Because this game is Diablo 2.5 amirite?
Way to go to show what you really wanted, a rehashed Diablo 2

That's what most of us wanted, wtf is wrong with you lol.
I would put this game in the trash if I could have D2 in this new engine instead.

No, thats not what most of us wanted. D2 is damn old game which was good at its time but not so much anymore. While you and your friends still playing d2 think everyone wants the same old cripe with baalruns and whatnot this is clearly not what most people want. This is 2012 and not 2000.
It IS what we wanted, us Diablo2 fans.
What you are your WoW friends want does not apply to Diablo.
Wanna play a dumbed down game ? Go back to WoW.

No it isn't. I've played plenty of Diablo and Diablo 2 to know that I did NOT want that. I'm sure there are many more that agree.

Warcraft has nothing to do with this....at all.

Neither D3 nor Warcraft has been "dumbed down".

I'll be happy when the whiners leave the game so the real fans can play in peace.

Whiners? Do you mean competent people that are dedicated to Diablo but actually have a brain? The hype of the game was about a million times bigger than the actual game. The game is easy to beat, in any difficulty. It is horrid when a normal item can out last all items until hell and there is a huge list of other problems with the game. If you cannot see any of it you are just blinded or ignorant.

Competent doesn't mean what you think it means....

I'm not sure what to make of the rest of your post.... people aren't claiming that the game is easy....because it isn't. The topic of this thread is that it's too hard for a few people and they want the game nurfed. Then this claim about a normal item outlasting everything until hell is just absurd. You'd be hard-pressed to find anyone that agrees with you, primarily because your claims simply are not true. I can't help but wonder how much of the game you really have played.

I've logged about 12 hours, and am just now getting to the end of Act IV in normal: YES, I am a ways away from the point which many people seem to complain about.

Exactly. When I was in Normal/Nightmare, it was fun. It's always fun the first time. But the Diablo series has always been about longevity and replayability within the game, something that keeps us going and trading and socializing within the game. That was the magic of the previous titles. however there are so many wrong things with this title that's it'll take me some time to list all of the issues. Just go on Diablo 3 forums and see for yourself. There are plenty of threads there with good and detailed reasons on why Diablo 3(in its current state) won't have a long life. So, once you get to act 4 hell and or level 60 then say, 'I will play this game for ages', I would like to hear that, just honestly.

There are no threads on the D3 forums with good and detailed reasons on why D3 won't have a long life, nor are there any here. It all comes back to the game being too hard. People just expect to walk through the entire game because Method and others did it so quickly.

I'm working through Act 2 Inferno on my WD and it is DAMN hard. Act 4 Hell is nothing compared to this. But I've got a few better item drops by farming Act 1 and the AH, which has helped considerably.

D3 is far from a perfect game. Every app/os/game has their bugs/niggles/annoyances. There are certainly some legitimate reasons why some may not enjoy the game. The lack of PVP is the first thing that comes to mind. As we've seen by this thread and many others, the game is too hard for some, which I can see not being fun. It may end up being too hard for me for quite some time while I continue gathering gear, and I'm perfectly fine with that. I expected it to be difficult as Blizzard has been touting that for months now.

It's funny...people were hoping Blizzard wouldn't nerf the Inferno difficulty prior to release. They wanted a hard game. Now we see people (some are the same, some aren't) using the excuse that the game is 'broken', when in all actuality it's simply too difficult for their skill level or the gear they have.

They did, and you paid to be in it.

I really don't understand why people buy a product like this in its first few months. I wouldn't consider looking at it until PVP is in AND has had a couple of patches.

People buy it because it's a great game. It's not a hard thing to understand.

    * Diablo 2 classic was a mess at launch as well.

Sure, but it was a mess with a fully functional single player game. You do know what that is, right?

Funny. I have yet to group with anyone in D3.

. I can go through Act 1 Inferno with an offensive build with Act 1 Inferno items, I only just recently bought an Act 2 weapon this morning.

And that, fellow gamers, is all that you need to know about D3 in a nutshell.

That better gear is required to get past the harder difficulties?

Act 1 Inferno is trash anyway. I was destroying pretty much everything in my way.
I found it to be easier than Hell Act 4

I have a 2-handed sick barbarian too, so cut the bullshit.
After Hell Act IV, you had to gear-up a bit(Farm or AH) to consider Act 1 Inferno "trash". And Act 2 is unplayable in a group of 1-3 players.

