posted a message on 1.0.8 is Not This Week, Diablo III Hotfixes: April, What if All Legendaries Were Good?, On Gear Customization and Stats
One year and they haven't even gotten such simple aspects of the game fixed. Take a gander at that PoE update history sometime folks, where is even 1/100th of that for D3? Some of you have successfully been led along by words and empty promises for this long, in expectation of what? The *chance* that you'll get to buy an expansion that MIGHT fix the issues? How about PvP?

But we didn't know that until at least 3-4 months into the game, when we started to find the best items and noticed there was no way to find upgrades anymore.
And really, 3-4 months? Were you not around at release? You know when legendaries had no unique stats, when IAS was suddenly nerfed 2 weeks later. It wasn't a matter of finding them, it was a matter of them existing at all.

-Broken skills take months to fix
-TYPOS in a skill description take months to fix

Yeah, blizz isn't full of it, at all.

Jay Wilson and company should take a note from the FF14 team and admit failure, redo everything, and then re-release in hopes of being forgiven. Dozens of band-aids fixes just confirms what the game really is, cash grab.

... so... if they'd done nothing at all with the game after release, that would mean it wasn't a cash-grab?

Then it just would have been a more obvious one. I can't take a game seriously that has a FAN SITE moderated so heavily that I can't even speak outright negatively about the game without being infracted AND have my post deleted. Oh no, I broke the convenient "discussed moderation actions" rule, better infract me again and delete ANOTHER post, no matter if the content in the other 99% of it was actually meaningful.

The game, like these forums, like the official forums, is a complete joke. I don't play it anymore because of the outright bs that was and still is spewed by the devs. Mods can ban me all they like and 1984 my posts along with it, that won't make the game good.

If you enjoy D3, all the power to you. But I implore you to take your valuable time and use it elsewhere. There are better titles out there, better "wastes of time". Take a chance and try one out.

Well, how can they be Game of the Year if they released -last year- ?

If you look at the list more than half of them were released in Q4 2011, with the oldest I believe being GoW3 from Sep 2011. Makes zero sense, media controlled by devs, you can do whatever you want.

Diablo III is up for Game of the Year from GameMaster's Golden Joystick Awards.

I was going to make some comment like "If this wins, my faith in the gaming industry is officially dead", but I already read the original reviews of this game.

Offline mode = No warden/server authentication = hacks (not exploits or botting only) and cracks = destroyed GAH economy (dupes, items created by commands or cheats, etc) = No RMAH = No profit to me from RMAH/GAH for flipping 1d12h items = No fun = stupid and noob game :)

And there lies the problem with today's playerbase. I want to have fun in a game, be challenged by actual well thought mechanics, and be rewarded with well thought of itemization.

Instead its a game where "fun" is directly (and purposely) correlated around the amount of profit that can be turned.

I'd gladly lose the $200 (-$60 box cost) I made on the RMAH for a good Diablo sequel.

posted a message on Interviews with Mike Morhaime and Rob Pardo, Wizard Guide, and Curse Survey
Diablo 3 sold very well but received mixed reception at release because of various problems.
-Goes on to comment on the server/login issues but nothing about the game itself.
-"Sales forecasts were off by an order of magnitude" on a game with millions of pre-orders and digital sales.

And earlier in the year you tore the guts out of the stats system. As an RPG designer I realise how difficult that is. Did that all make it harder to get the Diablo III launch out? Mike Morhaime: I felt like we gave ourselves enough time in terms of the things we could test and the things that were feasible to test.

-Design an RPG but don't have the core mechanics figured out?
-Didn't actually test major mechanics (attack speed anyone?)

You've announced you're working on Titan at the same time as you're working on other projects. Is that a strain on resources? Mike Morhaime: We always have to manage multiple projects and various resources; it's just something we've always had to do.

Gee wonder which one got more attention. Game that looks basically untouched compared to 2008 videos...or unreleased game that...used the former as:
a big experiment and it is something that I think has done really well in some ways and in some ways has really changed the game a lot

    /cynicalgamer

Personally, I hope they learned that fan's opinion isn't always to be trusted,
The vast majority of fans opinion was about 1/10th of the game. Which also happened to completely unrepresentative of the "end-game", not only in terms of difficulty but also in virtually every other aspect (itemization, balance, fun, polish of zones, actual content, storyline, I can go on)

posted a message on The "i told ya so" thread
A couple months before release, I made a thread called the "i told ya so" thread. It was a place to put predictions for release, and as I remember, had well over 20 pages of people making their own predictions. The idea was that as long as you didn't edit it (which is visible under the post), people could come back to it and say "I told ya so".

Apparently this thread was deleted, and trying to use the various "internet archive" pages out there has yielded me no results. Does anyone know what happened to it?

After all this time ? I would sue them for psychical pain.

    What is psychical pain?
    Google it ?

Good try, but I think the post was a major spelling fail. Most people use psychological, rather than psychical which would be more closely related to paranormal activities. http://www.thefreedictionary.com/psychical

posted a message on What will happen to inferno gear after the first expansion?
Skill/Stats will get altered such that the old top end gear will no longer be as valuable.

They will probably do a combination of nerfing old stuff, changing the way certain mechanics work (to devalue old gear), and also adding stuff with higher/better stats. It'll be exactly how they "balance" wow every expansion, by completely breaking the old stuff.

I quit playing MMOs because of this “Make friends or you can’t have the best gear!” mentality.

Why would you ever START playing MMO's in the first place then? Seriously, get the fuck out. You joined a MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER online game and expected to be able to get all the good stuff solo ? Are you completely retarded ?
