posted a message on Development and Delays
I'm sorry OP, but you clearly don't understand one vital and significant reason for all the complaining all the time. The reason is that Blizzard is always misleading us. Everything they have said about the games development has been wrong on almost all occasions. They never give us a clear answer. If they don't know something, why do they always pretend they do and end up being wrong, they should just stfu and give us an clear and concise answer to the development process when they are 100% sure themselves instead of lying to us all the freaking time! This is what makes this long wait soo much more unbearable.

Playing Diablo 3 for the first time would be like me playing any game for the first time: Slowly and independently, exploring everything I can.

I can swear to you now - it will take me 4+ hours to just get through the beta for my first run-through. =)

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Blizzard wanting to make money. Its just the way they make it.

    - Separating Starcraft 2 into 3 different games instead of 1
    - Using the excuse of shady 3rd person websites for the RMAH (which btw I am a fan of) instead of plainly saying that they want to generate a consistent income from D3
    - Using D3 as a means of making money on WoW and not admitting it.

Like you said, if Blizzard took an honest and clear approach to the way they say these things, there will be a lot less complaining. =)
Are you 100% positive of that statement :P I mean, from what I've learned about human beings in my short life, I feel it would be exactly the opposite, with a ton of comparisons to D2 and to how "Activision corrupted Blizzard".

That may be, but honesty has a greater chance of gaining a positive response than being subtle about responses to questions and/or accusations like these ones. =)

Really, I'm indifferent about how Blizzard approaches there fan-base and market strategies, as long as I get the game I want. =)

Its just I would have more trust and faith in Blizzard rather than question everything new they let out as an instinctive reaction.

You got to admit... this is a bit of a fail on Sam's part.

"We don't care about money... its all for our fans."
I will agree, that is kind of a fail. I mean I'm sure and do believe to an extent that they genuinely enjoy satisfying their fans, maybe because it makes the fans happy, but ALSO because satisfied customers are returning customers. He should have just been up front. Of course, we're a company, we're going to do these things to make money, it's what keeps this business going and making games for the fans.

I just don't see why people see anything wrong in promotions like these. They seem pretty standard to me. What's wrong with Blizzard making money? LOL I wonder sometimes if people expect that this company can run without money...

posted a message on Let's Talk Expansions. =)
So, this is a topic primarily for fun and joy and happiness.

I want to know what you guys would like to see in any expansions of Diablo 3. It could be the first expansion, second expansion, one hundredth expansion or all of them together. =)

    I'll start:

In first expansion of Diablo 3 I would love -

    1. New act (bigger than any previous act)

    2. New class or 2

    3. Seeing as Blizzard want Diablo to be the last boss, it can be that he managed to survive in Act 4, acquires more powers and ends up at the end of Act 5. =)

    4. Increased max level (possibly level 80) with more skills! =)

    5. Additional changes to the first 4 acts; change their aesthetics and story here and there, to make them renewed in a way that would make people really want to play through them again even though it would have probably been done over a hundred times before the next expansion. I want the expansion to bring a real living dynamic feel with it, giving the world of Sanctuary new life in the new act and old ones (change in environments, new monsters, new npcs, new areas, new mini bosses, potentially a new big boss - all in the first 4 acts).

    Your turn. =)

posted a message on Fixed the girly barb
    Quote from Bahamut185

Ok so I was looking through some images and I came across the "nude" fem barb. I looked at her in sections trying to figure out why she was so unattractive when I noticed her proportions were off slightly so i took a crack a shooping her to pretty her up, here are the results.

Shes not going to win any beauty contests but I wouldn't mind receiving "death by snoo snoo" anymore
Not sure if it was on purpose or not but her breasts shouldn't have been that far down

Edit: I might have made them a smidge bigger as well but whos counting

Now this post is all kinds of sexist. What your implying is that since this character isn't "attractive" in the modern sense that she needs to be "fixed up". That is utter BS... so whenever you see an ugly girl in life you immediately judge her for being not good enough. This is oppressing women to being that they all have to be hot, thin and basically like super-models to receive any recognition.

The point is, this female bard is NOT meant to look good... she is suppose to suit her environment, so by being a barbarian, her look is doing that nicely. You don't get hot looking girls fighting the demons of hell - you've watched to many movies.

(Sorry if this was not your intention, but you really need to think before you post this kind of garbage.)

posted a message on Revisiting an artistic direction. (/w questions)
I do not believe the graphics resemble WOW and are perfect for the Diablo universe. This artistic style adds longevity to the game as these graphics allow the game to age gracefully unlike Diablo 2.