Act 1 is trash and Act 2 Inferno for me now too...
Just gear your Barb up noob - 800 Res and all that stuff and you can pull 2-3 Champ packs together in Act 2 and kill them without any problems.
    Of course 1H+Shield

I get crushed now in Act 3 but i will overcome this with better gear.
Kripparian on twitch.tv for example is now able to tank and farm in Act 3 SOLO after he got crushed in Act 2 a few days ago.He even pulled few champ groups in a 2 player game in Act 3 together and survived somehow.
Its all about stacking resistance and getting better Gear.

Everyone who is expecting to jump into Champ packs with their crap Hell Gear is stupid and delusional.
Especially with a 2H Weapon and all that crap.

I didn't expect that. I'm just saying its way too hard compared to other classes, even after nerfs

But it isn't. That's the point people are trying to make.

The most likely explanation is that some unscrupulous folks have been collecting user info for quite some time. They want to cash in on the gold market before Blizzard allows gold buying/selling on their own AH. As far as I'm concerned, this is all on the end user.

posted a message on has anyone who has actually tried 2 handers prefer 1 hander + offhand?
Up through the first Act of Nightmare I was using a mh/oh combo but found a nice 2hander that was better. I used that until somewhere in Act II or III of NM when I found a mh that was better than the 2hander and switched back.

In the end it depends upon the gear drops you are getting.

Oh my god please somebody tell me which idiot wrote that. I need someone to slap right now. If this is the feedback Blizz is getting, we can expect an Inferno nerf by the end of next week. I hope they stick to what they aimed at and keep the game as hard as it can be...forever.

Hah, exactly what I thought. I'm guessing he hasn't played a Diablo game before.

    Quote from Benegesserit

Oh and everyone watching the Inferno vid and raging about how fast getting there has been, note the youtube top comment:

What you don't see in this video is how they got to skeleton king. They had to have their wizard run/teleport around the dungeon levels, while freezing the mobs he couldn't bypass otherwise, looking for the entrance to the next levels. All because they kept getting schooled everytime they meet a champion/rare pack. They were able to defeat Skeleton king because he hass the same abilities on inferno as he does on normal, and thosse abilities are designed to be easy to avoid.

Because everything you read on the internet is always true.

posted a message on Mac slow FPS
    Quote from ScP_Iodine

This is ALL over the mac tech support forums on battle.net, It doesn't matter how good your mac is or what kind of hardware you're running, it's the way the Mac OSX is running the game. It's the same across the board, everyone is getting very very low fps even when running on the lowest possible setting.

I'm using the same model as you are and many people on the mac forums are using 2010 models but they still have the 9400M graphics card. My game was alright except for when i went outside, and Act 4 is completely unplayable.

It's not ALL over the Mac Tech forum. Most you see with issues are running with a 9400M, which I wouldn't expect to do that well. Especially since the majority are still on Snow Leopard.

@op...Snow Leopard is part of your troubles. Lion is going to run it quite a bit better.

Last night I heard at around 02:00 CET that Athene was already 36... Not sure if it was a very trustworthy source though! If he started on the asian servers like he played about on his small update video on youtube, then I guess it's all good...
TBH I want somebody else to win the race, not Athene.

*EDIT --> Just checking out a random stream on twitch.tv and these guys are 49 already! On EU servers I suppose

*Second EDIT --> They just killed Diablo on Nightmare difficulty!

and another one -_-, thanks a lot guys

Those aren't spoilers. It's info Blizzard has acknowledged publicly.

posted a message on Max Foreground and Background FPS
    Quote from Ven9eance

That's what i thought, so i am thinking should i set both the max foreground and background fps to 60?

Background FPS kicks in when Diablo 3 isn't your focused app. For example, if you were playing along and wanted to check out a web site. You alt-tab to your browser and now Diablo 3 is in the background. A lower fps in that case will minimize how much system resources it uses. It's just sitting in the background so there's really no reason to keep a high fps in that case. I keep mine to around 8 and the foreground fps to 60.

Err, you do have a choice to opt out of a SS number. A friend of mine didn't have one. It's a huge pain the butt, as most places assume that if you don't provide one, you're hiding something, but it is possible.

Hehe. No SSN means no job, no bank account, no credit, etc etc etc.
