i guess maybe after you beat rainbow world you are transported into mad cow world where there is a bunch of cows that make really REALLY strange noises as you walk by. There is no actual monsters to kill, just the sheer sound of their monstrous voices is enough to create gameplay.

then of course once you beat that world you are transported into the'this is sparta' world where every 10 meters is an endless pit where if you fall, your character is removed from the game. Not to mention every monster tries to kick you into the holes.

I think the hardcore players would be pretty satisfied after beating all those worlds.

    My Other:

So there is this quest in inferno called "The Quest Of Inferno"

And in the quest, you have to kill a really hard boss, and the only way to do that is to get a special sword that has been smashed into 10 pieces.

To obtain the special sword you need to get to the end of a 100 level tower. Each level gets exponentially harder and every 10 levels there is a waypoint and a boss which drops a 10th piece of the sword.

Once you kill the boss, he uses his special move to kill you and send your soul to rainbow world. In rainbow world every monster is a rainbow unicorn.

To get out of rainbow world, you need to do the same quest again but this time, instead of the really hard boss, its a giant nyan cat and you have to find the special rainbow shield that has been smashed into 10 pieces.

Only then can you defend from the rainbow beams of devistation and escape rainbow world forever.

(If someone would be so kind as to post this on the bnet forums, that would be great thanks)

thats why you plan your build. Its hardcore mode, your characters are expendible. The fun is in making a build that is good in the end game, but will also GET you to the end game. If you want a system where u can choose your ability and swap it in and out and make no mistakes, then play softcore

I'm talking about having this in hardcore only, did you even read my op?

well no, you can change things with runes, so you may have a build which has a tier 1,3,5,6,6 skill or 2,2,4,5,6. This is not diablo 2.

and also traits would make things work way differently.

not to make it harder, but to make it more fun. I think the older system would be more fun if there were no respects.

Since you have this dynamic relationship between how much points you hoard and how much skills you need to get to not die.

Diablo 3 Hardcore mode idea+No skill points solution

In hardcore mode, not only do you loose your character when you die, but you also unlock hardcore systems.
    These hardcore systems include:
    - Old skillpoint/trait system.
    - No ability to respec.

    Maybe also
    - You can assign attribute points.
    - No town portal and 'chest of sell item'
    - No teleport to character using banner

    Wouldn't this be awesome?
    - You wouldn't be able to hoard points because you need them to get to the end of the game.
    - You can't just progress through all the skills because there is no respec
    - It doesn't matter if a hardcore character is 'over powered' because it will probably die
    - Reason to make lots of characters and replay the game more
    - You can have more complex and annoying system because its designed for more experienced players.

posted a message on How Diablo 3 Could be AWESOME. With 1 simple change.
Currently in diablo 3 you can choose whatever skills you want to equip whenever you want, assuming you have the level to unlock the skill.

So instead of having whirlybarbs and throwazons, we now have rainbowbarbs and donutzons (you don't have specializations, you specialize in everything)

I think this is great to streamline the game and remove a lot of the tediousness required in re rolling a whole new character and finding new items to suit your build.

    HOWEVER

To appease the long time fans, the role players and the hardcore fans I hear by give my advice...
    __________________________________________________________________
    * When you roll a character in hardcore mode, instead of the current system, you get the old system with skill points and traits.

    * Additionally, you cannot respec your character; Once you invest in a skill point, that is it, end of story.

    * Hardcore characters are very 'disposable' and to progress though the game you must choose lower level skills and traits to be able to get to the later portions of the game.

    * You can try and hoard all your points but you will probably die. Sure the system may be a little complex to newcomers, but this is to appease the long time diablo fans. Besides, what kind of noob would roll a hardcore character anyway?

    * With this system at least then we can experience the nostalgia from the original and have the great feeling of progression that diablo should offer.

    * Maybe it will be more work and delay the game, but I would wait another 2 years if this system was available.
