Do you think someone is going to pay a lot for something that might possibly suck? I'd rather buy something I know the stats for.

People buy/sell unid'd items all the time.

posted a message on What primary to use with a slow 2-hander VQ build.
    Quote from TheDFO

So, For awhile now I've been rocking the VQ build, because that lets you cast the Zombie Bears and Direbats at a reasonable rate without awesome gear. I recently managed to get a two-handed hammer that finally let my WD break into the 10k dps level (yes, I don't have great gear, even for Inferno Act 1). Anyway, as I'm not going to spend money on the RMAH, and I don't have that much gold (as this is my primary character), I probably won't be upgrading this for a decent amount of time.

That said, while a slow attack speed works wonders with a ZB build, it's not much fun with splinters. Does anyone have suggestions for another primary skill to use? Preferably something that is low cost and somewhat kitable.

Aside from Bears, the only other decent primary ability is Dire Bats. Plague of Toads/Rain of Toads and Acid Cloud/Acid Raid would also work well, especially with the Bad Medicine passive

posted a message on Unscheduled scheduled maintenance?
Let's see, I saw it on the website, the Breaking News section before I logged into the game this morning (yes, it was there), and on their Twitter feed. If I followed them on Facebook I probably could have found it there, and then as someone else mentioned a quick Google search also yields the info. Not to mention the fact that Tuesday has been Blizzard's maintenance day for years now.

It's at the point now that you have to go out of your way NOT to know maintenance is going to happen.

200 packs no lvl51-55 blue/rare, then suddently full of those, i'm sure it's random....

I saw plenty of 51-55 items falling from all sorts of mobs in Act 1-4 of Inferno prior to the patch and have seen them since.

    Use your brain

    Indeed...

posted a message on How much does it take for Life Steal to top Life per hit?
    Quote from PeaceMaker2008

I have 6 % life steal, which brings me to a total of 1.2 % true, after the diminishing returns.
    I also have 48 % CH chance and 300 % ch damage.
Keeping that in mind I hit 50-100 k damage on regular hits with normal attacks. 100-200 k with revenge and another 100 k with overpower.
I have 0 life on hit.
Long story short, with the right stats Life Steal > Life on Hit, simple as that..

Which amounts to a whole 2400 IF you crit. You could easily get more health if you decided to go with Life on Hit items. As of now, Life on Hit is better and will be for quite some time.

About the +exp is not valid for 61 items...

He was talking about rares I think, which he is correct. It is not possible for +exp on kill to roll on an iLvl 61 or higher rare item.

No one specifically said what kind of item it was. For all we know, the original statement could have been about a legendary item. The fact remains that based upon the posts made, those saying +experience doesn't exist on ilev61+ items were wrong. It's too bad most were jerks about it. Instead of apologies, I'm guessing we'll see some backtracking in the form of "no I was talking about rares, duh".

    Quote from Tobby

This does not work. We tried it today and at level 43 he was getting 6k xp per quest turn in. Its extremley slow and not working well. Maybe it works for you at your low level but its slower than anything at level 43 (Nightmare btw)

You need to stay in Normal mode until 50 then to Hell for the last 10 levels. For some reason NM gives poor xp. I didn't watch the video, but this will only work with two toons...the carrier and the leveler.

Crit is better per point! Crit chance value is going up as you gain crit damage and crit damage value goes up as you gain crit chance, so at start IAS gear will look more appealing when you first start stacking crit, but when you get 30+ crit chance and 200+ crit damage numbers skyrocket to the roof. I don't say that IAS should not be considered but the more crit stats you get, the more deeps you get. At start 1 crit chance was valued at 11 int and crit damage at 1 int while IAS was 12. Now with 37% crit chance and 250% crit damage each crit chance is worth 26 int and crit damage 4 int while IAS stayed at 12.

Again, Crit isn't always better per point, nor is IAS. It's entirely dependent upon one's gear. Crit is better for you, IAS is better for me.

Your avatar fits you perfectly.. lol

What's THAT supposed to mean?!?!? :)

Just wanted to add a thanks and note to solve the high bandwidth issue, if people can get in, you can hit FILE, and "make a copy" and it puts it in your own personal google docs.

Has the IAS nerf from 1.03 been addressed in this spreadsheet? I am assuming not since the last post is before the patch....

The only thing different with IAS is there is now less of it on gear. How it affects your dps is still the same.

    3. Unique monsters in Hell and Inferno difficulty are no longer guaranteed to drop two Magic items when slain

Well there goes sarkoth/festering woods dungeons/any dungeon with guaranteed rare monster...sigh they nerfed the easy farm spots...not super suprising, but now all the bots gotta find other spots i guess.

No one farms uniques for Magic items. Unless they cut down on how much gold Sarkoth drops or how frequently you can find him, it's still going to be a prime farming location

The one thing I'm disappointed in is that they aren't fixing the IAS on existing legendary items yet.

posted a message on Can someone splain the IAS Nerf to me?
    Quote from Benegesserit

People had to stack IAS because Blizzard screwed up on Inferno Act2+ so bad that it was our only option. Thankfully this nerf hits the same time as the inferno nerf so we'll see if it's going to prevent people with lots of IAS from progressing w/o having to refarm new sets.

What? Inferno Act 2 and beyond is fine. They are nerfing IAS because it's usually the best stat for everyone so people were forgoing other items/stats for it. IAS will still be good but the decision to stack it will be more difficult.
