Official Blizzard Quote:
Our developers have decided that bonuses + Magic Find, Gold Find + and + XP but will work differently for groups of players.
These bonuses will be equal for each character in the group and subsidiaries sum bonuses for all players.
The group consists of four players.
In total, their stats are 50% MF, +20% GF and 10% XP, each of these players will have a 12.5% MF, 5% and 2.5% GF XP being in such a group.
Playing with a companion, available for rent, as at present receive 20% bonus to the statistics of type 'adventure' with a bonus companion visible on the panel.
RE: Companions (followers) I did notice the fractional increases in MF and I thought it was bugged at the time. i.e I give him a 12% mf ammy and my MF increases by 2-3.
The demographic on this forum is mostly seasoned players. Veteran types will mostly prefer the old quick and noninvasive UI and I couldn't agree more. I have strong doubts it will ever change though. The new mickey mouse UI will be appealing to new players and that is the largest chunk of the upcoming player base for D3.
You'd think there'd be some formal announcement of this or something because it's a huge deal. Maybe it will be listed in upcoming patch notes. In any event, this is a change that should be made. It simply makes party play more fair and balanced with no real negative repercussions.
I am pretty rigid on this class break down:
barb - male
dh - female
monk - not sure yet
wd - female
wizard - female
Those will likely be my first choice for the respective classes. 4/5 are the default option (as introduced by blizzard). I guess the only one i'm iffy on is the monk because i like both character models. Then again, I probably won't be playing monk anytime soon because i think the class is still underdeveloped - at the very least the monk needs a projectile.
Yep, I also like the new enemies and acts.
The big dude who can block behind his big claw is nice
(during the clone video)
Yea man, that's a really interesting defensive mechanic that we rarely (if ever?) see in Diablo. Makes you wonder about how much gameplay we have yet to experience. I think they've shown us gameplay from the first 3 acts for sure now. I don't think they've revealed anything at all from A4 though. Maybe as more skill videos unlock.
Thanks for posting this CherubDown, I'm glad everyone's enjoying the content. When I first saw the Class Skills post I was pumped to see some new and updated abilities but we got a lot more. The new environments look incredible, it's nice to get a taste of so many different zones. What's everyone's favorite area featured? I like the detailed environment we see during Ray of Frost (4:10). Also the new monsters really surprised me in the best way possible - such creepy creativity going on.
Honestly man, ANY computer you buy over $500 will definitely be able to do everything you need and run D3 on at least med graphics. If it comes with any graphics card whatsover you should be able to handle ultra. I say this because laptop resolution is usually low (versus a 1080p desktop monitor). Just get an i3/i5, 4gb+ ram, and something decent for graphics (ati/nvidia and youre golden).
I think it would make sense to have the same servers for both consoles plus PC clients although integration with B.NET 2.0, Xbox Live, and PS Network, will not be easy. An economy driven game like D3 benefits from having 1 large community as opposed to 3 smaller ones.
It has varied a little bit in the past. For the less impactful patch updates they haven't bothered with a character wipe. However, in the past couple months the patches have been pretty dramatic so they wiped everything during the patch process. Also, they sometimes switch between the gold and RM auction houses from patch to patch. I believe a patch was estimated for this week but it wouldn't surprise me if it got pushed back to next week. :'b
If I begin with a barb I will use the enchantress. If I go Wizard I will use a Templar. The seem like logical compliments in my eyes. Specing a powerful follower is going to be absolutely crucial for inferno and i'm so glad Blizz decided to make them end game viable. =]

The Smith is remarkably similar to The Butcher.. it's blatantly obvious that they modeled him as a successor (albeit not nearly as badass).

But seriously... a barb with all pink gear would look pretty unique I suppose xD
