Excellent source, thanks for the info. At first I was very depressed with the "static only" statement until I read into the article further. Seems like Blizzard designed the levels such that a maphack would not really feel so necessary to players but keeps things random and interesting. As you always know how to get to the next area, but traveling along is always different...

Your attempt at pickpocketing was successful!
You receive loot: [Left 4 Dead Level Design]!

Is this still a feature of Diablo III? This has always been one of the most intriguing features of the Diablo series, but Diablo III gets a heavy burden put upon it in regards to this being the first in the series to have shifted to 3d. How will the game being in 3d effect the development or player experience with random levels?

What do you think the difference between the two will be? Looking at the traits it seems like they will have a bigger role that i previously thought. Since they are not a physical damage dealer why will it matter? what do ya think?

It will matter because items will now have +spell damage modifier. Also, a big difference is using a shield or not. I think I plan on trying to go dagger/shield if there are no cool scythe looking weapons.

This has to most certainly be the case. A major Diablo II design concept was the ability for anyone to drop their offensive power (2 hand) and increase their defense via a shield (off hand).

All this proves is that it is possible to obtain items 4x faster in multiplayer than in single player. Nothing more.

I assume you can only have one type of minions at a time, so it's either zombie dogs OR big zombie. That doesn't include things like the zombie bears, because they're no summon, but a spell.

I personally don't think that will be the case. In my opinion the Zombie Dogs will be like the Skeletons and the Gargantuan will be more like a beefed up Golem. If not then I'm going to be kind of disappointed.

I agree, I hope I can have more of a variety. It's one of the main reasons I could never play a summoner Druid in D2 because no "army" was allowed, just one or two pets.

I think Archbishop Lazarus may be making a return?
Hardly possible that this guy is Lazarus....

I'm just basing it off this cain entry (found on diablo3.com), which happens to be talking about Lazarus with a picture of a figure that looks similar to that colored concept art...

It's in the title of this WD forum... soooo, what the hell is it exactly?

and on a more important note, how is it pronounced?!

I know the title is a little weird but basically I'm asking if there's any known info on which types of WD summons can be up at the same time? For exampe, in D2, the necro could have:

    1 golem
    x skeletons
    x skeleton magi
    x revive

whilst the druid, while having 3 different primary summons (wolf, dire wolf, bear), could only have one type of summon up at any given time. You couldn't have a bear and a wolf out.

So for the witch doctor, does the big zombie "replace" the zombie dogs? Or are they not exclusive for a wide variety amongst our army of destruction?

What is the goal for Diablo III's end game?

Diablo II barely had any after you killed hell Baal other than continue to MF for eternity or try the impossible legit grind to 99 (post-1.09). I am curious if Blizzard has any extra content to throw in at max level or I fear I may feel like I'm just playing Diablo II again.

How do you feel you will best experience the game and get the most out of it? I'm thinking I will do Act I five times in a row, creating a new class each time I finish the act, and then continue and do Act II this way. Hopefully I'll have the act fresh enough in my mind to accurately compare each class within the same content.

posted a message on Getting Ready
Greetings all! I've checked this site frequently for updates regarding D3 before but finally fixed up my Curse account to get things rolling! Rumor has it the beta will begin sometime around August 1st which is only a month away, so I'm getting prepped and ready.

I've always been an advocate of Diablo, with the original being my very first online RPG PC game ever. I play(ed) the crap out of Diablo II and I look forward to Diablo III with GREAT anticipation!

Here's hoping for a good beginning!
