posted a message on Still confused on Weapon based caster
The major difference between mages and weapon characters is one relies more on skill damage, and the other on weapon damage. Mages have better early game and can help teams whilst weapon based characters are more gear dependant, and require the help of friends.

Of course, if Blizzard wants Diablo to be teambased, i approve.

Yet this also means the wizard is essentially VERY similar to the Demon Hunter, with slightly different utility and cosmetics.

    Problems:
    1) Character's core differences removed
    2) Major game mechanic removed
    3) Less variety
    4) More dependance on gear. Damn me if i need to spend money in the auction house to have a chance in pvp with a wizard
    5) I'll think of more :D

    WHY BLIZZARD WHY?!!!!!!!!

runestones are going to be hell to balance, you know 30 kills for 5 classes, each with 5 stones with 7 levels of progression, thats 30X5X5X7= 5250 skills/similar skills to balance. I wish blizzard goodluck

i reckon it would be cool instead of naming runes just as 'lesser, greater' etc they could call it,
symbol, glyph, seal, mark, Quint. rune

edit: actually thats too hard to understand crap idea nvm

but the runeword system only sucked because they were designed OP. Enigma/CoH were mistakes doubt
if you look at mods like MedianX however, they have been integrated to fill in the 'gaps' in gear choices. The uniques arestill better than runewords
And uniques> runewords if the game designers wanted to

All skills are now based off weapon damage

Blizzard reason for this; So caster classes actually need a good weapon.
I partially agree with this. I have often thought that caster's should gain bonuses from weapons. I.e a wizard with a staff should be able to channel more magic and do more damage etc.

However, this also results imo more boring gameplay.
Builds and classes need to be diversified, and one of the main differences between mages and warriors is not the fact that one is ranged, and other melee, but because mages do not scale of weapons. That is what sets them apart.

Mages should have pre-set damage based on skill level, so to make them different.
The trade off is; mages scale worse with gear, but better with level
Warriors scale better with gear but worse with levels.
And this difference should be kept

posted a message on Do you miss runewords?
It's a shame blizzard removed runewords. They would work perfectly well in game
All they have to do is rename current runes to something like 'glyph' or 'seal' or 'quintessense' etc
runewords added items to that game to for characters
in the ideal game for every character there are items which would suit it. diablo 2 lacked this, with almost all the uniques useless. Runewords helped counter this.

And they could bechanged to function in stead like this:
Each runeword contains only one rune, but you can fill up the sockets before the rune with jewels. To make a runeword in an item with 4 sockets, for example, you need to insert 3 jewels + 1 rune.

Apparently tathamet had 7 heads, with andariel one of them. This however nosent make much sense.
Andariel is mephistos grandaughter, and apparently andariel was born AFTER the high heavens and hell formed, when inarisu and lilith had relations.

    What the hell

Also, tathamet as evil gives trangoul a pretty bad name :)
