I just confirmed with 2 accounts that you dc in combat if your not active now. Seems they stealth nerfed it.
You sure? The bots are getting on my nerves.

I would be very glad, if I wouldn't loose my NV-stacks just to check the AH (and resume my origin game after that).

Currently I'm "bound" to it for the whole evening (or at least 1-3 hours depending from which quest point you start) and have no way to gather my AH-earnings or put this new found VERY nice ring to the AH or to check the prices for something that someone wants to sell via the common chat.

Of course it would be ok to add an AH-NPC to every act if this is easier ...
I agree... I have a hard time getting to sit myself to play Diablo 3, for I know I have to be "locked for 1-3 hours to be somewhat effective in having a chance of an item upgrade dropping for me.

Indeed, you're "locked" the whole evening if you want to do some progress, wich kind of beats the whole "many checkpoints" thing.

All in all, seems he wasn't really trying, for how he says it.

I'm still unsure about the Paragon System...

The AH is now a hell to browse through, everything is overpriced...

IMHO, I think striking the sweep spot of easy vs hard is almost impossible, as it varies from person to person.

True, there's going to be a wide skill variance in any game. Ultimately not everyone is going to be happy so they'll try to make as many people happy as they can, as that'll bring in the most cash.
Indeed. Though those who already own the game already paid. But if players get more and better items easier, they'll probably use the AH more. So yeah, keep most of 'em happy, and they'll keep playing (and paying).

What in the, I don't even.

Leveling to 99 is not "end-game." It's simply another grind. Stop using that word. It does not mean what you think it means.

Diablo 2 didn't have a sub, either, and they released content patches for that. Do you even think before you post?
Calm down, no need to answer like that.

I said "endgame", but it's clear it's a grind, as you just said. Indeed, Diablo 2's grind, in my opinion, took longer. What I'm saying is that Diablo 2 didn't have and endgame either, and I agreed with the poster that said taht we can't have raids or such here.

Diablo 2's "content" patches came further down the line (I think after the expansion, but I might be wrong), I don't think a Diablo 2 content patch was released 3-4 months after the game was released.

Do you even think before you bash other people? We're all on the same side here.

But nerfing monsters and buffing skills/items/MF will just make the game too easy, isn't it?

Let's just hope this patch hits soon... like before Sept 18th. I got Borderlands 2 and then MoP to play at the end of September.
You an me both! It seems it will come at the end of August... but who knows.

This is all Diablo 2 was. And Diablo. And Titan's Quest. And Torchlight. And Borderlands (which, despite being an FPS, is an ARPG too). And DarkSpore.

What do you want? Raid content like an MMO? I think you don't understand how the genre works...
You're right. Thing is, it took longer to get to Diablo 2's "level 99" cap, so that's why I think the endgame seemed longer in Diablo 2.
Indeed, Titan Quest, Borderlands and such face the same thing in the endgame, although Torchlight has the "infinity dungeon" thing, but it's kinda the same, really.

I hope that, in the future, they release content patches. But I doubt it, it's not sub-based, so I don't think they've got the funds to develop new dungeons and bosses along the line, before the expansion comes out.

And on a final note - blizz actually listened to all the major concerns players had. Much respect blizz.
That's true, and it's both amazing and reassuring.

I only hope they don't go too far, sometimes you have to know when to stop listening to feedback. Truth be told, I hope the patch comes soon. It looks like it's still a month or so away, given the wording.

Many players say that Diablo II had more "endgame" content, but most fail to see that much of it happened after Lord of Destruction.

    Nevertheless, I ask:

What is the difference between Diablo II's release-day-endgame and Diablo III's?

    39 more levels?

Inconsequential point. Experience levels barely restricted you to gear above level what.... 60-70?

The 5 stat points (meh), and 1 skill point (different system now) was all you got. And really, not THAT big a deal. So 1 skill got slightly stronger each level... ooo... ahhh.... not impressed. Numerical value on "levels" is pointless.

Hell, you could clear Hell difficulty of Diablo 2 at like level 60 or so. So, those last levels were just a grind... ESPECIALLY Level 99, who's total XP was equal to the total XP from 1-98. Not what I would call stellar end-game content, by any measure.
I agree. And that's the point, before, in Diablo 2, it was just a grind to get the "60" to "99".

That's what "we" are so desperate about? I'll take Diablo 3's endgame any day, at least I can get that NV thing and other stuff. Not to mention the things they've got prepared.

What I'm saying is that the same thing that hooked up players before, 11 years ago, isn't the same as now. People changed, all the guys who played Diablo 2 in that time are 9-11 years older, what they like changed too.
Really, I don't know. It seems many expected some kind of MMO out of it, with constant patches.

Of course Diablo 3 had to be differente. More of the same wouldn't have cut it either. Nowadays it's pretty hard to get people playing a game except in a competitive matter...

I'm tired of them nerfing everything and buffing nearly nothing. A lot of abilities aren't skipped because one is OP, but rather because a lot of the options are TERRIBLE. Nerf stuff only if you're also including buffs. Blizzard has done nothing but kick viable skills in the junk w/o providing buffs for the bad ones. It's extremely unfun. Blizzard doesn't plan on improving diversity until post-1.0.3. They've said it in the past a few times. So basically your builds are just going to get weaker until then. There's nothing to "try out". You should already know, understand, and comprehend the effectiveness of all of your skills. Being forced to pick the ones you didn't want to pick before doesn't make the game more interesting; except in the cases where some abilities were just plain stupid broken and forced you to use up a slot. Nether tentacles were not one of these cases since pretty much all other hatred abilities are horribly overcosted (compared to just using hated generators).

    --

Destructible stuff should still drop items imo. If Blizzard found the effort to item drop rate was too high they could have always nerfed the drop rate. Then if someone seriously is so bad they would rather spend 5x as more time farming destructables instead of mobs, just let them...it's not like it's efficient. Perhaps this was for hardcore mode, though, since being safer is infinitely more important there, farming barrels/jars might have previously been the best way to gear up (which is boring, obviously).
They buffed drop chances, now higher ilvls will drop from lower monster, the decreased Inferno damage in Act II, III and IV, and other things.
Yes, they "nerfed" that skill (it was probably a bug), but they buffed other things. Let's not be that harsh.

Remember the class balance patch is still in the works.

I do think Nether Tentacles forced you to choose it (see all the builds using it?) that is not diversity.
