"We've been working on something incredible for quite some time that we've all been dying (pun mostly intended) to share with you all." - Nevalistis, blizzcon 2016

See this is why most of us get pissed off. It's like we're in the twilight zone where 'the forges are hot here at blizzard' equals a phone game, and working on 'something incredible for QUITE SOME TIME' equals a 15$ class.

Rofl, how can some people interpret the bolded text above as not related to D4? What are you hyping with such a video? D2HD and new D3 hero? Why release a video at ALL then? I am starting to think in the direction something came up suddenly and the D4 reveal at Blizzcon 2018 was canceled, but why not announce this BEFORE the Blizzcon map release where Diablo is next to the big stage? Really nothing makes sense atm. And when nothing makes sense in general - there has to be a LIE somewhere. Maybe the last blog post is created to mislead us? But this then would be an awful marketing. What a puzzle this guys made. I am completely lost. It's good the answer will come soonNOTM.

They needed to sell them blizzcon tickets. They know FULL WELL what they were doing. You can't say shit like "The forges here at Blizzard are burning hot, and we have multiple Diablo projects in the works. Some of them are going to take longer than others, but we may have some things to show you later this year." With a smile, and then be confused when people are like 'oh freaking FINALLY a reveal!'.

Their line in the newest post "We know what many of you are hoping for and we can only say that “good things come to those who wait...” could very well be talking about D4. What made my eye twitch though is that it's paiiiiinfully obvious they COULD do a D4 reveal, but they're choosing to play with D3 on the switch instead.

Edit; And if Blizzard rolls out a mobile game, then they've completely lost touch. Might as well make a BR mode while they're at it.

The fact that Blizzard is so god damned scared to talk about ANYTHING related to a 'diablo 4' is fucking frustrating. Wow Blizz, yea D3 on switch so god forbid you talk about anything else otherwise zomg less sales right? If they've been working on a D4 for years, as has been speculated, then they absolutely COULD have done an announcement this Blizzcon.

Brevik is right, Blizzard is being consumed by activision. They're more worried about some god damned switch sales of D3 then they are letting us know diablo isn't dead.

I'm so done being disappointed in Blizzard.

This has already been disproven a couple times. He isn't tapped for Diablo, from Blizzard, it's a show with the word Diablo in it.

No one doubts about D2 HD at this point - this is coming. The big question is D4. Our best indication about it will be the Blizzcon schedule, which usually releases in early October, so roughly a month from now.

If Diablo does NOT open the Blizzcon ceremony we'll get D2 HD and some D3 stuff probably. Chance for D4 announce is very slim.

If Diablo opens Blizzcon ceremony we get D4 reveal 100%. D2 HD will follow it and probably no D3 stuff besides Themes talks.

I invite you to watch David Breviks' interview on the subject of a D2 remaster, and the absolutely colossal amount of work it would take. The chances of a D2 remaster are so incredibly slim simply because they would have to re create the entire game from scratch.

Hopefully something about D4 at Blizzcon, except that they just launched D3 on Switch. And yes, that DOES play into when they'll announce D4. There's a reason why they haven't actually confirmed anything at all yet - they want more sales. And if they think announcing a D4 at Blizzcon will hurt switch sales, they'll absolutely hold off.

posted a message on D4 classes

One of the absolute biggest reasons why a lot of people consider D3 a failure is because they decided to take everything from Diablo 2, and do the reverse. And the classes weren't spared. I mean hell, they originally wanted D3's Barbarian to be a, uh, idk I forget the name but it was along the lines of a Savage or something, before they realized it was so obviously the barb they had to change his name back. And how many of you would have liked to just see the Nerco in the first place, instead of the Witch Doctor?

Diablo 4 would need to, in my opinion, go back to their main classes at least; Nerco, Amazon, Barbarian, Paladin, Sorceress. However, like I've said before, Blizzard has a lot of work ahead of them. They can't release an empty game like they did with D3, and plan to add in actual end-game later. There would need to be more classes as well, and I'd personally pick at least the Druid, and I've love to see the Sin again. But I also think the Monk is unique enough to still fit alongside the rest. Essentially my vote is for the D2 LoD roster as a bare minimum.