Those fan edited screen shots look really stupid and dull, the colour makes the game more varied and pleasing to the eyes.

I believe from what we have all seen from the beta, the game is looking really really good, i'm sure many will agree that now that we have actually seen some direct in-game footage that this argument of kiddy/wow like approach does not stand and in fact is quite opposite to what we are seeing in the beta. In conclusion, these graphics are very satisfactory and I wouldn't want it any other way. =)

posted a message on Prove to me that your God exists.
    Quote from proletaria

    Quote from Umpa

Who said Big Foot doesn't exist? I dono if I believe in Big Foot but I do believe in the Lock Ness monster. Why? There's evidence. However, evidence to me might not be evidence to you.

Belief has nothing to do with evidence, you're mincing terms again. Furthermore, you've got a diffirent definition of evidence than the rest of us. I have seen articles about loch ness being dredged, sonar'd, and drag netted for decades. If all we have to show for that are blurry (and some fake) photos and eye-witness accounts, I don't feel that qualifies as evidence. It is hear-say.

    Quote from Umpa

Personally I like to think more like Dae here. It simply seems more likely that all of this was designed rather than randomly poofing into existence.

I've insisted several times now that "poofing," is not required, but if that's all you can come up with... I suppose I understand why you're making that decision.

    Quote from Umpa

Let me pose a question to you:

You walk into a kitchen and see a cake has splattered all across the floor. Upon further analysis, you realize there are words spelled out from splattered cake, on the floor reading "I fell for you".

What is more likely; the cake fell with the perfect conditions to splatter in such a way that it spelled out those words? Or that someone came along, knocked over the cake, and proceeded to run their fingers through the cake on the floor, to spell out those words.

How is this analogous to the universe? What is it that you are claiming as evidence for a deliberate design insted of an evolved natrual explanation in the case of the universe. I would agree, in the case of the cake, you are describing human interaction with the cake, but I disagree that this is in any way analogous to the universe as we understand it today.

    Quote from Umpa

What are the odds that my existence on this earth is completely by chance? Randomly, everything in the universe worked out so well that, by chance, I simply exist?

We don't know those odds. What we do know; however, is that nothing in the universe would exist as it does without the laws of physics being what they are. This is a zero-sum approach. We're either here or we are not. Evidently we are here and thus we know the universe is such that we can be here. We don't know how "well," it works because we have no point of comparison. There are no other universes we can see to tell us wether or not ours is fine-tuned for life or not.

    Quote from Umpa

Out of all the billions of species on this planet, why is it that only humans were able to evolve to a point of removing ourselves from nature and effectively removing ourselves from anywhere but the top of the foodchain? Why is it just us?

Why is it just us? Because our brains evolved where other animals had not. You can study genetics and neurology to get a better grasp on what made the mammals and the apes diffirent. This isn't indicative of design, it is simply an expression of how evolution has turned out.

    Quote from Umpa

Just got done reading about several near death experiences by blind people who are able to see during the period of death and recall details no blind person would ever know(There's a reasonable explanation, I know, I know!). The nde's are interesting. Dmt could be involved. But the recollection of detail is what gets me.

I'd love to read these, any chance at a link?

    Backing up Proletaria:

Quote 1: There is no such evidence proving the existence of big foot or the lockness monster. Eye witness accounts and fake photographs do not count as evidence as these sources are not entirely accurate and divulge much information that affiliates with the term proof. First off - eye witness accounts differ, thus their is no reliability with them. Photographs are few in number resulting in loss of validity. Thus you have you 3 terms of what is evidence: accuracy, reliability and validity.

(BTW what does this have to do with the topic?)

Quote 2: If you research into quantum mechanics, specifically the applications of quantum chemistry and physics you will understand that atoms share certain forms of "attraction" with other specific atoms when certain amounts of energy accommodate for fusion between different elements, when subjugated between the weak and strong nuclear forces of differing nucleons. My point being that, our sun (stars being the producers of elements of the periodic table, heavier elements requiring higher temperatures), over the 4 billion years that the Earth has been around for, has provided its limited amount of energy to "excite" atoms in a way to produce the structure of our Earth and everything inside it, along with the exact specific amount of elements available from other stars within the universe. This means that this universe was not in fact randomly designed, but created with a set structure resulting from the laws of physics in reference to the Big Bang and the positioning of our solar system. It wasn't random, its known as a fond word scientists like to use called: coincidence.

    Quote 3: WTF?

Quote 4: Refer to quote 2, also your existence in this universe is extremely likely due to the massive scale of the universe and what was said in quote 2.
