posted a message on New Site Design?
Honestly, after d3 is released I figured I wouldn't be returning to this site, but I think i'll delete it from my favorites a bit earlier considering this terrible design change.

Thanks for having the best D3 info on the web for the years. Bye.

posted a message on New mantra system
Oh I didn't realize they were retaining the extra bonus after application, my bad. In that case the change is fine. I was under the impression they were just lengthening the buff and removing the bonus effects.

I honestly think this is a step in the wrong direction. Buff skills need to play a more active role in combat, which I thought the old system solved to an extent.

If it were up to me, buff skills would be removed or a 7th skill slot would be implemented for buffs. I just feel like there should be more emphasis on having lots of different combat moves/spells rather than running around spamming the same spell again and again.

I hate to be a dick, but I really hated this skill so I;m gald. IMO it was just really lame for some reason, I like marital arts much better I guess. And then they just ruined it completely by reducing the duration to 1 sec...

Here's to hoping the replacement skill is kick ass.

posted a message on D3 gameplay too slow, TL2 more intense?
If it's anything like Torchlight 1, that "intense" feel is just your character being insanely overpowered. I don't like to hate on TL, but the game got boring fast; no variety whatsoever. I'm guessing torchlight 2 is more of a suger rush, where as D3 will be a "12 hour energy"

    Quote from WishedHeHadBeta

remember hell D2? you still killed monsters EXTREMELY quickly, a lot of times big groups at once. its not like WoW where you have to hit 1 target 5-8 times to kill him. most of the time you will kill stuff in 1-3 hits max. even in inferno, otherwise inferno would turn into WoW-esque killing and not be like "hack n slash" more like "hack hack hack hack hack n slash slash slash slash" to kill 1 mob. :P

I disagree, maybe if you had super elite gear then hell mobs were easy in D2, (or an OP build like hammerdin) but if you were just playing with found gear then hell mobs could be tough. Heck, normal mobs could be tough: minions of destruction could take 20+ hits to kill.

I'm guessing that inferno will be very difficult for the average player, averaging 10+ hits per mob which means multiple critical hits per mob. Now if you buy elite gear on the RMHA, it might be a different story.

I've put together a summer build as well, though a potential issue with all arcane is that there will be arcane immune monsters eventually.

posted a message on Blizzard said: "D3 is the most moddable version of Diablo there's ever been"
I find that the moment I use a mod for a game, I can no longer enjoy that game. I loved Oblivion until I started using mods for it: the fictive dream was destroyed.

posted a message on Hardcore- flooded with spammers?
In the RMAH the sellers names won't be listed; thus, I doubt spam will be a big issue due to the fact that there won't be anything to spam: spammers are promoting the competition just as much as themselves.

You can bet, however, hardcore will be infested with 3rd party sites selling gear to players who want that kick-ass 'base' on their banner with minimal effort. And--as we all know--3rd party sites = loads of spam. Unfortunately J. Wilson himself stated it will be potentially MORE difficult to combat spam with D3's drop-in drop-out system.

I see why RMAH hasn't been implemented for hardcore (to avoid major QQ'ing about loss of real money). But at the same time I feel terrible for hardcore players: they have no clue what a mess it's going be.

Do you think the spam will be controlled in hardcore? Do you think 3rd party sellers will be unsuccessful? I'd love the answers to be yes.

Solution - play hardcore where rmah doesnt exist.

You mean play hardcore where people will use 3rd party sellers to buy their way to the top?

Well, big broad-shouldered chicks have nasty saggy boobs, so I think it was intended. She's a barbarian, not a super model. Why any guy would want to play her, I have no clue, but it is what it is.

I think it has to do with the political correctness nonsense which has been seen with fat Barbie etc. Basically, Bliz couldn't make the Barbarian the only class without a female counterpart for fear of being labeled sexist; so here we have a pointless waste of coding as a reminder of how screwed up our social priorities are.

If by competitive you mean it's about competing with your friends and every one else for better gear, then it's defiantly all competitive.
