    Thanks gnarf.

What is a viable build for 2h with a budget of 200 million? Also, what MP can you handle with that gear?

    Is 2h viable with WW?
Does IK's crusher compare at all to skorn?

    Thanks.

It feels like I do 2 to 3 times my old damage, and in low MP diff, the mobs hit me for jack. Of course I'm a moron who has 65k hp 600+ resist all, 800 life on hit and +10k random health from globes (70k dps), but hey!

That and decent items actually drop, even for me.

    Quote from Jaetch

I guess you can use mine as a long-term goal. Bear in mind that I've played consistently since launch.

Looking at your all's characters makes me want to cry for two reasons.

1)The sheer awesomeness of how it must feel to have damage like that and
2)The daunting process I would have to undergo to even slightly scratch the surface of a single piece of said gear.

I assume you'd use archery once geared in place of brooding for damage or numbing traps for a basically screen-wide -20% incomming damage (sentry, caltrops, AND spike all trigger the effect), and I assume sentry doesn't work with night stalker if it doesn't work with LoH, this does look cool indeed.

When I read the patch notes, sentry stuck out to me as well. Not only does it and the damage rune increase in effectiveness by almost 220% (320% of original value) a piece, it picks up all kinds of synergy from the remodled passives. I'm now looking at two builds with a few possible variances. One is basically the build you listed, maybe with some minor deviation, and the other is: http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/demon-hunter#WRlgSV!aeY!ZacYbb , which I may have to make additional deviations from IF different types of stuns/snares share diminishing returns, etc, such as http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/demon-hunter#WRdgSV!aeY!ZaYYbb or http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/demon-hunter#WRdgSV!aeY!YaYYbb.

    I don't know what you're talking about.

-Aren't they nerfing the base-line damage of monsters by 25%? (and in turn, reducing the damage reduction from abilities which you don't/can't yet even use?)
-They are buffing slow in inferno, as well as crowd control, as well as many crowd control abilities see: Thrill of the hunt, numbing traps(with use of sentry/grenades) while buffing other skills that have synergy with said skills...
-Making high level monsters spawn high level affixes (consistently) on items and
-Doubling the drop rate of legendaries and
-Increasing the effectiveness (works on resplendent chests) and ease of collection of the Nephalem Valor buff (from chests/major completed events)... put together mean that on a difficulty as low as monster player level 1 (I BELIEVE), you can roll high level items/affixes by clearing just about any part of inferno on any act...

This patch should be the best thing that ever happened to you, I would think.

Does spray of teeth (also) hit the original target? Crushing random normal mobs is easy enough, it's some of the elites in act 4 that still hit me pretty hard, which was why I was thinking life on hit at the time.

    Thanks your post was helpful.

I've been doing other things, but I'm back now (yay) and I'm playing on all of my characters, though mainly on my demon hunter. It only has 61k dps,51k hp, ~550 resist all, 38 disc (1 p/s), 5.3 hatred regen. I only have a million gold. Nothing drops.

-My first impression was... Nether tentacles doesn't appear to hit targets more than one time any more, even massive hit box targets. It seems like it could still be good with enough damage+ damage reduction (for the life leech). If this is indeed the case, what have you found to be a good hatred dump? I'm taking some looks at frozen arrow for the snare to kite, or ball lightning chakram for damage (if it still hits multiple times...). Looking at razor and twin chakrams for damage also.

    -Trail of cinders vault???
Lots of damage. Might it be worth it to drop nether tentacles and smoke screen for a higher damage skill and vault? Just a thought. I don't think I can pull off a gloom build very well.

Seems like crossbows can get higher damage than bows. Doesn't that mean crossbows will generally out damage bows also? I like attacking fairly quick, though, to maneuver.

Ultimately before I stopped playing I was envisioning a tanky build with a lot of resist all, life on hit/life leech using a bow. I'm still kinda aiming for that idea, but I'm curious what else is out there.

If this is redundant, or random, and (definitely is) old, you'll just have to forgive me. I'm a busy man with things to do just like yourselves :).

We all spent tons of time and effort getting attack speed early on, for blizzard to semi randomly decide the solution was to, one patch day, cut the effectiveness of the entire stat in half.

I really wouldn't be surprised by anything, nor do I really care at this point.

The funny thing is, I was actually investing into more tankish items on my way out, and now not only does my demon hit like a sissy, she still dies almost as quickly as she used to anyways. Random normal white mobs hit me for 60k damage when I have two sources of over 50% DR, a solid 15 thousand more than I have life.

It's not like I can't regear and out-tank the content, that's aside from the point.

The point is I can't invest time into something like diablo 3 where, if you're onto something good, it will get nerfed into the ground. It's not the player's fault activision released an untested, unpolished game. People were calling out the likely possibility of the (quite terrible btw) plot years ago, they should have increased the beta to at least encompass more of the skills for starters.

How many times are people going to invest in a set of gear for a particular stat or build idea to have all the time and effort they spent ripped out from under their feet before the game is made to their "liking", or in other words, so that they can make good money off the RMAH. It's rmah and bots that have crashed the price of gold as quickly as it has plummeted, inferno is hardly different from before, and sure there are more people in it, but that should have created both a higher demand, not just supply. Near-perfect items don't just drop out of the sky every moment.

I've been quite ticked off about the terrible concept of inferno from the get-go, even while crushing through it on various characters. It's 99.9% gear based. There is so little skill required. You get your build, equip your items and depending on your item quality you either do or don't have the ability to clear various areas. What a stupid concept. Grind. So you can grind. So you can grind.

What's the fucking point. I hate to say it but even wow's end game system is far superior to what I'm looking at now for d3, not that I'd ever touch wow again.

I'm about ready to just be finished with the game.

    1) I don't know why I bother farming, what's the point. Even when the pvp is installed it's just going to be a joke.
2)After buying the collectors edition and playing religiously for hundreds of hours on multiple characters, and gearing them up the ways in which made most sense, I log on after a few weeks absence having been busy with life to find my item values slashed, my characters left feeling half as effective, and the value of gold being way down, very much inflated within such a short period of time.

In the past I was an avid supporter of anything blizzard... Blizzard however has failed dealing with bots. They've wasted hundreds of hours of my precious time. They've failed to understand what "end game" really IS, and they've gone back against their word.

"we want players to make overpowered builds and find overpowered items". What a freaking joke that was, what an incredible lie. Anything that is remotely "overpowered" gets nerfed the moment blizzard gets their little stat sheet for how the players are manipulating the game they made. "we don't want players to feel like strong builds will get the nerf bat" my ass.

I am extremely fucking pissed. I also have a 60 barb with some decent items, but my demon hunter feels like a heaping pile of shit right now in comparison to a few weeks ago. I have better things to do with my time than spend hundreds of friggen hours playing a mother fucking game no less, only for all my "progress" to be turned on its head upside down in an instant.

I expected more. I am disappointed and I will only be logging back into d3 sparingly when there is absolutely nothing else to do.

That's true. If you die in one hit hungering is possibly your go-to snipe skill for ranged mob hunting. Spearmen don't scare me that much anymore.
