posted a message on Will Diablo 3 run better with a SSD?
Any loading screen will probably be slightly faster with a SSD but that's about it. Once the game is loaded no issues. If you hit another loading screen, you might shave an extra second off that but I don't suspect they will be long as is.

    Quote from Hirgie

There are some scenes in the barb/wd gameplay trailer, which makes me absolutely trust in blizzard to catch this feeling of walking deeper and deeper into a nightmare.

For example at 9:11, where you can see the silhouette of siegebreaker walking in the background or at 9:56 where he breaks through the wall and kills one of the archer.

Even though the boss himself is several playtime minutes away, you are awaiting his appearance every second you play. Then you get out of the dungeon and forget about him while slaying some smaller monsters outside. Just as you want to join the next dungeon he suddenly appears.

I mean - wow! Imagine yourself playing that part the first time, not knowing what awaits you. That´s really shocking compared to diablo 2 where even a act boss just stays in his chamber awaiting you. (Ok diablo himself was an exception)

that was awesome what they did showing the boss active and roaming about causing havoc
this really has a nice effect on a boss as big and formidable looking as the siege breaker
almost every other boss in Diablo history you hunted them down and they kinda just waited for you to come in and kill them
so you hunt down the leaders of an army of hell and they'll send big bad demons to hunt you down right back in D3.. i like it :)

posted a message on Idea about D3 future
i agree that adding content on hell only content alienates casual players who only play the game through on normal, they get to kill all the bosses on normal and they are happy with that, they don't feel the need to get strong and competitive characters for that, if you were a casual player why would you buy an expansion if you didn't get to the act it was at because it was hell only?
then the other alternative is screwing with the levels but this will suck royally for anyone who is midway through an act because they will suddenly become say 10 levels behind the monsters and have to grind the content they already beat to catch up
the other bad alternative would be nightmare and hell becoming a cakewalk because you enter a few levels higher and just go around 1 hitting everything
i think its best in the big picture is expansions adding an act and adjusting the levels and adding to the level cap, this way content is still fun and challenging
i know if i get the time to (probably unlikely due to real life), i will have a level 60 of every character before blizzard can claim the expansion is coming out "SOON(TM)" :-)

posted a message on The max level effecting game size?
seems different than D2 scale simply because you should be close to or hit 60 around the time you are beating the game on hell difficulty so the grind of 15 + or - a few levels is out
since we have herd 30 being about the level you will be when you beat normal, 60 being about the level you will be when you beat hell i suspect it will be about level 50 for beating nightmare which would make levels in hell few and far between
i sense this will be rough if your character is struggling and you think he is "underpowered" and needs a level or so to muscle his way through better but this makes the game harder sometimes

posted a message on Do you think they'll be audio-books in D3 like there were in D1?
i liked them, they were fun and gave people like me who did not read the books more access to the lore

posted a message on Replenishing Your Resources
i am glad they have different systems and it seems the mana alternatives can prohibit spamming the most powerful ability without putting everything on a cool down
also, i think it will make it better off in the early game because you wont have to chug mana potions to cast your abilities before your mana pool was large enough
with the descriptions above, i cant help but think that other classes wont benefit as much from resource globes as much as the witch doctor since they'll get their resource back from either fighting or waiting a few seconds

posted a message on Will SWTOR Be a Threat?
I think an MMO can take players away from a game like Diablo 3 but I don't think that they are a direct competitor with D3. SWTOR will probably take more players from WOW but only Blizzard can kill WOW so I don't view it as a serious threat.
