please don't hop onto a forum and bash people for something you don't understand

Then don't hop onto a forum and complain that a developer hasn't catered to your mental disorders. You want to be placted at every turn? Create your own game and make your own rules. If you can't handle a few lines of text and a simple image being off limits to you then you should probably seek professional health rather then post on a forum for a video game.

this is only gonna be seen as a reward to a small portion of people: beta participants that don't give a damn about other people

So you are equally against the Reveal site sigils? Since those are exclusive to the launch of Diablo 3. You are against the CE? Because that is exclusive stuff just for the CE. Its a sigil and a Feat of Strength. Why do those matter so much?

Please slow down the tears. My cup runeth over, and I don't want to waste any.

Pretty sad, you already have a signature for it. Get a life please.

I'm more mad at the fact I didn't get a beta invite. But now they reward the people who did, and continue to spit on the people who didn't get an invite. It has nothing to do with the feat of str.

You say one thing, and then you contradict yourself right after that. If it is not about the Feat of Strength then why are you upset that someone gets a reward? Either you are upset at someone getting a Reward or you are not. You can't have it both ways.

And who cares if you didn't get into the beta. Are you going to whine when someone gets a rare or legendary from their first play through and you didn't? When someone did X before blizzard removed it?

I'm honestly surprised by this. People were wanting to keep Overachiever and/or Betamaxed (if only as FoS), and then got told there wouldn't be anything carried over.

As one who participated in the closed beta and earned Overachiever at least twice, I can't complain. I do think that, due to the apparent sensitivity of the subject, Blizzard could and should have communicated better.

Nothing carried over. What more do you want them to clarify and communicate? You can only say nothing in so many ways. The current FoS is a completly different thing then having achievements and characters carry over from Closed Beta.

I'm not the kind of person who feels the need to complete every feat of strength or anything, so I won't try to make a fuss about this. However, I do think it's kind of lame, and I understand why this will be irritating to some. A feat of strength should, in my opinion, be obtainable by everyone who makes a real effort. Getting beta access was pure luck for the vast majority of participants, so it's not really a feat of strength in any way.
But oh well... Grats to those of you who got it, I guess. :)

Blizzard has two types of rewards like this. Achievements and Feats of Strength. Achievements are things anyone can do. Feats of Stregnth are things that only a limited number can do (like attending blizzcon), things out of the game, or things no longer available. Feats aren't meant to be collected and should never be thought of as such.

Maybe I'm biased because I was in closed beta...but why is everyone bent out of shape over some silly Feat of Strength? We're on the precipice of release here people...who cares about this little shit? Let's enjoy the game.

Because everyone feels entilted to everything. The same people complaining about not being able to get a Feat of Strength and Sigil will be complaining when they can't do nightmare, hell, or inferno and get the Sigil and Achievements for those things. They will be complaining when Blizzard has other limited-time Rewards and they didn't get it.

Or they will get such things and say how those that are whining because they didn't get it are cry babies. Its a video game, it means nothing in the end. This sigil and FoS won't give you any advantage in the game at all. It is not unfair for Blizzard to reward people that potentially helped them test the game and mold it into what both parties wanted out of a game. Its not unfair that you didn't get the reward because you didn't get picked.

You can't have everything. Just like I won't be able to have that legendary you got to drop on your first playthrough of Normal. If you are crying over a FoS and Sigil then you better get a box of tissues because you'll definitly be crying over the way Loot is random in the actual game.

    Quote from ElKapitan
Why wait over half a decade for a game only to try to beat it in two weeks?! It's something I don't understand, but if it's what floats your boat, go for it.....

Just because you do it quickly doesn't mean you aren't enjoying the journey as much as someone that does it slowly. Diablo 3 is as much about store as it is face paced hack and slash gameplay. I can see the story and everything and still rush. Do I get less of the experince because I can absorb it quickly?

Do you get more because you take 3 months to do what I can do in two weeks?

posted a message on Easter Eggs
Something just being random doesn't make it an easter egg if its related to the game world and lore. If Warriv wasn't part of Diablo lore already then you'd have a point. Your qualifier for Easter egg status would apply to plent of other objects that don't serve a purpose but still can appear.

Also the journal entry gives you some lore and story on what happened to Warriv.
"I return to Khanduras after twenty years, the burden of countless failures and tragedies heaped upon my shoulders. Am I being punished for helping that stranger hunt the Dark Wanderer? I always thought Deckard Cain half a madman, but perhaps... he was right. Perhaps he can banish the shadow hanging over my life."
Thats not an easter egg its giving atmosphere to the game by letting you see some insight into historical events in the game and what happened to past major characters.

If it is to be called anything it is Fluff/Lore. Useless to the main story and mechanics of the game but provides you some info about the "world" of the game.

By the way the link to The Den of the Fallen is a dead link. The proper link is http://www.diablowik...n_of_the_Fallen, the news post has added a The to the link. And just case you are unaware your battle.net ID is missing the 4 digit numerical portion and won't help anyone adding you as a friend/whatever.

    Quote from Aerisot

The are consider Easter Eggs to Blizzard, they purposely put them in there to make the player go "OMG I remember that!"

Not really. References to past lore isn't an easter egg even by Blizzard standards. And its not the generally held definition of easter eggs in Computer games. http://www.wowpedia.org/Easter_egg are examples of easter eggs blizzard has done in the past.

To reiterate, having the corpse of Warriv isn't an easter egg. Having npc's named after Blizzard works, devs, and GM's/CM's is an easter egg. Having Black Mushrooms around Tristram and related to Adria isn't an easter egg its just Lore. Because you know if they existed in D1 in the area and Adria was interested in them chances are she might still be interested in them.

Continue story and lore to build a more consistent and living world isn't an easter egg. Its just good story telling. Which is shown by the fact Warriv drops a journal that provides in-depth lore. Thats not an easter egg is just lore.

If you consider things like warrivs corpse and Black Mushrooms to be easter eggs then anything that has been referenced or appeared in past games must also be Easter Eggs. Because they have the same qualities of a)Being in a past game/lore and b)Being in D3.

I don't know if I'd really call these things Easter eggs. Things like the corpse of a fallen from a different place is close. But names and places that appeared previously aren't really Easter eggs since its just a continuation of the Lore. Names of GM's appearing as monster names is an Easter Egg.

Having a corpse named warriv isn't one. At least not anymore of one then having a town named Tristram is...

posted a message on You Will Die
While I'm up for the challenge, even more so now then back when I played d2, it did provide some troubling info. Like the remakrs about "died almost instantly to AoE". That isn't really fun. While I'm sure there are ways to counter it via kiting, traps, what not. I just don't think mechanics like that are good for any game.

There is a reason why WoW stopped doing most "instant kills" in ways like that. And its a lesson I think d3 should employ. Though its hard to judge it completly off of just a statement. But it makes it something to watch and hope its not in the most direct meaning of the statement.

I've never seen anyone die in the beta so guess the resurrect every class is gonna be a hard one with normal play lol.

Also if the haunt change is true that is pretty nice. I also hope the beta achievements are merged turned into feats of strength( or not erased) for the live game just so its not a complete waste of time to grind all of them out.

I would say the strategy guide is a pretty accurate guess. When wrath of the lich king was still waiting to be announced I remember viewing the strategy guide at gamestop and it correctly reflected the release date before blizzard announced it.
