***Condensed wall of text*** (It was a TLDPR - Too Long Didn't Proofread and even I was bored by my own blabbering lol)

It's ok for those who didn't get in, to be bothered by it. Every single one of us on these boards is different. We think differently, we process things differently and we act/react differently. What is or is not a big deal is totally relative/subjective. As a husband and father my perspective concerning what is or isn't important has changed radically compared to where I was at even 10 years ago and I recognize that growth in myself for which I'm grateful. That said, I can't say for certain that 20 years ago I wouldn't have been upset over what many of you see as a slight for not being chosen to participate in the Beta and therefore I don't judge you. I was lucky enough to get into the Beta but I also know myself well enough at this point to know that I certainly wouldn't care about not getting this FoS had I not been "chosen". I truly do believe that once the game goes live and we are fighting back the hordes of hell, that this "issue" will quickly become a non issue (as it already is for many of us) and will be forgotten by a good % of those that currently do care.

    Most likely not.

Then how do the people who immediately add the CE to their account indicate to Blizz that it is a CE? As far as i can tell, a normal copy of D3 is contained within the CE box.
The Key is not a standard edition key, even if the box is the same. If that's incorrect by all means let me know.

Simply being in the closed Beta (which I was thankfully :) ) shouldn't be enough. If they are going to give us a special Sigil, it should be given to those of us that received the OverAchiever achievement (which I did.) Not because it was hard to get, but because it at least showed that we actually tried to get the achievements. Personally I don't care about achievements either but because the Beta was limited it gave us something to do once we completed the SK.

I tend to agree, I think it will run quite a bit smoother as well. I tested the Beta on my wife's laptop also which sports an i5 (Sandy Bridge) running the good ol' Intel HD3000 graphics and it was at least playable at lower settings.

Slightly useless information, considering they tested using the beta which wasn't optimized for performance.
That's true, and thankfully the retail game will run smoother (how much smoother is anybody's guess atm though.) However since the retail version isn't out yet, it should at least give people a rough idea of what to expect when they play.

Found an interesting article from Tom's Hardware running some tests using 12 GPU configs as well as a few CPUs.

I am running a computer with the following components and am forced to run the game at minimal settings and still experience slowing issues that increase the more I play.

    Operating System:
    Windows 2.6.1.7601 (Service Pack 1)
    CPU Type:
    Intel® Core™ i5-2410M CPU @ 2.30GHz
    CPU Speed:
    2.32 GHz
    System Memory:
    5.91 GB
    Video Card Model:
    Intel® HD Graphics Family
    Video Card Memory:
    1.66 GB
    Video Card Driver:
    igdumdx32.dll
    Desktop Resolution:
    1366x768
    Hard Disk Size:
    683.05 GB
    Hard Disk Free Space:
    655.39 GB (96%)
    Download Speed:

I've noticed that others who have the Intel HD Graphics cards are having the same issues as me. Please let me know if you are experiencing issues as well if you have similar builds.

You didn't even post which graphics card you had.

That's like saying MY CAR WITH FOUR WHEEL CANT PULL THIS TRAILER WHY?!?!?/111one!!

The very best HD-series intel cards will probably run the game at the very lowest settings with difficulties. Those cards are just plain terrible performance-wise.

For reference, the graphics implementation you're talking about is literally so terrible nobody sells it anymore. GO try to by an Intel HD series graphics card for a desktop. You can't, because it would not be worth your time.

These cards don't even have fans. They have passive heat-sinks:

    http://images17.newe...21-486-TS?S300W$

I actually have one, right here, but I can't even find an image of that card on Google because it's that bad. Now, I understand you only have it because it's integrated to a laptop; but that doesn't change the fact that if you did any amount of research at all you would immediatly find it apparent that you're trying to fly a lead kite. The HD4000 I was using could barely handle Half-Life 2 on the lowest settings in 2002. Expecting a card in that series to run Diablo 3 is just plain asinine.

That graphics option is commonly included in motherboards as a fallback for the case where your real GPU fails. Nobody int heir right mind would expect their integrated chip to run modern games well.
Just need to correct a few things you said:

You can easily tell which version of Intel HD he using by checking the processor since it is integrated into the processor and not a dedicated card that you can purchase. In his case he is running Intel HD Graphics 3000. BTW the Intel HD graphics solution is not a "card" which is why you can't "buy" one lol. There has never been a dedicated videocard based on the Intel HD series. And to correct what you said about nobody buying it (aside from the fact that it was never sold) it is sold all the time as it is integrated into many of the current Core i-series processors (although I believe the i3's use Intel HD2000.) The M at the end of the model denotes that it is a mobile processor so it will be in a laptop that won't allow for a dedicated graphics card.

You seem to be confused as Intel just recently released their HD4000 series as part of their Ivy Bridge cpus. I believe you are referring to the older ATI HD4000 series of cards which have nothing to do with Intel or their integrated graphics solutions.

To the OP, Blizz has already stated that the Beta is not optimized and that the retail version of D3 will run better/more smoothly :)

I see it more as a "collector's" item than a really useful tool. It's always nice to have hard copies of information (I'm a bit of a luddite, I prefer physical items to digital ones)
Absolutely. I'm with ya 100% on having a physical item vs. a digital item if there is a choice. I don't buy a guide for every game I play but once in awhile I'll come across a guide that is really well done and contains some great art work or just something that I find cool about it and I'll pick it up. I have some great guides I bought for games on the PSX and N64 that I still love to look through for nostalgia's sake :)

I love that idea!!! I'll be doing the midnight thing as well at our Bestbuy and my wife is nice enough to hang out with me during that time lol. When the time comes definitely do a midnight D3 pickup photo thread (and it can be from anyplace not just Bestbuy.)
