Heaven and the Nephalem. Additionally, he reminds me of Arthus in Warcraft III. Always angry and lost in his own hatred, and his need to "purify the land". Makes me sick.

Really?
Reduced stash size heh? Well sounds fine by me, I believe that most people won't have any in-game issues with that.
Except maybe hoarders, or people who make many characters really quickly.
I believe they will increase if it is needed later on.
When is this GDC?