Unquestionably. I get tired of the "Diablo is dead" trolls when they cannot take the time and look and see for themselves that something is clearly in the pipeline...
    https://careers.blizzard.com/en-us/openings/oDSe5fwy

And I get tired when people's only defense is calling others a troll, while they themselves don't reply with anything of substance.
Diablo 3 is absolutely dead, and considering it's the latest game, it's fair to say that right now, Diablo is dead. Hopefully if there's a D4 it gets revived.
A lot of the frustration that you see from me and others, is with Blizzard themselves. From the outside looking in, they've turned far too corporate. Years and years ago, they were able to get away with not giving any information, and taking an agonizingly long time with everything they did. That time is over now, and not only do the players know that, MANY of their key people do as well, hence why we keep seeing top management jumping ship. And not even jumping ship in the sense of going straight over to another company, they start there own!
If Blizzard IS working on something else, they need to speak up. It's borderline insulting to not JUST get nothing in terms of news, but to have to deduce it ourselves such as Blizzcon, again, not having anything Diablo related. And while I'm not yet close to 50 as Ulthrakk is, I can say I feel the same way; Blizzard needs to accelerate.
    And @ LTR; I only said I wouldn't really be excited at D4 news as a defense mechanism, because I most likely know how it'l go down;
    *D4 is (hopefully) announced
    *D4 releases around... 2020. Maybe.
*D4 has extremely limited content, with the promise of an expansion down the road.
*The first expansion comes out in... 2022. Maybe.
*And Blizzard has learned nothing from their giant pendulum swing of D3, and D4's endgame consists of timed (!) rift style content that doesn't have any real loot hunt in it, because you're giving all your loot at the start of the f@#$ing season... which of course it won't launch with seasons, that'l be another feature added a year later.
I WANT to be excited, but it's like Blizzard has grown far too gigantic for their own good. One move takes a million parts to turn, and they're so scared of making a mistake they instead do nothing, which is worse.
Rant over. I'll probably check this site again in a week when I'm bored, and the top 4 threads will still have a reply from a week ago on the front page.

*quick edit*; DiabloFans, your forum post editor is complete garbage.

I also come back once in a great while to see if anything is stirring.

I'm willing to bet there's never going to be another actual meaningful update to Diablo 3 again. Of course I hope I'm wrong, but the writing's on the wall man.

Literally all it takes is to look at Path of Exile, and you know that D3 lost, a long time ago. It it absolutely MINDBLOWING how GGG from PoE can not only continue to deliver NEW content every couple of months, but how they are actually willing to change / add / tweak existing content right after it's release. When's the last time you've seen something from Blizzard that was borked, and they changed it quick? Blizzard has drowned themselves in too much red tape. Look how long it took to get the Necro.

Hell, at this point if Blizzard DID do a Diablo 4 reveal, there's no way I could get excited. It would release with minimal content, and it would take YEARS to get more.

Poe is better here, Poe is better there,...
Yet u are on a Diablo forum.
Did you forget to read the first sentence in my post?
Either way, yes I still check here once in awhile. I DID spend a couple thousand hours on Diablo 3 since closed beta after all. But yes, PoE is better. Diablo 3 is bad and Blizzard should feel bad.

posted a message on D3 duration and price

Path of exile is absolutely better than Diablo 3 in every single area that counts.

To your question OP; Yes, D3 is finish the campaign, then do nearly the exact same content while slightly upping the difficulty by a few % (greater rifts).

    Actually, if you want a quick rundown;

Farm one area until level 70 with massacre bonuses.

Craft armor and weapons because who needs to rely on item drops in an ARPG.

Immediately skip a couple of the 17 difficulties and put it on T1 because then sets can drop.

Now stand in town and do regular rifts or bounties.

Spend a couple hours at most doing the Season Journey and then get handed your 6p set.

Upgrade rare weapons that you craft and get your sets' mandatory unique weapon.

Now skip even more difficulty levels and move on to T6.

Now do greater rifts until you run out of stones, then do regular rifts.

And now, because a game that's supposed to be around hunting loot instead just hands you everything, the only thing of worth is trying for leaderboards. So get ready to use 1 set for your class that's far better than the others, and have no choice in items because there's multiple mandatory legendaries that your set requires.

But don't worry, having all the items drop all the time just means you get to hunt for the same pieces with just slightly higher stats!

You see, THIS is what crafting should have been in D3, not this bullshit targeted upgrade rare > legendary of that same type.
