Yes, that is quite the sophisticated difficulty graph you have there Wolfson. :P
Thank you, I'm rather proud of it. Then again I'm clearly not normal.

Thought it would convey my thoughts more clearly than ending up with a paragraph no one's going to read. ;)

Anyone else understand him something like this?
    Incoming pro paint skills.

I think this is the best news I've heard in a long time. Even if it's not like I think it is, with a flat difficulty curve the whole of inferno would be Too easy, just right or too hard. This way you can at least find your sweet spot. Personally I often play for hours just running around doing stupid stuff without much thought and then I go do something stupid hard to challenge myself. I'd like the option of running around in act 1 while still getting decent loot. Then later hitting Act 4 for some serious play with serious loot.

Think it's pretty selfish to demand all of inferno suit you when a lot of people would find it either unplayably hard or worst of all, the entire inferno difficulty being too easy.

It's got the characteristic thing that annoys obsessive people like me every time people make supposedly damaged film clips. The 'damage' on the film loops. It's the same few frames, layered on top over and over.

Without trying to sound like too much of an internet snob, it's actually rather badly done. That said, the scream is a really good one and it is genuinely creepy to watch.

I can highly recommend learning to play the guitar. Any instrument really. It's really not hard and fits very well with gaming. Keep the guitar close and whenever you're bored just reach over and practice a bit more. You'll be surprised how quickly you can improve ones you get past the first couple of chords and start to learn songs. There's a huge variety of songs out there that only use 3-4 chords.

I started teaching myself basic chords from diagrams, using my grandmother's guitar about a year and a half ago (at age 27, music is not just for teenagers) and now I'm good enough to learn pretty much any song on the fly if I have the chords on paper. (Can do stuff like 'tears in heaven' too but that takes a bit longer). Also got a Ukulele just for fun and can play the basic chords on that too.

Find someone that'll lend you a decent guitar and try it out. (A shitty guitar makes everything harder, don't buy the really cheap stuff). On an acoustic, getting slightly thinner strings can help with your fingers hurting at the start. You'll soon get callouses and it'll stop being painful.

A great guitar player is just a bad guitar player that never gave up.

    Gl, hf.

Edit: http://www.youtube.com/user/martyzsongs < massive amount of songs taught by a guy that's a really good teacher. From the really basic beginner stuff, up to some more complex songs.

posted a message on Jay Wilson: Patch 14 is shippable content
    Quote from snowhammer

His answer was to a specifc question about the order skill's unlock.. basically "why do you keep changing the level that skills unlock?"

Jay answers: "what is currently in the beta is what we intend for ship, but we're still tuning and things can change".. while very tempting to assume he means the whole thing is shippable (I think he might), its important to note he was answering a specific question about skills.

Damn forum ineptitude, can't I give this guy rep or something?

People need to stop and read the whole story before making fantastical threads with unreasonable interpretations of shreds of data.

posted a message on Creating your class build - What to look out for
    Quote from Greaver

    Hey there ^.^
What i look for in a build is a strong solo-aoe dmg one.

    Why?
    1. Champions and rares has high drop chance for unique items, and they are usually in big cave dungeons with loads of horde packs.
    Fast aoe = clear faster.
    2. Solo = you get all loot, and doesn't have to argue with friends or fight for it.
    3. Even if you went with friends, if you both has strong aoe = clear faster.

This is not for pvp at all, since im a pve player ^.^

That's exactly what I do. I love dot classes so WD ticked all the boxes for me. As an added bonus, if I encounter anything really tough I'm well set up for kiting and the plague spreading design of the WD aoes means they should do respectable single target damage as well.

Has loads of room for rune customization, more damage, going mana neutral, health leech, pet tanks, you name it.

I'll definitely be going for a similar look as far as video options allow. I like the sharpness and I'm one of those people that are nostalgic for the creepiness of the original game. I suppose quite a bit of that were system limitations or design faults. Like your character being hidden behind walls and such but it did give the game a certain horror movie quality where that which you can't see is often scarier.

Remember hearing the twang of a bow and frantically looking with the mouse for the red outline of an archer.

Wonder how the soundtrack is. Fucking screaming baby in the catacombs of the original used to scare the hell out of me.

Iceland is responsible for EVE Online, therefor you're kosher with me.

Did my service there the first couple of years. If I'd not hit a point where there was really nothing to do but wait, I'd probably still be playing. Enjoy fucking with people who see EvE as an MMO-Excel sheet.

Anyway, enough of this silliness. Time to get drunk.

I enjoy plenty of EU comedy. But Eddie is just....bleh.

    1. I don't find him funny. Like...he tells his jokes, I get the point, but I do not laugh.
    2. On top of that, as a person I cannot really relate to him at all. None of his movements, gestures, entice me to continue watching at all.

Just out of curiosity, do you enjoy Billy Connolly? Pretty much the archetype for Izzard style comedy but still quite different.

I'm not trying to be abrasive. Don't want to start some stupid EU vs USA shit.

If you'd allow me to go off topic for just a second, odd fact.

I live in Iceland, a bit north about a quarter of the way from UK to USA. Still, at least 95% of our media is either US or domestic yet English tastes appeal to us just like American ones.

One of my best friends loves Blue collar comedy I'm ashamed to admit, but at the same time I'm pretty sure Umpa's the first person I've ever seen display dislike for Eddie Izzard.

Don't know what my point is but I assume it was really important.

Bah, there's no reasoning with these people. I just hope for their sake that Blue collar comedy tour isn't indicative of American taste.

Ok, I got Diablo with my first computer. Shortly there after I found the need to get a list of what the shrines did.

Since then I've been lurking. 15 years, dozens of games, hundreds of sites through the years, never so much as made an account to post. I'm not really the social type.

But this! This can not stand! Two pages and no Billy Connolly!?

I realise a lot of you are American and it took him like 20 years to gain favor with you folks but really, he should be up there with Carlin and the greats.

So brush up on your Scottish accent and give Billy a listen. I can not conceive of a person that likes stand-up that wouldn't appreciate his ramblings.

    - Wolfson.
